Dataset Selected Tendency
Report
Introduction
This report is related to the dataset for which a sample survey is conducted on the population of American Intellectual Union (AIU). The dataset includes both the qualitative and quantitative aspects. Among the nine sections of the datasets, I have selected the two datasets that is tenure and the overall job satisfaction. In this report, I am going to examine the selected data including the discussion of why the data has been selected and what has been learned by observing the datasets. This observation also includes an excel data that contains the information that are related to some measures of central tendency (such as mean, mode, median) and some measures of variability (such as variance and standard deviation).
These measures are suitable for both the quantitative and the qualitative data. I am also explaining the data colleted in the survey with the help of a graph or chart. These graphs and charts are important to convey or explain the statistical presentation of the collected data through a visual format. This report also includes the importance of survey, data, graphs, measures and analysis. By means of the following report, I am going to summarize the various parameters that are associated with the tenure and overall job satisfaction on the population of AIU.

Discussion
Tenure could be defined as a lifetime possession in a job through which an employee gets the contractual right that he could not be fired from the job without any reason or cause. In other words we can say that it provides life-time employment to the employees. Tenure develops a job satisfaction among the employee because it provides them a security in the working time period. Tenure and the overall job satisfaction play an integral role in a working time period of an employee. In order to work effectively in the organization employees should feel secure for their job. A big tenure keeps them secure and creates a satisfaction for their position and job in the organization and this factor affects the working ability of the employees.
This survey has been conducted on 29 people that are the part of population of AIU. Among them 9 persons have less than two year tenure in the company and their average satisfaction rate is 4.94, 15 persons have the tenure between two to five years and their average job satisfaction rate is 4.56 and the remaining 5 persons have the tenure period more than five years and their average job satisfaction rate is 5.24.
The Measure of Central Tendency and Variability
Central Tendency: The measures of central tendency could be defined as an average value that lies within the range of the series of data (Shah, 1997). There are three types of measures of central tendency mean, median, mode.
Mean: Arithmetic mean is the number obtained by dividing the total values of different items by there number. It is based on all the observations of the series. Therefore, it is the most representative measure and its value is always definite and it is not affected by the personal bias. In my survey, I have calculated mean value because it is least affected by fluctuations of sampling and ensures stability in calculations. According to the survey, I examined that the average satisfaction rate is 4.80. It is not very low and not very high.

Median: It is the central positional average of the given data i.e. median has a position more or less at the centre of the values and it divides a series into two equal parts. It is important because it is a proper average for qualitative data where items are not converted or measured but are scored. According to my survey, the median value of tenure is 2 and the job satisfaction value is 5.1 and these values are the qualitative values for my data.
Mode: The value of the graded quantity at which the instances are most numerous is known as the mode. Calculation of mode values is important in a survey because it is not affected by extreme items. It can be calculate even if the extreme values are not known. In my survey the mode value of tenure is 2 and overall job satisfaction is 6.4.
Measures of Variability: The main objective for calculating the measures of variability is the reliability of average value and control of variations. Standard deviation is the best measure of variation because it is based on every item of the series and further algebraic treatment is possible. In my research, I have calculated the standard deviation because it is not affected the fluctuations of sampling. The value of standard deviation of tenure is 0.6925 and overall job satisfaction is 1.4497. Variance of tenure is 0.4796 and overall job satisfaction is 2.1017.
The Charts and Graphs
This research report explains the data with the help of charts and graphs also. These charts and graphs are important in a research method to explain the accurate result and it gives a visual effect. This method enables us to present the statistical data in a simple, clear and effective manner
Summary
This research report is based on the tenure and overall job satisfaction among the population of AIU. The sample data which I have used in this research has been colleted by me with the help of survey. This survey has accomplished to find out the affect of tenure on the employee to develop the overall job satisfaction. I have calculated the various measures of central tendency and variability so as to assure the reliability of the data and the result. This process is important to find out the rate of job satisfaction due to the tenure. According to the survey and calculation of various central tendency methods and variances, the average rate of satisfaction due to the tenure factor is not very high and not very low. With help of this research we could understand that in order to create satisfaction among the employee in an organization, tenure is not a single factor and there are many other aspects, which help to develop the overall satisfaction. An organization should not be dependent only on the tenure to motivate employees.
