Chinas phenomenal average annual growth rate of 9.8 percent for the last three decades can rightfully be described as a seismic outer space observable event worth noting (Davies & Quah, 2008).

Asian economies

In analyzing the potential future path of China and India, based on the path taken by other economies in the region, I will very quickly gloss over the similarities between China and its Southeast Asian neighbors. The idea is that I will focus on the key differences between Southeast Asian economies on one hand, and China and India on the other.

bank failures and crisis

The financial crisis which started in August 2007 is recognized the largest turmoil since 1929�33[1].According to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, since the beginning of the credit crunch, there are three banks failed in 2007[2], in total of twenty-five banks in the US have closed their doors and have been taken over by FDIC In 2008[3]. But since this year along, the number of the failed banks has been up to106 which is almost four times of the total number of bank failures in 2008[4].

Brazil facing several economic challenges

Brazil is also facing several economic challenges and at the same time has made great strides in a few economic areas. One challenge that faces Brazil today is that the poorest one-fifth of Brazil�s population makes up only 2.4% of the national income (Brazil County Brief).
