The main purpose of the article is finding out the causes and effects of cyberbullying in school settings.  The key question the author is addressing is what the outcomes/ results are from cyberbullying. The main hypotheses or predictions of the study are that the researchers have a hunch that the key causes of cyberbullying are that students who perform the act have underlying issues (either at home or at school). For the victim the researchers believe the outcomes of cyberbullying are much deeper than just getting your feelings hurt, but actions such a suicide, self inflicted harm, or drugs and alcohol. The researchers conducted this ongoing experiment by running surveys throughout the high school systems.  The researchers used MetroWest Adolescent Health Survey is a biennial evaluation study of high school teens in the western rural areas and little urban areas of the Boston metropolitan territory that has the objective of checking patterns to illuminate nearby and regional school and group approaches and rehearses. The area is home to 26 high schools serving overwhelmingly upper and middle- class families. The survey utilizes an enumeration instead of testing method with the goal that each area can screen understudy practices and distinguish health problems that may differ by grades, sex/gender, and other characteristics. In 2008 around fall time, 22 out of 26 schools participated in the survey, grades 9-12 were given handouts, that would later then be anonymous to the researchers.  This study used a survey (methodology) design and the statistics performed included the western suburbs areas.  The main inferences or conclusions in this study were that students who were doing the cyberbullying had D’s or F’s in more than of two of their classes and bullied the “smarter” kids. The victims of the cyberbullying resulted in psychological distress across all measures from depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation to reports of self-injury and suicide attempts. Once the victim gets picked on over and over again, they start to have no trust in anyone because they see themselves as such shameful human beings who do not deserve friends. This then results in the victim withdrawing themselves from society. The limitations of the study are that during the examination of children being the perpetrators, family history or home life was not included in the experiment. Future research should conduct an experiment that goes deeper into detail about the family background of the perpetrator students.  

The main purpose of the article is measure and examine the relationship between mental health and cyberbullying. The key question the author is addressing is whether cyberbullying has a deeper impact on high school students. The main hypotheses or predictions of the study are that kids who are bullied in high school have major health problem increases such as, anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts.  The researcher collected their data by using a mixed methods approach including surveys. Focus groups were conducted to identify areas of youth concern and develop survey questions. Eight hundred and eighty-one students from two high schools in Hawai‘i were surveyed, representing a 33% response rate. Of the sample, 26.2% were in 9th grade, 33.5% were in 10th grade, 25.7% were in 11th grade and 14.6% were in 12th grade. More girls (60.2%) took part than boys (39.8%). The main inferences or conclusions in this study are that multiple students (boys) turned to substance abuse when they were bullied, girls on the other hand, had skyrocketed anxiety symptoms and were more likely than boys to commit suicide/attempts. The limitations of the study are that only self reported data were obtained and not direct measures of the students behaviors. In Future research the conductors should include everyday interactions with the students to analyze their behaviors.  

Every one of the two articles uncover regular issues and speculations when it comes to children being bullied and cyber bullied. Although each study the researchers had conducted in their own exceptional way, both of these articles show multiple comparisons between them and the movie "Cyberbully". The two experiments stated above show the main causes and results from cyberbullying. Cyberbullying, especially these days ARE NOT a joke, especially among young students.

In the first research study the researchers came to a conclusion that students who were doing the cyberbullying had D's or F's in more than of two of their classes and harassed the "more brilliant" children. The casualties of the cyberbullying brought about mental pain over all measures from depressive side effects and self-destructive ideation to reports of self-damage and suicide endeavors. Once the casualty gets singled out again and again, they begin to have no trust in anybody since they consider themselves to be such despicable people who don't deserve friends/ companions.

The second research study also concluded that multiple students (boys) turned to substance abuse when they were bullied, girls on the other hand, had skyrocketed anxiety symptoms and were more likely than boys to commit suicide/attempts. These two experiments go to show that in the end cyberbullying takes a huge toll on adolescent students resulting in either suicide, self harm, substance abuse, or deep depression.

