Earth, what mankind call a home battling with climate change, tsunamis, earthquakes, melting poles and between others are all effects of global warming. Looking for ways to understand the cause and effect of these terrifying disasters should be a societies priority. Global warming has not only affected human beings, nature has been target more. Humans constantly contribute to global warming. The act of global warming is the process in which there is so much carbon dioxide spread in the atmosphere and this carbon dioxide is like a blanket which traps the heat and warms up the planet. It is like being trapped in a summer day under your sheets of your bed. Heat is being trapped and you are releasing a lot of sweat which in this case it means green house gases, pollution and ends up ing global warming. People are concerned of what global warming could do to human life in the future.

According to S.M. Enzler in the 1980’s the globes temperature started to rise, by this time “global warming” was just a theory, but as the temperature continued rising people started to believe more that global warming was becoming an issue. “Environmental NGO’s (Non-Governmental Organizations) started to advocate global environmental protection to prevent further global warming.” (Enzler 6). Since press got interested in global warming they started exaggerating ever piece if news they got from different scientists and researchers. People were convinced by then that the “end of the world” was just around the corner. By 1988 it was when scientists and researchers acknowledge that climate was getting warmer and that they were trying to figure out the impact that greenhouse gases had in the atmosphere. Scientists guided themselves by the greenhouse effect theory, it consisted of “human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) act as a control knob on climate” (O’Sullivan 1). But later in the 1900’s several scientists started to doubt this theory because their data resulted in many uncertainties they could not rely on.

Global warming increases the occurrence of extreme weather which has made human life endangered, nature and wildlife as well. There are three main causes of global warming between others. Burning fossil fuels is one of the main cause of why we have global warming and whether it is coal, oil or any gas; we are releasing polluted carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Humans might not notice it but humans are the ones who contribute the most in the burning of fossil fuels since the moment when they purchase gasoline for the use in their cars. Externalities from burning fossil fuels might be easy to see in the environment since we have notice the degrading in land and the amount of pollution in the environment but both of this are two obvious consequences. We see how burning fossil fuels has not only impact land on each but it has impact marine life by rising sea level as well. Burning fossil fuels is not the only way fuels are being spread out into the atmosphere, there can be different emissions that come from drilling wells and pipeline transportation, offshore drilling and oil spills. Humans are the ones who emit the most greenhouse gases and for instance this gases are found responsible for global warming.

Oil spills have been a major factor for global warming. Since humans are addicted to the use of oil they look froward to drilling and finding “cheap” ways to get oil. One of the most tragic and damaging oil spill was the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. No one understands that for finding “cheap” ways to get oil mankind will pay high prices in the cleanup of the mess, environmental and social damage. It is hard for human beings to make a connection between the fact that using gasoline will end up in the process of creating carbon dioxide the later on will spread in the atmosphere and will have a continuous effect in the global environment.

Trees and plants play one of the most important roles for our living, they give us the oxygen we need to breathe in order to continue living. Plants take the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and release the oxygen we need in order to be able to breath and live. When trees have been cut down they release a carbon that they have been storing to the atmosphere and this carbon that has been released mixes with other greenhouse gasses and this process is wha contributes to global warming.  According to the Environmental Defense Fund  “Deforestation is responsible for nearly 15% of the world’s greenhouse gases.”  Since trees are part of the water cycle they are responsible for pulling up water from the soil and releasing moisture into the atmosphere  having them cut off disrupts the water cycle which end up making the whole environment drier. Deforestation prevents oxygen to be created by trees, more deforestation means there will be more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and less oxygen will be generated.

Farming the third main reason of global warming contributes to the emission of greenhouse gases. Agriculture has been known for its extensive carbon footprint left in the environment. Each animal emits a different amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The emission of carbon dioxide does not only come by producing but growing, processing, storing, transporting, cooking and disposing all types of products help to release this carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.  The most common farming emissions come from the methane which can come from the cattles and the citrus oxide that is produced by the use natural and synthetic fertilizers and the wastes found in the soil. Farms fail to measure the amount. of emissions so t is difficult of rhyme to determine how to reduce their impact.

