Comfort and flexibility have become a priority for everyone. Most of Engineers and researchers are working hard to continue and improve products based on the trend described above. But by developing this type of function, we are consuming more and more power which in turn can have bad effects such as global warming. For that, our priority must be not only comfortable but also to do different methods for saving the earth. Control device based on to reduce smoke from the cooking in the kitchen and clear smoke from the kitchen.
It is a project that is very flexible and has applications in various fields. The aim is to give comfort to its users not only but also to save energy. Environmentally friendly projects that help save more power by using an intelligent system (Arduino Circuit Board) which can control devices (DC fan) based on the amount of smoke in the kitchen. When the amount of smoke in the kitchen is very low it turns on the fan at the slowest speed. At a moderate smoke range, speed will change to medium. When the amount of smoke in the kitchen increased fan speed is gradually increased.
1.2 Background Of Project
Nowadays, most of the people were exposed to the gadget technology. All activity surround them mostly are automatically. this automatic function has become the first priority for all types of products. Today, we want all our work will be done automatically. Comfort and flexibility have become a priority for everyone. Our priority must be not only comfortable but also to different methods for providing this product to provide the environment in the kitchen we are not crowded with smoke or unhealthy air. Smoke-based sensor device control is the solution.
It is a project that is very flexible and has applications in various fields. The aim is to give comfort to not only users but also to save energy. Environmentally friendly projects that help save more power by using an intelligent processor system (Arduino Circuit Board) which can control devices (DC fan) based on smoke percentage in the kitchen. When the smoke percentage is very low it turns on the fan at the slowest speed. At range smoke percentage increased slightly simple, speed will change to medium. When the smoke percentage increase, the fan speed also is gradually increased.
1.3 Problem Statement
In the age of information and communication technology, there is an extraordinary effect of globalization which affects our lives. No doubt electricity has played an important role in Enriching our lives towards a bright future and prosperity. There is about 85 per cent of Malaysians to use electricity in their daily lives.
The increase in the cost of living, especially in the city has forced all of us to spend money wisely. Thus it will be an advantage if we are able to use this product at our home. In this study, we will focus on the kitchen because it is suitable to put there. Let’s see it can help users to provide a good environment in the kitchen and we are not crowded with smoke or unhealthy air and at the same time can save electricity at home.
In addition, some people forget to switch off the switch. With the availability of this product, the user did not have to worry about this because we have set this product automatically. Additionally, it is able to rescue our life from exposed to electric shock. when we finished cooking in the kitchen this product will automatically shut down the fan according to the smoke percentage.
In our project, there are many objectives that we have to achieve so that we can produce this project. Every purpose has their own objective and it has to achieve either in a long term or short term. So, our objective is based on the research in many ways as a university student and create something existed to a new in electrical and electronic concept. Without an objective, we can’t identify or not clear on what we have to do in finishing our project design perfectly. Our objectives are:
i. To build a system in which the hot air that is able to cool down kitchen even when cooking
ii. To save energy consumption
iii. To give comfort and flexibility for the user
iv. To avoid electrical shock to hit the on switch
So, we can see the objective that we have mentioned and we believe that we can achieve that entire objective to make it a success which is the real Kitchen Ventilation Detector.
1.5 Scope Of Work/Limitation
In this project, the key is the fan speed can change automatically by using a microcontroller. The fan speed will increase due to the amount of smoke in the kitchen. A microcontroller that will be used in this project is the Arduino Uno R3. Smoke from Cook will be detected by the sensor Smoke Detector is used as the amount of smoke in the kitchen. Changes the fan speed according to the amount of smoke is. The higher smoke percentage in the vicinity of the kitchen, the higher the fan speed.
In addition, all users will feel easy and safety when using the hardware and software of the project because the project is environmentally friendly projects. It uses a power supply with an adapter or uses USB cable to connect to. Power can be reduced with lower power consumption.
In this chapter, the background, the problem statement, aim, objectives, scope of project and benefits was briefly discussed. The project background has highlighted the application of this project.
