Real Madrid

Introduction: Real Madrid, commonly known as REAL outside Spain frontiers is a football club based in Madrid, Spain (FORCADELL, 2006). It is a professional football club that was founded back in 1902 and has been hosting world’s greatest football stars throughout; the most famous being Cristiano Ronaldo. REAL owns Santiago Bernabéu Stadium as their home ground. It through their endless efforts both in training and in this stadium that they have ended up being among the European clubs with the most supporters in the world. Real Madrid attracts many football stars due to its high probability of winning trophies and paying the players good salaries (FORCADELL, 2006). We can say that this is a home for the great talents; holding on to this fact, there could arise issues of the players’ insecurity, immigration audits, discrimination and harassment cases among others (MacInnes, 2006). In this regard the team need to establish a legal preventive law process that could limit the liability of the organization.

Identifying risks

Real Madrid homes a wide variety of people. There are different races from all over the world; some rich others poor, some talented than others, some black and others Asians or white (FORCADELL, 2006). As a result of this issues of discrimination and harassment would arise (1). For example, Karim Benzema who is current playing for real Madrid has been excluded from playing for his national team, France in the ongoing Euro 2016 competition due issues of racism and blackmailing. This is a prove that these issues could exist in a sport club. Immigration audit is another issue (2); This is where the players are and should be legally in their country of operation and comfortable. Player insecurity (3). Player insecurity may include the players being bullied by the nationals of Spain or even fellow players. If these issues occur the club governing body could risk being declared liable or being held responsible.

Assessing risks

The above issues need a deep look at to save the club from a bad reputation. Racial discrimination and harassment (1). Issues of players discriminating fellow players for whatever reason is a serious offence. It is even worse when this comes from the officials in the club as this makes the affected player to underperform in the club. For example, football lovers are very much familiar with the racial discrimination case where Luis Suarez (Liverpool) had deliberately refused to give his arm for greetings to Patrice Evra (Manchester united) due Patrice being black. This would later become a serious case that called for Luis Suarez being punished (Garland, 2014). Its therefore important to look at this issue in a more serious perspective. Immigration audits (2). The club risks being undressed its good reputation if a player may be found to be illegally have been in the Spanish soil without the consent of the right government channel. However, this is not very common as the club has made it mandatory for the players to have all the migration requirement before being signed. They also help the players in these processes to avoid problems of that sought. Player security (3). Player security is very important, all the players need inner peace and composure to deliver. If they are not getting that by the virtue of getting robbed or being mentally bullied by people, then this is with no doubt affecting their performance. For instance, if we briefly look at another football club; Manchester United in 2014, Angel Di Maria the team winger was robbed in his home and as a result he relocated to a hotel room. Following this incident his performances went down. He would later transfer and sign for PSG football club during the 2015 summer transfer. This means that if real Madrid takes this issue for granted then they not only stand to degrade their good reputation but also stand a chance to loose world class players.

Evaluating risks

The issues of immigration audits are not very major. The club has dealt with it in a great way, it helps the players be legally in the Madrid capital. The risks carrying the most weight are the racial discrimination and harassment as well as the player security. The players’ security has also been attended to as the players are well paid to enhance their security and the stadiums guarded during the game. The biggest challenge is the racial discrimination and harassment. This is because it could happen even between the players themselves as well as the couching staff. It’s therefore important to design a preventive law process could limit the liability of the sports organization.

Designing a preventive law plan

Due to the serious consequences that the firm (Real Madrid) could encounter if they fail deal with the prom of harassment and racial discrimination, it’s important to design a preventive law that would prevent the club’s board being held liable to the offences. This law should also make sure that the offender is penalized. The preventive law is purposed on protecting the legal risks from becoming legal problem (Brown, 1970).

This law: should ensure that a common language is used by all players, same food is consumed during the club duties and same privileges to the players (1). This would make sure no player feels superior. The law should demand that the club signs players from almost all if not all races (2). This would make it clear to the players that Real Madrid is a club for every body and no race is superior. Finally, the law should require the players to shake hands all times before and after training sessions as well as league games (3). This would ensure a good relation and a friendly environment all the times. Everybody in Real Madrid should understand the significance of the law and embrace it.

Implementing the preventive law plan

Having designed the preventive law plan, members or the Real Madrid community are expected to respect the laws with all the due respect. Players found harassing their fellow players, either physically or mentally would be subject to a severe punishment that would include their wages dropped or even striped their ranks. The government sports department would also ensure that the club signs from all races failure to which it would be subject to a heavy fine. The club’s coaching staff would also be expected to treat all the players equally so that no players downplays the other failure to which the club’s board should consider showing them the exit door.
