We want our government to work both at home in the United States and abroad to adapt to these effects of climate change. Our plan is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We can achieve this by increasing energy efficiency wherever possible, and investing in low-carbon energy sources. America also needs reliable scientific information about both current and future changes as a result of climate change. We need to provide the funding for these research facilities.
Deforestation is a major cause of climate change. The clearing of forests and trees has a negative effect on the environment. Dumping our wastes into the ocean has been a common way of disposal because it is the cheapest option. We need to invest more funding into more proper, alternative ways of waste disposal. If we do not find alternative ways now, it can continue to negatively affect our oceans and ocean life both now and in the future.
