1.  DOCUMENTARY

Title Captive for 18 years; The Jaycee Lee story

Source Netflix

Duration 48 minutes

List at least four details that were discussed in the documentary. Also indicate whether you think this information was interesting or not and explain why you think so.

1. How Jaycee got kidnapped, I think this was interesting because her stepfather saw it and all the time she was kidnapped he was thinking about what he could do when he saw it happening. Of course, at that time he did everything he could do.

2. All the time the police was thinking it was the stepfather that kidnapped her. I think it wasn’t really interesting and honestly for me it was really frustrating to watch. The stepfather was struggling with the fact that he saw what happened and described everything perfectly, and still was the prime suspect.

3. The mom gives up after 10 years of missing her child. She and all the others thought that she was murdered and that they would never see her again. I think it was interesting to see that her mom gave up.

4. Jaycee Lee that was found alive and that they found the guy that kidnapped her, after 18 years. In the time she was kidnapped she even got two children from the guy that kidnapped her. The guy was Phillip Garrido. I think this was really interesting because nobody ever thought They would see her ever again.

Mention at least two people who featured in the documentary and provide information on them. Explain why these people were interviewed / filmed.

• Jaycee Lee Dugard, she was kidnapped for 18 years and survived it. She was kidnapped when she was 11 years old (1991) and was found back when she was 29 (2009). She got kidnapped when she was walking to her school bus. She wasn’t interviewed in this documentary but it’s about her.

• Phillip Garrido, he kidnapped Jaycee Lee, raped her, and kept her and her children for 18 years in his backyard. He is filmed because of everything he did to her.

Which information in the documentary shocked / surprised / annoyed / amazed you? Why did it have this effect on you?

It shocked me that she was kept for 18 years. Her stepfather described the car and the woman that helped kidnap her exactly, and still they never found Jaycee

Give at least one tip for the producer of this documentary. How could this documentary have been improved. Focus on the content. Mention what information you felt was missing etc.

I was hoping the entire documentary for an interview   with Jaycee herself, because the whole documentary people that were missing her talked. I also understand that she wouldn’t talk to the media the first few years.

Most documentaries show the producer’s opinion and are hardly objective. In which way do you think this documentary is subjective? How would it have been a more objective documentary? Explain in detail.

It wasn’t subjective at all if I can say that. The whole documentary was about Jaycee and what happened. Also, most of the time her loved ones were talking about everything.

2.  DOCUMENTARY

Title Audrie& Daisy

Source Netflix

Duration 1:38 hours

List at least four details that were discussed in the documentary. Also indicate whether you think this information was interesting or not and explain why you think so.

1. Audrie that hosted a party with a friend, became drunk and that all the boys were drawing on her. I think this was interesting because she couldn’t remember anything and it showed how bad alcohol can be when you drink too much.

2. The moment Daisy found out some of the boys also took pictures of her and sowed everybody. After a week she couldn’t have it anymore and killed herself.

3. The police didn’t believe the story of the girls. Also, the boys that did it didn’t have to go to jail. I think this was interesting because there was more than enough evidence against the boys in my opinion.

4. The moment that everybody in America was talking about the case and discussing about if the girls were talking the truth or not.

Mention at least two people who featured in the documentary and provide information on them. Explain why these people were interviewed / filmed.

Daisy, she was a girl around 16 years old. She was hosting a party when she became really drunk. When she was really drunk people were drawing on her. They made pictures. Daisy committed suicide.

Audrie, she was 14 when she was raped by a friend of her brother. Her brother didn’t know anything about it. She and a friend, Paige, were going to some guys at night an also became drunk. Months after that the police said that there was not enough evidence against the boys who did it.

Which information in the documentary shocked / surprised / annoyed / amazed you? Why did it have this effect on you?

I was shocked when nobody believed Daisy and Paige anymore because they could not find evidence.

Give at least one tip for the producer of this documentary. How could this documentary have been improved. Focus on the content. Mention what information you felt was missing etc.

I think they could give more information about Audrie her case because most of the time it is about Daisy.

Most documentaries show the producer’s opinion and are hardly objective. In which way do you think this documentary is subjective? How would it have been a more objective documentary? Explain in detail.

