The countries are made up by several different parts. The social structure and culture are the two important parts for the countries. People learn the mistakes from the past and use the invents to improve the quality of people’s life. “Feudal japan derived from the Emperor and was controlled by the Shogun, the leader of armies of samurai warriors. During this time, many shoguns controlled Japan and many wars fought inside their own country. As time passed, Japanese feel more and more weary of the foreigners. The Tokugawa family shogun expelled the foreigner to get off japan and begin to start to isolate with the world”(East Asia History). The Maya people connected their own world and gods. They believe all the gods are exist. The architecture, mathematical and astronomical system make Maya to be one of the most important civilizations of Central America. In ancient Maya, people invented the calendar that we use until now. It brings us a lot of continent to our life. “ The ancient Maya clearly observers the sky and they connected the information with the parts of astronomy and mathematics. It is one of the important and correct calendar system in the rest of the history”(“ the calendar system”). In past, the leaders of the hierarchy system that had the different ways to control the countries. The period changed. The leaders do not chose to use the hierarchy system any more that means this system must have some flaws. The hierarchy had the different ways to develop the social structure and the culture.
The social structure of Feudal Japan and Maya are different today. In Feudal Japan, the hierarchy system of the social structure are totally different as today. Now Japan is democracy, every Japanese can vote their prime minister. Everyone has their own rights. It is fair to everyone, but in past, “The society of the hierarchy in Feudal Japan was separated into two broad categories. Twelve percents are the nobility and the rest of the population are the peasants” ( Hackney). “The emperor is on the toppiest level of all the canner, but in the hierarchy period, the emperor does not have the real power. The emperor was placed in the hands of the Shogun who was the leader of armies of samurai warriors. The four-tiered class system in feudal Japan included merchants, artisans, farmers and peasants and samurai. The system placed merchants on the lowest. They were less important than farmers or fishermen. It shows the importance of productive members of society”( Hackney). “ Samurai warriors dominated Japanese society. Although the samurai classes only about 10% of all the people, the samurai and daimyo has huge and enormous power. The lower classes must bow to the samurais, that means to show the respect. if someone refused to bow, samurais were legally permitted to cut off their head. Samurai only can answer the daimyo who can only answer to the shogun”( Szczepanski). “ Conversely, the Mayan social hierarchy placed the priest and the kings in the upper class. They lived in the palace with the royal family. The middle class was occupied by officers and commoners, professionals, officials, bureaucrats, merchants and artisans while the lower class consisted primarily of workers, servants and slaves” (Hierarchy Structure). They do all the hard work for the upper classes and get the less money from them. The lower classes was excluded from the social structure of the hierarchy system for all. The reason for this problem is the upper classes that the lower classes worked for thought the lower classes are not important for the world. They are useless. The upper classed treated the lower classes like the animals. The lower classes can not permitted to defend themselves when their rights had been hurt. It is not fair to them.
Feudal Japan and Maya have the fast development. “The cultural life of this period in Japan conclude the courtly, warrior and popular elements. During medieval times, the religion have the huge and enormous changes. The major Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines controlled the estates. At before, they use the tax to get the money and control the estates. But on this period, because of this kind of things were interfered upon by samurai. Buddhism and Zen started to use the army of commoners and warriors separately” (Center for Asian Studies, University of Colorado). On that time. the poetry was also the important part of that country. Poetry was an important literary form. “The samurai and the educated were all interested on the poetry. Shoguns became patrons of the arts. They demonstrating this action by engage in social events. The economy was built at the banks of rivers. Beside the river, they can transport the goods by the transportation on the river. It can increase the economic by the trade. Agricultural developments also help this growth. At that time, the chinese were using the coins which has the square hole inside and the coins are made by raw materials.The Japanese started exporting these coins to China. They can increase their economic” (Center for Asian Studies, University of Colorado). “The Maya forces on the concept of time. They recorded the length of the solar year and correct four decimal places. On that time, there is not the benefits of modern technology as right now. They use longer periods of time using an invention and call it the Long Count. They expressed as a series of five numbers and also measured the solar year“(“Blood of Kings: The World of the Maya.” ). “ Their religious beliefs are formed by everything is sacred, the earth, the human being, and all things sacred. The Maya thought that the creation of the earth is believed that is because of the deed of Huracán. The wind and sky god and humans were made to honor the gods (Maria C)
