I.ABSTRACT

In this digital world an innovative product with societal acceptance is the one that aids the comfort and convenience in everyday life. There would be a huge rush during festival seasons and during weekends. A large quantity of items is being purchased by the customers, which requires a large amount of time for billing purpose. In this project a smart shopping trolley is being used. The cart is being fully closed at the top and a small opening is only available so that the customer can put items .Each time when items are being put, the RFID reader reads the item and the price, discount are being displayed in the LCD display. Also the whole information will be displayed through WiFi module. An Arduino micro controller is being used Arduino is an open source computer hardware and software company. The boards are equipped with sets of digital and analog input/output pins that may be interfaced to various expansion boards and other circuit. By using this circuit it can reduce the wait time for customer.

II .INTRODUCTION

Electronic commerce has become extremely popular with the rise in wireless technologies and other communication techniques. Purchasing and shopping at big malls is becoming daily activity in many cities. There is huge rush in such places during weekends and holidays. People buy different items and put it in trolley. After that one need to go for billing counter for payments. Nowadays number of large as well as small shopping malls has increased throughout the global due to increasing public demand [1] Customer buy different items during shopping and put it in the trolley which will be read by the RFID tag [2]. LCD display is being attached to the trolley which shows the price, discount of the item [3]. During billing process, the customers have to wait in large queues to pay the bill [4]. At the billing section, the WiFi receiver is used which is connected to the main computer [5] By the microprocessor, the process of shopping become easy and it avoid headache to the customer [6]Thus the billing will be done in the trolley itself the whole information will be passed to the main personal computer by the wireless transmitter [7].This will save the customer time and reduces the manpower [8].The RFID allows quick scan of the product, which would be a benefit to the customer [9].In RFID the information cannot be overwritten or changed[10].  Fig1: Rush in Shopping Mall.

III.COMPONENTS USED

RFID Reader

It uses electromagnetic field to automatically identify and track tag attached to objects .It contain electronically stored information It contain mainly two types of reader .They are passive reader and active reader .This allows a highly defined reader area for when tags go in and out of interrogation to one. The RFID Reader is being shown in Fig 2.

LCD Display

It stands for liquid crystal display. It does not emit any light. It may be obtained in many different sizes and shapes. The LCD Display is shown in Fig 3.

RFID Tag

A RFID tag need not be scanned directly nor does not require line of sight to a reader .It should be within the range of 3 to 300 feet so the items can be quickly scanned and enables fast identification of product. The RFID Tag is being shown in Fig4.  Fig 4: RFID Tag

Smart Cart

Smart cart or trolley is a catalog builder for shopping in mall and other online stores. It is an innovative folding basket that definitely makes our life easier. This system will keep a track of the purchased product and help in the transaction of money. The Smart Cart is being shown in Fig5.

IV.PROPOSED SYSTEM

In this proposed system, the waiting time of the customer in shopping mall is reduced. This system consist of ardiuno micro controller, RFID reader tag, LCD, alarm, Bluetooth, connector. Every product will contain RFID tag .An arduino micro controller is being attached with the trolley .Each items is being read by the RFID reader. Discount, price, product details will be displayed on the LCD .By means of Bluetooth customer gets all the information of the price of the product. In this way the rush of the shop is being reduced. This helps an easy shopping to the customer.

V.BLOCK DIAGRAM

This project is being containing Arduino micro controller. It is being connected with the WiFi module,RFID reader,Trolley door control,Alarm system , blue tooth connector. The blue tooth is being connected with the motor. The block diagram is being shown in Fig 6.

VI.ALGORITHM

Step1: Start

Step2: Initialize System

Step3: Search for RFID

Step 4 : Check RFID tag

Step5: Read related data from memory

Step6: Display data on LCD.

Step7: Add item cost as items are added

Step8: If an item is removed display a message ADD OR REMOVE

Step9: Press REMOVE and continue the shopping as the total amount will be reduced, else ADD and hence there will be no change.

Step10: When upload key is pressed send data to the counter

Step11: Stop.

VII. CONCLUSION

Radio frequency identification technology is considered as the boom for the present day market in proving automatic identification facilities that helps in handling the goods and materials effectively. Hence this paper enables the customer for purchasing the product in an easy and comfortable way.
