THE CENTRAL POWERS WERE Austria-Hungary, Germany, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire. The allied powers were Serbia, Russia, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium and the United States.

In spite of the fact that these organizations together were guarded in nature, they implied that any contention between one nation from every cooperation will undoubtedly include alternate nations. The way that Germany confronted a war on two fronts extraordinarily impacted her activities amid the July Crisis.

By 1914 Italy was just an ostensible individual from the Triple Alliance. She had closed a mystery settlement with France by which she guaranteed to remain impartial if Germany assaulted France and when war broke out she remained out. This implied Germany had just a single tried and true partner, Austria-Hungary.

AND NOW TIME FOR A QUOTE: “The alliances created an excessively rigid diplomatic framework, within which relatively small detonators could produce huge explosions” NOW I WONDER WHO SAID THAT? LET ME GUESS  (A.J.P. Taylor) AHH OF COURSE!

To recap, alliances were a key part to the war because it meant that some countries had no say in anything, but to declare war if one of their allies had declared war first.

NOW ONTO THE SECOND REASON! This was the assassination of the archduke franz ferdinand! In sarajevo! This was one of the immediate causes to the world war, which started the domino effect! See other video called Domino Effect World War one for more information! Franz Ferdinand extremely disliked in light of the fact that he had influenced it to clear that once he moved toward becoming Emperor he would roll out improvements.

He decided to visit Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia to make an inspection of the Austro-Hungarian troops there. The assessment was planned for 28th June 1914. It was arranged that Franz Ferdinand and his better half Sophie would be met at the station and taken via auto to the City Hall where they would eat before going to examine the troops.

A Serbian fear monger gathering, The Black Hand, concluded that he ought to be killed and the arranged visit gave the perfect open door. Seven young fellows who had been prepared in bomb tossing and marksmanship were positioned along the course that Franz Ferdinand's auto would take after from the City Hall to the examination.

The initial two fear based oppressors were not able toss their projectiles on the grounds that the lanes were excessively swarmed and the auto was voyaging very quick. The third psychological militant, a young fellow called Cabrinovic, tossed a projectile which detonated under the auto following that of the Archduke. In spite of the fact that the Archduke and his better half were unhurt, some of his orderlies were harmed and must be taken to healing center.

Overall, this was The direct cause of WWI. the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand at Sarajevo on 28 June 1914. students of history or historians (put book to nose)  feel that various elements added to the competition between the Great powers that permitted war on such a wide-scale to break out.  Now let's take a peek at a picture of this event. This is a diagram of the planned route and the altered route of the assassination! And that concludes reason 2!

Now the 3rd reason! The sinking of the lusitania. This occasion happened not as much as a year after world war one emitted crosswise over europe! A german U vessel torpedoed and sank the RMS lusitania. This was an english sea liner on the way from new york making a beeline for liverpool britain. There were more than 1,900 travelers and group individuals. More than 1,100 passed on and 120 americans. Despite the fact that the assembled states entered around 2 years after this occasion assumed a noteworthy part in turning the popular supposition against germany. This handed assessments over the unified states as well as abroad.  This event made people mad. Americans were mad about the deaths of this event. Americans increased pressure on Woodrow Wilson to enter the war! This is what the sinking of the lusitania looked like: (show picture) And that raps up this cause!

Now on to the next one! The zimmerman telegram! Woot woot! In January 1917 The German Foreign Minister Arthur zimmerman sent a telegram to Mexico seeking an alliance! It communicated that is the US declares war on germany that Mexico may announce war on the US. Mexico would then get back any land lost in the Mexican American War! Germany said that they would bolster this war. The wire was gotten by britain and was given to the americans. After that the US broke optional relations with germany. Mexico did not agree with Germany finally. (point to the picture) This is what the telegram looked like. In the end this was also one of the key events because US broke diplomatic relations with Germany which was a big deal. That concludes another reason for the war!
