Jay- Hip hop music took America by storm. In the 1970s a underground music genre hit America Known as hip hop, the name hip hop came from coining the term hip-hop.
Hip hop for artists has always been a getaway and an art form. A time and a feeling for an artist to get problems of their chest or even to speak emotion on real world activities. Since hitting the streets in 1970s in places like The Bronx in New York the genre has become something that would be impossible to imagine in the beginning. A movement through styles and sounds has really created one of the most mesmerising music scenes to date.
Hip hop refers to culture compromising elements tuntabling or deejing with a combination of rapping or mcing and break dancing.
Kool Herc and other pioneering hip-hop deejays such as Grand Wizard Theodore, Afrika Bambaataa, and Grandmaster Flash isolated and extended the break beat (the part of a dance record where all sounds but the drums drop out), stimulating improvisational dancing. Contests developed in which the best dancers created break dancing, a style with a repertoire of acrobatic and occasionally airborne moves, including headspins and backspins.
When Bambaataa became a DJ he brought a new energy into hip hop it was a energy that tapped into a frightening force which dominated Bronx life in the 70s its street gangs.
In a era when the Bronx was riffed with savage territorial conflict Bambaataa was already well known in the area as a notorious gang leader.
At that time Bambaataa was involved in the black space and the seven immortals. After seeing his good friend shot in the Bronx by the police. He decided It was time to lead his organization into another direction
Bambaataa created a zulu nation with a following of local hip hop enthusiasts he started to have parties and the money that was made into community self-help projects.

Culture of hip hop
Hip Hop has had an overwhelming influence on the black community in America, as well as society as a whole. Hip Hop is more than music; Hip Hop is a culture. Over the past three decades, Hip Hop has influenced and uplifted America, speaking up for generations and providing a voice to a group of people trying to deliver a message. Opponents of the Hip Hop culture argue that the music is aggressive in nature and promotes social rebellion- however provocative lyrics do not negate the fact that Hip Hop is a vocal outlet for many people in America. Hip Hop has provided a platform for MCs and rappers to express their opinions about society, the government and the treatment of African Americans in America for decades. This outlet is crucial for the uplifting of the black community and would benefit society entirely if people opposed to Hip Hop tried to embrace the culture rather than attack the culture.
Hip hop really started to take a turn for the best in 1979, The Sugar Hill Gang released the first commercially popular hip hop track, Rappers Delight (1979)
From this Hip hop exploded world wide over the next 20 years the world was going to witness some of the greatest rappers that will ever be. These men was not just writing music they was creating art and poetry, often looked down upon threw the lyrics that they was writing but for most it was moving, inspiring and sometimes they could send cold shivers down your spine.
Artists such as Biggie Smalls aka The Notorious B.I.G was one of the all time greats making his music into almost narratives. Writing songs such as ‘Who Shot Ya” causing controversy on whether the song was wrote about Tupac as the song contained lyrics “2 glock 9’s” this being Tupac’s gun of choice. But with later information this was not the case and just coincidental information that was just put into peoples heads as both artists were no longer alive. The song was written way before Tupac’s death.
7th September 1996 Tupac Shakur joins members of the death row entourage in Las Vegas to watch the heavyweight fight between Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldon. After the fight had finished Tupac and mates was walking through the lobby when one of the gang members Trevon Lane a member of the Blood gang spotted a member of the crip gang who jumped him for his chain several; months ago for his gold chain, this sparked a massive brawl. The bloods and Crips have always had a major rivalry and were always fighting. All of a sudden Tupac runs over and starts to beat the crip in the middle of the MGM Grand the whole of the death row group were beating the guy up. Hotel security split the fight and the guy left pressing no charges. Several hours later Suge Knight and Tupac Shakur were driving to a club in Vegas that Suge owns called 662. They got stuck at a red light on a junction. Tupac made the decision to leave his bullet proof vest in his hotel lobby and that choice was fatal.
