The way that North and Central America were colonized were in different ways. England and Spain both came to the new world to colonies it but they both did it differently compared to each other. England came to what is now The United States of America and Spain came to Central America. They both ended up colonizing their own place to make their own colonies, but they did things differently, and they did things in the same way.
England had to go to the united states section because they were the last people to go exploring for the new world. The people that came to the new world from England were mostly farmers, the indentured servants, and people that specialized in certain areas (English, French, and Spanish Colonies: A Comparison). The people of Spain consisted of conquistador or a conquer, soldiers, and religious missionaries (English, French, and Spanish Colonies: A Comparison). The economy that developed in the England colonies were mostly about hunting and fishing, but there was also farming and trade that was in their economy which supported life there. In the Spanish colonies their economy was made up of mostly trade with other nations and the also had a little bit of farming going on at that time. There was also native Americans that were there at the time, the people from England saw them as friendly people and wanted to trade with them, but the Spanish had a very different view about Indians, “Spanish missionaries saw Native Americans as heathens to be converted to Christianity; soldiers viewed them as fit only for killing or subjugation” (English, French, and Spanish Colonies: A Comparison). With all these differences England and Spain did have some things in common, they both did farming and trading to make their economy grow.
In conclusion England and Spain had very different ways of colonizing the new world. First, they went to different parts of the new world to settle in or make colonies in. They brought different types of people to colonize the new world, one brought farmers and laborers and the other brought soldiers. They had very different views on the Native Americans that were there, England found them friendly and the Spanish people found them to be bad people. Even though these are two different countries, they did do some things the same like bringing farmers or trading with other nations or people. The colonization of the new world was done differently by different countries which helped them in their own way.

There was slavery all over the new world and different people used slavery in different ways. The two places that will be compared are the West Indies and the Chesapeake and how they used slavery in their colonies. There were many reasons on why slavery was used in the new world. They both did slavery differently or in their own ways, but they could have had some ways that were the same.
The West Indies people got their slaves from west Africa, but the Chesapeake people got their slaves from the Dutch people that sold them, but also from Africa. The people in the West Indies used slaves to work on sugar and coffee plantations and they also used them for forced labor. The Chesapeake people used slaves to work on the tobacco plantations because, “Tobacco was a major cash crop in the Chesapeake colonies” (Tobacco on the Chesapeake). Slaves had very little to no rights in both colonies when they were sold to the people of that colony. In the Chesapeake there were people that opposed slavery, it was mostly the northern states that won the American revolution later, but there was still slavery there like Thomas Jefferson, etc. In the West Indies they didn’t really want slavery to end or to get rid of it, but the British government saw that this was not a good thing and they had to abolish this practice. They both did things the same even though that they were different colonies, like they used slaves for working on a plantation, but they had different cash crops on the plantation. They also got their slaves from Africa, but the Chesapeake got them for the Dutch first then Africa.
In conclusion the West Indies and the Chesapeake both had slaves, but they used them for different reason. They used them to work on the plantations and to work on crops, they used them for forced labor, and they gave them little to no rights. They both did the same things when it came to slavery just in different ways. Only the Chesapeake had people that wanted to get rid of slavery before it had to be abolished. These were two different places in the new world, but they did the same things when it came to slavery.

The American revolution in 1775 started up for a lot of reasons. There were certain events and actions that led up to this revolution. Some if not most of the events were because of the British. The British made taxes that people did not like and felt like they were being treated unfairly. They wanted to leave the British rule and be by themselves with their own form of government or later presidency.
There were about seven different taxes or acts that made the American revolution start up or take the process of starting. There was the sugar act that charged people in the form of taxes on importing sugar from another places (American Revolutionary War Facts). There was an act called the Townshend act that said that you had to let the British army men to stay in your home no matter what (American Revolutionary War Facts). There was also a stamp act that was the first direct tax made and what it was if you made anything from a product to a document it had to be stamped so that it can be taxed (American Revolutionary War Facts). These were just some of the taxes that the people of the colonies did not want to pay or have at all. The Boston massacre also happened during this time which was made to convince the people that they should go against the British, but the actual massacre was exaggerated. All these things lead to the declaration of independence to leave the British empire, but the British did not want that to happen.
In conclusion the British imposed taxes and different acts that made the colonies want to separate from the British empire which started the American Revolution. Multiple different taxes like the stamp act or the sugar act made them realize that they are paying too much. There were also acts like the Townshend act that made them see how the British is in everything they own, even to their own homes. The Boston massacre also made things harder on the British because of how exaggerated the people made it out to be. These are the reasons that why the colonies wanted to leave the British rule.
