Dear Christine,
RE: 2000 REVIEW: OFFER OF ASSIMILATION
You will be aware that the Executive Committee approved the 2000 Review report on 8 November 2000. As a result of that decision I am pleased to offer you assimilation to the following post(s):
- Director at scale P07+in the Directorate Department.
As your existing job includes more than 90% of the duties and responsibilities of the above post(s) you are being offered assimilation to that/those post(s). Assimilation means you will be slotted into the specified post without the need for any further selection or interviews. A copy of the job description(s) will be made available to you as soon as possible.
All allocated grades are subject to job evaluation. If the evaluation shows that the grade should be lower, your salary will not be affected. However, should you leave the post it will be advertised at the job evaluated grade. If the evaluation shows that the grade is higher your salary would be increased with effect from the date you started in the new post.
You must confirm in writing within five (5) working days from the date of this letter whether you accept or reject the offer of assimilation on the terms and conditions stated. If we have not heard from you by then the offer is may be withdrawn. If you have been made more than one offer and you wish to accept, please specify in your reply which post is your first choice.
Please note that you will be making yourself potentially redundant if you refuse this offer of assimilation. LVSC will make every effort to try to find you a suitable, alternative post. However, as you know, there are very few vacant posts in the new structure.
Enclosed is a draft copy of the “Assimilation and Redeployment Arrangements” for agreement between management and the trade union. Please refer to pages 6 and 7 for guidelines and information on your right of appeal. Should you have any queries or feel that you need help or support on any matter, please speak to your present line manager, Mark or me. You may also speak to your trade union representative.
Yours sincerely
Christine Holloway
Director
