This essay will represent how the coronation of the Queen of England took place and will resemble how a monarch country has a leader introduced to the public formally. How does a young girl ever become a Queen? Queen Elizabeth became Queen of United Kingdom at the staggering age of 25 in 1953.  The essay is divided into sections. A section will talk about what a coronation is and will go on to describe what happens during one. It will also cover what were the circumstances that allowed it to take place. It will then go on and describe how old was the Queen at her coronation ceremony, and specify when and where it took place. Lastly, this essay will mention if any peculiar events took place with interesting facts, however, let us get excited by covering what a coronation fundamentally is.

However according to Lewis Y (1953), in his journal, he mentioned that a coronation is a ceremony where they crown the Queen, or King or any sovereign. Hence to the fact that we are talking about the UK, we are talking about a Queen. The ceremony that required Elizabeth to be formally pronounced Queen to the public. The coronation consists of multiple events. It starts when the unfortunate news of the ruling monarch being dead, they wait for months in order for it to be appropriate for them to announce the next sovereign. "Princess Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip, were in East Africa when King George died" (Rosenberg, J., 2017). Whilst this time passes the ceremony place known as the Abbey that is in Westminster London gets prepared. It has been the location for the past 900 years. People attend the location and so the upcoming monarch is presented to the people. Moments after the introduction has been done and the people praise the sovereign, he then is required to swear the oath to go by the law and the Church. When all is done, holy oil gets anointed on the crown and then placed on the head of the monarch by the hands of the most powerful experienced member of the Church of England (Hardy, W.L, 1953). Then the ceremony ends with a certain procedure that people exist in.

In addition, the coronation only takes place in certain circumstances. The circumstance that allowed it to take place in Queen Elizabeth's situation was that her father King George had passed away, and the throne has been passed down to her. When this news happened she was in Kenya with her husband Prince Philip, and this was the first time in 200 years that a sovereign accedes from outside of the UK. She was at the age of 25 years old when her own coronation was taking place, it is ridicule how 9 years before that she attended her dad King George VI when his coronation took place in 1937, while she was only 11 years old. Her official coronation took place on June 2, 1953, in Abbey Westminster in London. (Secretary Press, 2003). The place in Abbey where the coronation took place has been the same for the past 900 years. Her Majesty was the 39th sovereign to be crowned in Abbey. (Press Secretary, 2003) The mind-smashing event that happened at this coronation was that it didn't occur to the 38 before Queen Elizabeth, is that her coronation was the first one to be televised and aired, and watched by over 27 million people in the UK, and much more out of the UK.

Many events that happened on June 2, 1953, that were not supposed to take place according to their planned procedure. One of them was the weather on that day. It was specifically chosen on that day since that day the meteorologist had the lowest probability expectation of any conditions that would ruin the day, on the other hand, it was a rainy day. (Austin, 1980) People that attended the coronation got wet and had ruined outfits since no one was prepared for rain. The coronation seemed to be smooth without any mistakes. although there was one that Queen Elizabeth forgot to do, and no one noticed but the Archbishop, due to the fact that it was a really minor error. The error was that she forgot the courtesy at the north pillar of Westminster Abbey.

Overall as a conclusion, to sum up, the essay the Queen of the United Kingdom became queen at a young age of 25, since her dad King George VI died, which inherited her the throne. The crown was anointed with holy oil, and then placed on her head, she then swore the oath and was then officially pronounced as queen to the public. As mentioned earlier it took place on June 23, of 1953 in Abbey Westminster London. This essay has now covered what a coronation involves, as well as discusses what happens in a coronation. The details of the circumstances of why it took place are covered carefully and mentioned with details. It concludes the age of the Queen at the time of the coronation and specifies the time and place that involved Queen Elizabeth in the coronation in 1953. Strange events also took place in the coronation that not a lot of people acknowledge. As mentioned earlier the deviant thing that took place in this coronation that didn't happen to any of the others was that it aired on television. A lot of people were watching it from all over the world including the UK. Also as mentioned at the beginning of this essay is that it will include a peculiar event that is interesting. To bring it to attention more, the weather that day was not as how it was expected and planned. They specifically chose this day hence to the fact that meteorologists advised that it would be the day with the best weather. In contrast, that day was a rainy day, nevertheless if history didn't hold that day how different would the United Kingdom be? Consequently the second of June held and will perpetually hold an extraordinary event in the United Kingdom, and will always be honored.