The producers gave their opinions about Daisy her case. In their opinion they were sure that it was the fault of the boys.

3.  FILM

Title Everything, Everything

Source DVD

Duration 1:55 hours

List at least four events in the movie. Indicate whether you think the events were exciting / boring / mysterious etc.

1 The day Maddy see’s Olly and the start texting. It’s a bit mysterious because you don’t know what’s going on.

2.When Maddy saw Olly for the first time. It’s an exciting event because Maddy is thinking about that since the day she saw him.

3.When Maddy escapes to Hawaii with Olly. It’s scary because you are scared that Maddy will die.

4.The moment Maddy find out she wasn’t sick. It was exciting because after that she could live like a normal teenager.

Mention at least two characters who featured in the movie and provide information on them. Explain why the relationships between the characters.

Maddy and Olly are two neighbours that live next to each other. At first, they can’t talk to each other but later they can. Maddy cannot leave the house but one day the nurse let Olly visit her. They can’t touch but for the first time they can talk.

What point of criticism do you have for this movie? How could it be improved?

You could expect the end, at least I did. I also think that the movie was a bit boring. There were some exiting things but that was not the whole film. It could be improved when they keep our attention with things.

What contributed to the success (or the failure?) of the movie?  Focus on the content. Mention what information you felt was excellent, inspired etc.

I think the success was because it was about a girl that is around 18 years. She can’t go outside her house and because of her age she misses a lot of things that a normal girl of her age would do.

In what way is this movie different from any other movie you’ve seen? If they followed a so-called recipe for success, what recipe would that be then? (In action movies for instance cop chases thief, thief is caught by cop = RECIPE FOR SUCCESS because people like to see the good guy win etc.)

It’s not a very special movie. At the end everything becomes good and that’s why people like the movie. I think that the recipe for success is that everything ends well.

4. TED TALK.

Title Looks aren’t everything. Believe me, I’m a model.

Speaker Cameron Russell

Link www.ted.com/talks/cameron_russel

1. What is the speaker’s main idea/ message?

That how someone looks doesn’t say anything about how they feel.

2. Describe the TED TALK in 1 word: inspiring / boring / personal / confusing etc. Explain your answer.

For her it was really personal, because it had to do with her career as a model. That how she looks on pictures is not how she is I real life and that she is really insecure about herself.

3. Has the speaker convinced you with his main idea/ message? Explain why (not).

Yes, she said that people on pictures look way fuller of confidence but that isn’t the truth.

4. What more could the speaker have done to persuade or convince you? OR What should the speaker have left out to make the talk more convincing?

She could have left out a story because all the time she was telling stories about herself and that wasn’t always convincing.

5. How did the speaker try to convince you? Did (s)he use an anecdote (so appeal to your emotions) or did (s)he try to convince you with evidence (like research data etc.).

Which of the speaker’s arguments did you find MOST convincing? Which arguments were the LEAST convincing? Explain why you think so.

She did used a few anecdotes about her own life and for me they were convincing me.

6. When you are a TED speaker you are an excellent presenter. Which two things did the speaker do really well to reach his audience? Give two examples and jot down the minute and second in which the speaker shows this.

She was making jokes so she kept the audience their attention. (6:25 + 5:03 + 4:07).

She also did some research to convince people. (7:02 till 7:33).

7. Mention at least two things you have learned from this talk.

That looks are not everything and that most of the time people look more confidence than they are.

8. If you could ask the speaker one question about his talk, what would it be?

Would you choose again to be a model or would you pick another job.

9. Mention one point of criticism/ one point of improvement for the speaker.

Sometime she looked like she wasn’t serious. She could improve that so people take it even more seriously.

10. Who should watch this TED talk? Who can learn the most from this TED talk? (High school students? Employers? Etc.) Explain your answer.

Teenagers, because they always see pictures on Instagram where people are living the perfect life, but in this talk you see that that isn’t how it is.

5. SITCOM / SERIES

Title

episode 13 Reasons Why, Tape 1, Side A

Source Netflix

Duration 51 m

Was this episode realistic or unrealistic (e.g. Could this have happened in your life?) Give at least 2 different examples to prove your point.

