e. Preview of Main Points: So, I’m going to borrow a few minutes of your time to inform you about all the amazing things that makes these bees so remarkable and why they’re so fascinating. I’m going to talk about how their jobs divide amongst bees in the colony, second i’m going to talk about how they communicate with other bees, and lastly, we’re going to conclude with talking about their flight and how powerful it is

II. Main Point 1: bees are never alone because they are all part of a colony and
Sub-point A: According to the New York Times the jobs for bees are divided on two categories: the age of the bees and their gender. In terms of age the bees (if you are a younger bee) you will be taking care of the queen you’re going to be catering to the queen and all the services that she needs. If you’re an older bee your job is to protect the hive, to build the hive, and also to collect nectar and pollen
Sub-point B: Now in terms of gender if you are a female bee like this one right here (PowerPoint slide) you are actually a worker bee; these female bees will fly out the hives and they are the only ones that are going to collect nectar for the hive. If you are a male bee on the other hand your job is quite different, you simply protect the beehive and fertilize the eggs of the queen

a. Sub-point A: (Aspect #1 of your main point) So the way they do this as the New York Times also elaborates is in two ways: Dancing, And Scent. Now dancing the way that bees communicate through dancing is first of all I have these two female bees here; they are the only ones that communicate with each other through dancing and they communicate two things they communicate what type of food that’s around and how far and what direction that food is in through dance. Based on how many times a bee moves up and down before turning right or turning left, communicates to other bees in the colony how far away food is what direction and what distance and it’s calculatable it’s quite astonishing.
b. Sub-point B: Another element of communication is their scent. BEES use their scent for almost everything they choose their hive mates based on the scent that is given off by other bees and believe it or not the smell of bees that dominates the most like the most present strongest odors are the bees that end up having the most dominant control in the colony which is kind of weird that the smelliest people are the most successful in the bee colony.

IV. Main Point 3: They can also FLY
a. Sub-point A: Now lifescience.com explains that explains how powerful the flight is of bees. Their wings… can flap up and down virtually 230 hertz in perspective that’s 230 times every second going up and down (1 MISSISSIPPI) that was 230 flaps of the wings. THAT IS INSANE. Now this allows them to hover in spot to make it easier to collect pollen nectar or anything that they need to survive.
b. Sub-point B: Now another element that makes the bees so powerful with their flight is that their body is designed like a racecar. Their wings the wings can actually switch gears to carry a greater amount of cargo which would be pollen that collects on the fur and fibers of their bodies and according to Lifescience.com that is very complicated and very difficult to do that without adding more weight or more mass to the structure
