SUMMARY

In order to have a good result in performance the organization have to anticipate the strategic needs and have a method in place of successful strategic change. The measurement of the performance in an organization is an important aspect, because if an organization has to move along with the world it has to measure the performance and change according to that. Some of the characteristics of Performance Management are:

  • Being aware of the outside and inner culture of the company.
  • Reviewing and prioritizing the objectives according to the situation.
  • Making sure that the outcomes of the management is been maintained. (Baldry, 2002)

As said earlier Performance Measurement is the basic tool for an organization to measure at what level the company is proceeding. After performance measurement has been done the company should make sure that it has to put all this into actions such as managing the performances. It must see what all changes have to be done and how to do that. Organizations which do not follow these have to experience less than what they have had in their mind before. Facility management has been said to be a set of information that will be helpful to resolve the problems and situations. The main characteristic of Performance Management is to make sure that the company achieves what it has planned before. The aspect to move from Performance Measurement to Performance Management is to make sure that what all have been measured have been put into actions. Performance measures must provide all kind of information to make sure that the organization must move forward. So from this we conclude that the key purpose of any performance management is to manage the organizations’ performance.

CRITICAL ANALYSIS

Theoretical reasons:

The experience which I’ve got theoretically is that we need to make sure we keep on monitoring the performance of the organization. This is because if we want to improve the condition of the organization considering how the world moves faster now a day, it is important to measure what is correct and what is wrong. This shows at what level the organization stands in front of its competitors. If an organization has to gain profits it has to make sure that it keeps on updating its standards. This shows how much it has served to the community of UAE. If an organization fails to monitor its proceedings then it will be tough for it to move further. There are certain requirements from the citizens of UAE which the organization has to do like serving them the new or updated services.

So after the performance measurement has been done it is necessary for the organization to carry what has been planned out. If an organization fails to do it then the performance measurement done, will be of no use. The organization should make sure that what all that has been planned has to go in order because the performance measurement has been done based on the services that have been provided by the organization so far. In this case it becomes at utmost important because the organization should manage the performance that has been measured for the development of the organization.

Practical reasons:

The practical reason which I would like to give is based on the Government of UAE. I have mentioned these because the government keeps on measuring its performance by checking whether the people get what they want. This is because it is the governments’ duty to make sure that the citizens get what they deserve. The only thing which I dislike about it is that they keep on checking after a particular long period of time. So this has to be reduced so that they see what people want. So when the government measures the performance of its system it comes to know whether to improve or not. To improve they come with some alternatives and try them to see which suites them the best. From here they apply it further for the benefit of citizens. Then come the important part, managing its performance. The government should always monitor to make sure that what has been implemented is going according to the plan or not. So from this we conclude that the more performance increase the more people will be happy.

HOW WOULD YOU APPLY WHAT YOU HAVE READ

So as read from the above chapter I would apply these ideas and suggestions in a place where I would be working. First of all, I would like to measure the performance of the organization to make sure at what level it has been running and what pace it has served the clients. I am doing this because I would like to know whether the clients are satisfied or not regarding the services we supply to them. Then I would check, if the system is not running according to the client’s need I would like to bring in some new ideas to make sure that the system is running according to the client’s needs. Then I would try to select the best option possible according to the performance measurement that has been done earlier. So when the best option has been selected the next phase starts. That is the implementing and the managing phase. Because measuring the performance only does not do anything. It has to be put into actions. From here we see which one is the best option and then that option has to be monitored regularly so make sure that what has been planned is going according to that. I have to monitor because I cannot leave after applying the idea. It has to be monitored to check whether there are any deficiencies or not. If there are any problems then it will be updated according to that and be provided to the customer as soon as possible. This is because the more the good service I provide to the clients, it would reflect in the organizations name. So I would like to conclude that, the more proper services I provide it would be for the betterment of the organization.

The main reason for me to apply these concepts are because the world today is been moved by the consumers. It’s a customer driven area. So if I want to survive in the highly competitive world it is necessary to make sure that customer gets what he needs. And this has to be supplied immediately because losing a customer will be the biggest lost that can ever happen to an organization. So to increase the profit of my organization I would make sure that customer gets what he needs and I will also make sure that the service provided should be fast and at the same time organized.
