Networking Skills:

Have you had any previous experience with inCircle? Did you find any groups that intrigued you? Whether or not you have already utilized inCircle as a resource, how can you envision using it for career networking in the future?

I have never used InCircle as a networking resource before today.  This resource is a good networking tool to use while in college and when you have graduated from college. InCircle are any networking organization is very resourceful in a way to collaborate with graduates from all over the world. It is especially good for students and graduate students thatWestwood’s free social networking website! You can use InCircle to keep in touch with the friends you’ve made in school, find friends that you’ve lost contact with, meet Westwood Alumni, network with current students and alumni, share your career aspirations, hobbies and interests, create photo albums and share photos, announce events to the community, browse jobs, etc. There are so many things to do in inCircle we could go on and on! Are looking for jobs are advancements in various organizations.

What kind of sites are MySpace and Facebook? Would they be more useful for professional or social networking than inCircle? Why or why not? How does LinkedIn compare?

Facebook is a social networking organization were people from any background and from other countries can network and socialize with each other and don’t have to worry about long distance charges. This organization is more for a mature crowd and older people who just want to meet and network on and mature level. Facebook is one of the most networking organizations used by a much mature audience. FaceBook is also used for career advancemant and there are useful services that can help mature adults who are looking for advancemant in their career.

MySpace is for young teenagers that are in high school and want to communicate away from school.  Most of the members have rap videos or country videos and rock videos and them music behind the Personal home page. The language is more vulgar and a lot of profanity is used on MySpace and that is because of the age group and the non maturity of the followers. There is no comparison between Facebook and MySpace, One is for a more mature crowd and the other is for kids and high school graduates and teenagers. The one that I think is on the same line as InCircle would be Facebook, Because of its users and Audiences this information can be shared for all users.

LinkedIn compares the two. It helps people connect with past and current coworkers, and former classmates. Other professional networking sites cater to specific professions or organizations. Also you can use LinkedIn to advertise or use for employment or certain events and job. The service is just like a networking and social events as Facebook and MySpace but offer much more.

Have you ever used a social networking site for career advice and/or help? Who helped you and how? If you have not, how do you think you might use web based social networking for help with finding an interview, the interview process, finding an internship, or career planning in general? (Be sure to refer to your textbook for helpful ideas.)

There are so many social networking website are ways to network. I personally will use various website for social networking, but you have to be careful about the information you put in ton the websites because there are prowlers that prey on individuals information over the internet. I still like the old fusion way of looking through the newspaper over the internet and other website like job finders monster and certain places that are hiring have their own website where you can apply on line for employment. I have not used networking skills for interviews or help finding jobs. I am going to use the internet for that type of networking practices.