The movie that came out in 2011 called “Cyberbully’ demonstrates every single sign and backs up both of these articles hypotheses and results. This movie showed that Cyberbullying is VERY real and should not be overlooked in this society. The main character Taylor was simply turning 17 when she was presented in the film. Alongside her closest companions, Samantha and Cheyenne, it appeared as though she was carrying on with a cheerful high school life. Her mom had quite recently gotten her a laptop without any limits aside from two guidelines: no sharing private data and no weird sites. The primary thing Taylor did was join an online networking site called Cliquesters alongside the assistance of her two closest companions.

The main demand she gets is from Scott Ozsik, her HS crush, yet Samantha claims they just need to sleep together since she went on two dates with Scott's companion Charlie whom she slept with on the second date and stopped conversing with her a while later. Taylor overlooks her warnings and keeps on conversing with Scott. Taylor initially met him in history class when he revealed to her it was his father's birthday as well. Scott persuades Taylor to join a visit space for the school to talk.

Due to her bond with Scott, Taylor and Samantha have a fight while they are on their way to the shopping center, expressing that she's not infactuated with him and he's simply using her. Taylor reacts in anger and Samantha shows her out of her car. Later on, Taylor gets a message from a person named James, who goes to Ridgeway and they begin talking. A while after she joined the site, her profile was hacked and the programmer made a status expressing she was a 'wicked awful young lady' and somebody should punish her.

Taylor promptly got harassed online from it, particularly from Lindsay Fordyce, who began to despise Taylor after she influenced an impolite remark to her in wellbeing to the class. When she went to class, she was given pessimistic consideration from the well known popular kids, including Lindsay, despite the fact that Taylor posted that she was hacked. She soon discovers that her sibling, Eric, and his friend were the ones who hacked her. Her mom tells her that Eric is  grounded for a month and that she's taking  Taylor's computer without compensation.

Taylor keeps on being tormented and in the long run James sticks up for her. At school, Scott asks Taylor to the school dance and Samantha responds discourteously when she says yes. Subsequent to recovering her computer, Cheyenne and Samantha show up at Taylor's house to reveal to her that James deceived her and posted that she had slept with him and she gave him a STD. Taylor is crushed. Inevitably before long, Cheyenne walks out on Taylor since she was known as a whore and she has never been known as a name at school some time recently. Kris gets a call from Cheyenne's dad inquiring as to whether she realizes what's the issue with Taylor.

She requests that Taylor close down her profile and that she must choose between limited options. It is told later on that Samantha is James and she made the profile to irritate Taylor. Taylor doesn't go to class one day and calls her father to tell him she didn't mean what she said and she's separated from everyone else and needs somebody at the present time. Kids at school begin to expect that since Taylor didn't go to class that she got pregnant. Samantha inevitably chooses to quit being Taylor's friend since all she thinks about is Scott. When she inquires as to whether he is as yet taking her to the dance, he says his mother is influencing him to take another person and Taylor comes up short on class to go the bathroom where she sees Lindsay and her friends who accept she saw the video.

Taylor goes home and watches a video of a young lady acting like Taylor who looks pregnant and is putting on a show to be a whore. She at that point makes a video expressing she can't deal with the tormenting any longer and that she's finished attempting and talking and there's no point of breathing at that point endeavors to kill herself by overdosing yet Samantha sees the video and gets to her so as to stop her, alongside her mom. Taylor is then sent to the healing center. She begins going to a care group.

Taylor soon discovers that Samantha was professing to be James and was spreading bits of gossip about her. She is stunned and shocked to hear it and everybody discovers and Samantha turns into the person. Taylor gets together with Scott and converses with him about late plans. Taylor in the long run excuses Samantha and the following day, she backpedals to class and needs to confront everybody alongside Samantha. Lindsay cruelly influences a scene when they to stroll into the cafeteria and when Samantha advises her to ignore her, she doesn't and confronts Lindsay alongside Samantha, Cheyenne, Caleb and Scott. Lindsay at that point leaves, vanquished, with half of the student body now irritating her.

As explained above Taylor shows all of the traits that student who are bullied have. Taylor towards the end of the film felt like she did not deserve friends and that there wasn't a place for her in this world anymore because everyone hated her. NOT ONLY did Taylor's character support the experiments but her friends who were the cyber bullies showed the characteristics of the perpetrators in experiments, they were simply jealous and they also were failing multiple classes as shown in the movies. The movie Cyberbully is a great way to support these experiments on cyber bullying and how serious bullying is.