Realistic, but I think it would not happen in my life. I think none of my friends would commit suicide. But is realistic because sometimes its happens on schools, not ours. It is about people of my age and that’s why some things are relatable.

What was the main idea or event in this episode?  (e.g. ‘A life lesson’ / what NOT to do in case of … etc.  – support your answer with at least two examples)

In this episode you get to know the main characters. The main event is when Clay get the tapes from somebody (unknown).  He starts listening to the first tape (Tape 1, Side A). Hannah was a friend that committed suicide and when he starts listening he hear her voice again. He is in a shock when she says that if you receive the box with tapes you’re one of the reasons why she committed suicide.

Who are the most important characters? How are they connected to each other? / What is their relation?

Hannah and Clay. They felt in love with each other when Hannah was still alive but never told each other. They also worked together at a cinema in their town. Now Hannah died Clay tells his parents that he didn’t knew her that well and plays like he doesn’t really care.

What makes this episode worth watching? Name two things you liked best about this episode. (e.g. Was it a particular joke? Explain the joke etc.)

Students because most of the time they are insecure and this talk shows how they can look more confidence just with their body language.

I liked it because you get to know some of the main characters, Hannah, Clay and Justin. You get to hear the first tape about Justin Fooley, and why he has a tape. He made a picture of Hannah when they were together in a park and now everybody is saying that she is a slut, one of the reasons why she did commit suicide.

What could the producer have done to make this episode (even) better?

Maybe they could introduce Justin more. Next to that the episode was really good.

Describe how you feel about this episode in one word. Explain your answer.

Exiting, because it made me exited for the rest of the episodes that were coming.

6. TED TALK.  (2)

Title Your body language may shape who you are

Speaker Amy Cubby

Link www.ted.com/amy_cubby

Duration 21:02 minutes

1. What is the speaker’s main idea/ message?

That how you sit can affect how people think about you.

2. Describe the TED TALK in 1 word: inspiring / boring / personal / confusing etc. Explain your answer.

Useful, because you learn about how you have to act so you look more powerful and full of confidence.

3. Has the speaker convinced you with his main idea/ message? Explain why (not).

Yes, because she showed some tests and results and that it’s important to look more confidence.

4. What more could the speaker have done to persuade or convince you? OR What should the speaker have left out to make the talk more convincing?

The tests she did convinced me.

She had evidence. She did some job interviews where she was just looking at the body language and it showed that if you have more confidence you get the job faster.

6. When you are a TED speaker you are an excellent presenter. Which two things did the speaker do really well to reach his audience? Give two examples and jot down the minute and second in which the speaker shows this.

She asked the audience if they could change their body language for two minutes. (00:12)

She showed some examples out of the newspapers and showed that people are interested in the body language of others. (01:23)

7. Mention at least two things you have learned from this talk.

That you look more confidence if you make yourself bigger.

That if you think you can’t do something than you have to keep thinking that you can, and after a while it will work and you can.

8. If you could ask the speaker one question about his talk, what would it be?

Will this theory always works?

9. Mention one point of criticism/ one point of improvement for the speaker.

I think it was a bit too long so she could improve it and make it shorter.

10. Who should watch this TED talk? Who can learn the most from this TED talk? (High school students? Employers? Etc.) Explain your answer.

Book report 1

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

1 Describe the main characters (Bruno, Gretel, father, mother, Maria) (age, appearance, character). Use evidence from the book, so try to quote from the text.  Try to be as complete as possible.

In your description, use at least three adjectives to describe them.

Bruno; Bruno is a boy that is 9 years on at the begin of the story. He likes making friends and is very curious. He has brown hair.

Gretel; Gretel and Bruno don’t like each other and he always calls her ‘hopeless case’. Most of the time they are arguing. She is 12 years old and thinks she is smarter than her brother Bruno.

Father; Bruno is not sure what his job is but he always wears a uniform. He is a very strict father for his children. His age is around 40 I think. Because he gets a promotion at his work the whole family has to move out Berlin to Out-with. (Auschwitz)

Mother; The mother of Bruno is very lovely for her children and always take care of them. I think she is also around 40 but I am not sure. she always does what father ask and doesn’t stand up for herself.

