Great men are leaders, and many believe that history has become of by many great men.  They stand for change to improve the lives of many people, by presenting new ideas, and theories to society. Men has founded many great things and one being religion. In particular Christianity and Buddhism; these two religions were developed in different regions of the world and for different reasons. The life of Jesus and Buddha can be seen as very similar, yet nothing alike. This essay is intended to compare and contrast the lives of Buddha and Jesus particularly in conception and birth.

As we compare the conceptions of both Jesus and Buddha one is able to find many similarities. Both of these men were thought to be preexistent; believed to both had human form in a previous world. The gospel john can attest this theory, John1:1 states “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the word was God.” The “Word” is a reference towards Jesus exemplifying that Jesus existed before all things. In his writings proceeded to say John 1:14 Word was made flesh and dwelt among us”. This same Gospel Jesus says “ Verily Verily I say unto you, before Abraham was, I am” hypothetically it is said that Jesus existed. Similar to Jesus, Buddha is also preexistent. It is said that before his origin he lived amongst other Gods in Tusita heavens. There has been many different beliefs as to why Buddha was born again on earth. Some records suggests that the Gods asked him to be birthed on, while others said he accepted mortal shape in the wake of turmoil and chaos on earth. Either story one may tell it was always said that in Buddhist tradition Buddha was able to pick the time, country, family, and castle of his birth. The Buddha's power be that as it may, marks a vital qualification among him and Jesus. Although both Jesus and Buddha were preexisting beings Buddha had a choice he had control over when, where, and how.

Also, Both Buddha and Jesus were conceived by mothers of high rank. Mary holds a high status in Christianity, she is often alluded as “Mother of God”. In the New Testament, the angel Gabriel says to Mary “Hail thou art that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women” Luke 2:28. Mays, the mother of Buddha, is additionally a women of great virtue. There are certain Buddhist writings that relate many of her exceptional values. The Digha Nikaya texts relates the following: ‘She is virtuous through her own nature, averse from taking life, averse from taking what is not given, averse from sick unchastity, averse from lying, averse from indulgence in strong drinks, in pleasures of sense, or living in enjoyment yielded by five sense.’ It was Mayas ethical degree that made Buddha choose her to be his mother. Both situations Mary and Maya were women of good morale even unto today.

While in the womb Jesus and Buddha both held an uncommon status of high remark, before being born they had astounding abilities The records of Buddha's origination show that he experienced minimal fetal development. Inside days of his origination, he was a completely created newborn child. Actually, Maya could see the child Buddha, in her belly, as plainly as one sees sunlight. This relates with the legend of the Tusita divine beings enveloping the child Buddha by gold. The main way such an accomplishment was conceivable was if the Buddha entered the belly as a baby, and not as a hatchling. Indeed, even while in the belly, the Buddha is asserted to have had phenomenal forces. Wiped out individuals would come to Maya, and request to contact her splendidly sparkling stomach. After doing as such, they were instantly restored of their illnesses. This is like Jesus' unique status in the belly. The Gospel According to Luke portrays that after the wonderful origination, Mary went to visit her cousin Elizabeth, who was likewise pregnant. At their gathering, Jesus' marvelous status was demonstrated. Luke 1:41-42 says “ And it came to pass, that when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary the baby leaped in her womb, and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost. And she spoke out with a loud voice, and said Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.” It is also stated that both Jesus and Buddha were born without contamination.

Notwithstanding the numerous similitudes among Jesus and Buddha, there are likewise unpretentious contrasts. These distinctions mirror the diverse jobs played by the Buddha and Jesus in the particular religions. The Buddha's introduction to the world is by all accounts significantly more tuned in to nature. The Buddhist messages unequivocally show that Buddha was conceived on an "immaculate day." This implies the grass was its greenest; the water was most perfect, the rice was best, and so on. Be that as it may, there is no notice of the condition of nature amid Jesus' introduction to the world. To a Buddhist, these things are critical. The possibility of regular agreement is worried in Buddhism. Buddhists expect to adjust their own vitality to the all inclusive vitality that penetrates all things. The Buddha, who is viewed as an ideal being, must be totally in sync with the whole universe. Therefore, when he is conceived, the fowls, trees, blooms, and so forth had to all be immaculate.