Climate change is the most target issue linked to global warming it is the factor of greenhouse effect. This is the process of having the atmosphere following the heat that has been radiated from Earth space. Climate change has lead to over dry climate and droughts. Due to heavy droughts wildfires have been an issue around dry scenarios. Although  wildfires are mostly created by people and the fact that climate changes to abruptly the warm and dry temperatures will help the fires to spread and will at the end be harder to put out. Climate change also contributes to spread of mountain pine beetle and other insects which kill trees and build up the fuels in the forest which it is an easy target to start a fire in the woods. In the United States, California has been affected the most by climate change. With its continuous droughts and its strong winds help spread the fire through outdoor spaces leaving devastating scar in California’s ground. Burning of forests results in the emission of a large amount of carbon dioxide into the air. Carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. It increases  the average temperature of the Earth’s surface.

Global warming might be the head issue, but from global warming we get smaller issues such as melting glaciers. Global warming has lead to melting glaciers and the melting of glaciers has lead to the sea level rising. As the oceans temperature rises causing the level of water to keep going up. Since levels are rising so quickly a small increase have devastating effects on coastal territories. such as destructive erosion, wetland flooding and lost of fish, birds and plants habitat. Due to the waters temperature rising it has caused several coral territory to bleach. Corals do not have a high tolerance for high temperature water, for instance; if the warm water stays for too long corals will begin to bleach. the intensity of the bleaching will be the result how high the water temperature stays. The most epic episode of high water temperatures have been during “ El Niño”,  According to Live  Science El Niño “is a climate cycle in the Pacific Ocean with a  global impact on weather patterns.”, this event was the longest global coral  die off recorded. Coral reefs provide habitat for many important fish that help rise the economy of different countries. Warm water causes coral reefs ti crumble, exposing protected shorelines to a damaging force of ocean waves.

Global warming not only changes the weather or make coral reef bleach but it has triggered earthquakes, and volcanoes around the world. According to Bill McGuire “ Tornadoes, typhoons, hurricanes and mid-latitude storms – along with heatwaves and floods – are widely regarded as climate change’s shock troops; forecast to accelerate the destruction, loss of life and financial pain as planet Earth continues to heat up. (McGuire)”. As many parts of the world are continuously heating up, any natural disasters will be linked to climate change.  Natural disasters used to be just natural but now they have come disasters happening continuously.

It can all start by giving a small grain of sand. Trying to fix global warming is a tough task since it would need the help of every human being living in the planet. There is no solution for global warming but there are ways it can be lowered to a point that will not be as poisoning for the environment anymore. It can all start up by car companies creating green transportation where there cars will not be able to emit too many greenhouse gases. There has to be a target on how to lower the temperature of the earth since this is the factor that causes global warming. There has to be a stop in deforestation, this can lower the amount of emissions being spread out in the atmosphere and reduces the emissions of fossil fuels. Human beings need to prepare for tragic impact, global warming is now inevitable, natural disasters where in some point preventable but that come to an end now. As humans take care of themselves and their bodies in general, they have to conscious that they are part of a bigger body of life. Human beings live in it thus they should take care of it.

Since kids we have been taught to recycle blah blah to take care of our planet. We are taught reuse raw materials, to keep the environment clean not only for us humans but for all the animals and organisms in nature. We are taught about this topic because adults want us to live a more sustainable life. Since our generations and the ones coming behind us are the future of the world we have to begin to take more care of what we call our home. People are unaware of the damage humans are causing to the environment and the damage caused will have an equal effect on mankind. Mankind do not do a lot to stop this issue, but they start to blame the government, several companies, they distract themselves and forget global warming is a real issue. They expect the government and authorities fix an issue that all mankind had created.

Humans are so comfortable with the life they are living right now that they will not be paying attention too the climate change and how is affecting them. They will just start complaining about how hot or cold the weather is. Global warming is a big issue and if humans do not start taking action there will not be a home for future generations not only of humans but animals as well.