Maria; Maria is the family’s maid and moves with them to Auschwitz. Her age is around 25

2a) Explain the title.

The title is about Shmuel, Shmuel is a Jewish boy that lives at the other side of the fence. Because he lives in Out-With he has to wear a striped pyjama. Bruno sees him a day and he goes on adventure, then they became friends.

b) Do you think it is a good title? Explain your answer.

Yes, I think it’s a good title because it makes you curious about who the boy is and why he is wearing that. Also, it is a good title because the book is about him and Bruno.

c) Think up a different title and explain why that title would (also) be a good one.

‘Behind the fence’. I think it’s a good title because Bruno is very curious about the other side of the fence and what everybody is doing there.

3a) Describe the setting of the story (when and where). What is this place really called? Who live there and where is it?

The story begins in Berlin while the second world war takes place. Later in the story Bruno and his family moves to Out-With, that means Auschwitz. In Auschwitz lives Jewish people locked because of the War.

b) Who is the Fury?

The fury is Adolf Hitler, the leader of the Nazi’s.

c) Explain who Pavel is and why he is taking two jobs.

Pavel works for the family as a waiter. He is Jewish and that is why he has to take 2 jobs.

d) Why do all the people in the Camp wear striped “pyjamas”?

Because they are locked in there and so the soldiers of the Nazi can she they belong there.

e) Explain what happens in the air-tight room.

Bruno think they are going to shelter for the rain but in real once the gas comes they can’t breathe anymore.

4a) Who tells the story?  Why has the author chosen this perspective, do you think?

I think it’s written out of Bruno his perspective. I think that because in the book he always says father or mother and never their names.

b) Copy one fragment from the novel in which this perspective becomes clear.

‘Down from the top floor to the next one, where Mother and Fathers room was, and the large bathroom, and where he wasn’t supposed to be in any case.’ (page 9, 29th line’)

5. When Bruno and Shmuel meet, it is clear that Bruno has no idea of the circumstances in which Shmuel has to live. Explain why there is confusion about wearing an armband, the train journey to the camp and the fact that there are hundreds of boys in the camp.

Bruno his dad works for Hitler and that’s why he doesn’t get it. Bruno saw the war from another perspective than the Shmuel did. Bruno thinks is fun with all those boys at one place. He also thinks that the armband there just because Shmuel likes it but Shmuel has to wear it.

6. Give your opinion of the book. Use at least 50 words.

I would never choose this book for myself because usually I am not into this kind of books and I didn’t expected that I would like this book. It’s a great story about two children what makes it better in my opinion. The book was not realer hard to read for me but sometimes it was a bit confusing. I would recommend this to everybody because it’s a great book.

7. Write a summary of the story (at least half a page).

This book is about Bruno, he lived with his family in Germany but had to move with his parents for his dad’s work. At his new house he is bored and doesn’t have any friends. He hates the new place. After a couple of days, he sees a fence with a boy behind it and want to go there. He starts talking with him and they become friends. Bruno doesn’t get it and thinks it fun to live inside the camp with all those other boys. Shmuel hates it in there but can’t leave. Shmuel is the boy in the striped pyjamas. Shmuel lost his father inside the camp and one day Bruno and Shmuel start planning that Bruno can come inside to look for his dad. When the day comes Bruno gets over the fence and changes his clothes into a striped pyjama. They start looking for his dad but they can’t find him anywhere. Just as Bruno wants to leave a few soldiers come close and say a group of people has to go inside a thing. Bruno thinks that it is to shelter from the rain but that isn’t. When they are in the room the gas comes in and they die together. The days after everybody is looking for Bruno and are worried, but what they didn’t know is that he died.

Title Everything, everything

Author Nicola Yoon

Level

Create a MEME that is fitting for the book.

This meme suits my book because Maddy was shocked and angry that she wasn’t sick the whole time.

Character

Which words from this word cloud describe one or more characters from your book? Pick at least 5 words and indicate in which situation from the book they show this quality.

• Madeline is a very intelligent girl because she follows architecture classes with Skype because she can’t go outside to a regular school.

• Madeline is also open-minded because she has to think about options for things now she can’t leave her house. As example she thought about following classes on Skype and how she can chat with her neighbour.

