How does Food Affect Health?

Introduction

The food is responsible for providing information to our body. For example, if we do not eat healthy meals, the information given to our body will be dangerous. Therefore, our metabolism will suffer and declines the information processed. To give you an idea, we become what we eat. Think about the definition of medicine “the science and art dealing with the maintenance of health and the prevention, alleviation, or cure of disease” (Webster, 2017).Moreover, the nutrients that food contains give our body the instructions to work. That is why the purpose of this essay is to discuss how food affects the health of people how information provided can be good or bad and give you examples of pioneers that have thought about this main problem in our society by providing studies and statistics. Moreover, we are going to answer these questions like how does food affect health? how food and health are related?

What is food doing to our metabolism?

The nutrients provided by the food we eat contains the cells needed to perform our bodies and basic functions. Consider this famous quotation from a textbook that explains how the nutrients are important for our physical performance. “Nutrients are the nourishing substances in food that are essential for the growth, development, and maintenance of body functions. Essential meaning that if a nutrient is not present, aspects of function and therefore human health decline. When nutrient intake does not regularly meet the nutrient needs dictated by the cell activity, the metabolic processes slow down or even stop" (Wardlaw, 1994).To put it another way, Nutrients provides our body the directions to function. Similarly, we can see all the food processed by our body as a source of information. All things considered, keep this idea in your brain taken by a popular nutrition website on the Internet. “Thinking about food in this way gives us a view of nutrition that goes beyond calories or grams, good foods or bad foods. This view leads us to focus on foods we should include rather than foods to exclude. Instead of viewing food as the enemy, we look to food as a way to create health and reduce disease by helping the body maintain function” (Lawson, 2017).

It might seem that the food consumed by people is not a big deal. However, the nutrients that are obtained by the food are essential for keeping the metabolism working. Granted it is important to be aware that food is an important source of information.

How food and health are related?

The society is dealing with many health problems due to bad eating habits. “According to Medical Daily Study, The United States ranks ninth in life expectancy among nations in the developed world but 78 percent of healthcare expenditures are for the treatment of chronic disease”(Cara. E,2017). Obviously, this is a worrying statistic for a big country like the United States. Coupled with, “Many researchers now believe that these problems are partly related to diet. While they used to believe that diseases-such as type II diabetes, obesity, heart disease, stroke, and certain cancers – were caused by a single gene mutation, they are now generally attributing these conditions to a network of biological dysfunction. And the food we eat is an important factor in that dysfunction, in part because our diets lack the necessary balance of nutrients” (Society, 2004).To avoid this, the cause of all these diseases, people need to learn how the food nutrients interact with the metabolism. To illustrate, Europe's greatest dietary affiliation says that Utilitarian pharmaceutical will be a chance to be an evolving technique for assessing, preventing; in addition, treating personality boggling What is more unremitting ailments using sustenance because of social protection.

Some people feel that a healthy style of life is not linked with to food. However, the statistics shown above are a result of this wrong thinking. Granted, it is important that people must be aware of calorie intakes they are eating to have a low chance to suffer from chronic diseases.

A culinary pioneer of healthy cooking

Anton Mosimann decided to complicate his busy life with a new challenge. “I had become increasingly aware of research that showed that heart disease a major killer in the west, seemed to be a directly linked to our consumption of saturated relying upon these. Drawing on my experience of others cuisines, such as the Japanese, which uses no dairy products, I knew that there were indeed other ways. I sought to create a cuisine dedicated to combining the ideals of good food and food that is good for you, two things that previously seemed mutually exclusive”(Mosimann, 2006).For the purpose of, Mosimann was determined to create a happy balance in the cuisine that offered him mouth-watering recipes which were not based on salt sugar and fat, yet full of fresh fruit, vegetables, proteins and dietary fiber. “The style of cooking I devised was characterized first by the exclusion or reduction of ingredients such as butter, cream, sugar, and salt. This is not because these ingredients are bad for you to themselves. Butter and cream; for example, have their rightful place in good cooking and Haute cuisine, contributing to many fine classic dishes. But we must recognize the damaging effects of fats as well”(Mosimann, 2006).Therefore, Mosimann discovered many styles of cooking by experimenting; for instance, he found that tofu, yogurt, fromage frais could be used instead of cream or butter and sauces. In Fact, He was very committed to creating a healthy way of cooking that he used to experiment every weekend in his cuisine by combining different tastes, textures, and flavors. Lastly, Mosimann turned all his reports of cuisine to Janet Gale Professor of medicine and started to work together to publish a book of Cuisine Naturelle that was ready to publish in 1985.

Conclusion

As shown above, the food is responsible for providing information to our body. For example, if we do not eat healthy meals, the information given to our body will be dangerous. In a word, the nutrients that food contains give our body the instructions to work. In short, the nutrients provided by the food we eat contains the cells needed to perform our bodies and basic functions. I believe that food and health are two things that are really joined to have a healthy life. I also think that in many countries like United States people are not taking the nutrients because of many fast food restaurants and the result like shown in the studies is catastrophic have this strong belief that we are the ones who are responsible for our health and if we do not tell the right measures now and the future will be late. Overall, the food is really linked to Health and the results of bad eating habit can be chronic disease; to avoid this, the cause of all these diseases, people need to learn how the food nutrients interact with the metabolism. To summarize, it is important that people must be aware of calorie intakes they are eating to have a low chance to suffer from chronic diseases. I also think that all the chefs around the world need to start thinking about the problems caused by a high-calorie intake and cook healthier. For the most part, there are pioneers like Anton Mosimann who decided to complicate his busy life with the idea of finding new recipes for having a better life, the result was that at 1982 he was able to publish his famous book Fresh Cuisine Naturelle.
