If one were to ask my friends to describe me, they would describe me as a very outgoing, diverse, active and a sharp man. I think one of my most distinguishing characteristics is the diversity of experiences I possess. I am a science student with a flair for the arts. I am a man with technical aptitude and an interest in management. I also have a passion for traveling and understanding different cultures of the world. All these elements have given me a very broad outlook, with varying degrees of knowledge in a range of topics. I strongly believe that although some are not related directly, all these qualities will influence my graduate work.
My IT degree has given a strong foundation to my analytical skills and the application of basic math skills. Over the past three years, I have been lending a hand with my family firm, Lusaci International. I have assisted in the building of homes in the Madaba region of Jordan with Habitat for Humanity, one of the biggest non-government organization in the world. More than what I have studied in school and college, it has been these experiences that have shaped the person that I am today. These trysts with real life challenges required me to believe in myself. I had to take a pro-active approach, take the initiative and play a leadership role in motivating people and executing the project to completion A good manager is one who can figure out where the problem lies, deal with it effectively by involving all the members of the company and improve the overall culture.
A successful business has to constantly balance risk and reward, making accurate judgements about the state of the field on which to base decisions of the future. In order to achieve this, businesses require accurate predictive models based on data generated from past years as well as of competitors in similar niches. During one of my internships at a Finland based multinational, KoneCranes, I served as a liaison for corporations, in which I had the privilege to observe the workings of business decisions handled at a company. This cultivated in me an interest in continuing in the field of management. Your Master's degree in Management will enable me to achieve my goal, preparing me to enter the corporate jungle as a candidate who knows how to survive.
I am currently pursuing IT at Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics. In freshman year, I was introduced to programming techniques with C++, web technologies, with an understanding of hardware as well. I also studied about various quantitative techniques, applied mathematics, hardware and software technologies. I have maintained an aggregate of 67% till 4th semester. Working of projects like developing a multimedia flash game and building a circuit of “Fastest Finger First” based on embedded systems helped to apply my learnings at college in real time. Currently I am in my final year, working on a project on Enterprise Resourse Planning Software for a college.
College life has been very vibrant and has facilitated learning in various ways through co-curricular activities. I was the Literary Arts HOD at Umang, which is my college's cultural festival. My active involvement in the marketing and finance activities of the festival became responsible for arousing my curiosity towards the corporate world. I then started taking part in numerous finance and economics related events which helped me learn about things which I never knew before. I then did internships which helped me get in direct touch with what is happening in the world of business and finance.
I look forward to uniting my academic understanding and my work experience to better understand concepts in the field during my graduate studies, which will provide me an environment to hone my managerial skills and obtain a position at a major corporation.