• Olly is sporty because the is always climbing on walls and he also does like skateboarding.

• Carla is trustworthy because she is the only person (next to her mom) that she sees almost every day and that’s is why they have a good bond.

• Carla is also very likeable because Madeline’s moms says that there is nobody allowed in the house but once she isn’t there she brings Olly in to surprise Madeline.

Movie recommendations.

• The choice. I recommend it because the movie is about 2 neighbors that fall in love with each other but don’t think they love each other. So, they keep saying that they don’t like each other. I recommend it to Madeline (Maddy) because she and Olly are also neighbors that fall in love.

• Endless love, because the movie is about a boy and a girl that fall in love but their parents don’t want them together so they keep them away by each other.  Maddy her mom doesn’t want Olly to come over and meet Maddy even she knows Maddy likes him so much

• Blue Lagoon. It’s a movie that is a bit older than the once above. Its again about a boy and a girl that fall in love on an island where nobody lives. But I recommend this because it is on that island. In the book Olly asks Maddy where she would go when she can leave the house and then she answered ‘the ocean’. Maddy is always dreaming about going to the ocean and in this movie, you see that a lot.

• The fault in our stars, because it’s about a boy and girl that are sick and Maddy is also sick (if you read the book you now she wasn’t sick the whole time.

• Paper towns. This movie the girl that is escaping and her friends start following her. I think Maddy have to see this movie so she can see what will happen if she will go to Hawaii without letting anybody know.

• The last one I want to recommend is of course the movie of this book. I have seen this movie after I had read the book.

Choose one of these 3 assignments:

A. Make a fishbone summary of the book.

(Sorry I didn’t know how I could set this thing in my report so I took a picture of my screen, I hope you don’t mind it)

(At the red part is says ‘stopd’ but that have to be stopped I can’t change it anymore)

At least I hope I did the assignment correctly because I did not understood it fully.

Book Report 3 45-1 ENTL

1. Title.

The title of the book that I read was ‘Looking for Alaska’.

2. Author.

The author is John Green.

3. Publisher.

The book is published by Harper Collins.

4. Date Published.

This edition is published in 2013, but the first time the book was published was in 2005.

5. Genre.

The genre of the book is Young adult novel.

6. Short plot summary (about 75-100 words).

The book begins a week before Miles left his family in Florida. His parents are giving a party for miles before he will leave them and go to a school in Alabama. At his new school he becomes friends with his roommate Chip but everybody calls him ‘Colonel’. Miles (sometimes called Pudge) also becomes friends with Alaska, and he start to like her. One day they kiss even she has a boyfriend (Jake), after that night she disappeared.  The next day they get to hear that she died in a car accident. After that they are looking for answers about if it was suicide or where she wanted to go.

7. Explain the title.

The title is “Looking for Alaska’. This is the title because after Alaska disappeared they are looking for her. When they hear about her dead and that it was a car accident they want answers if it was suicide. They find some answers but not all of them.  At the and they find a letter where Alaska says that she had to leave because she forgot about the day that he mom died.

8. Describe the main character(s) in detail. You can include appearance, history, emotions, etc. Explain how their character changes/develops throughout the story.

• Miles is a boy that doesn’t have a lot of friends in his home town in Florida. He is a bit of a nerd and he can remember people their last words (what they say before they die). He becomes really close with Chip and Alaska. Later in the story you get to know that Miles got feelings for Alaska. In the story he gets a better person and makes friends, what he wouldn’t do before. When Alaska died he thinks that it is his fault but it isn’t.

• Alaska is a girl who has issues, for example things that happened when she was younger. She has really good times where she is really happy but she also has times where she feels really bad and then she can be a real bitch. When she was little her mom died and the is traumatized about that, too forget that she smokes and drinks. In the story she dies and nobody knows why.

• Chip is a boy that already got suspended from school several times. He doesn’t really care about what people think of him. In the story he is the roommate of Miles. He isn’t really open too other people but, in the story, he gets more open every day. Chip is that kind of guy that other boys want to be, not scared and rough.

9. Compare the main character with (an)other character(s) in the book.

Miles hasn’t many friends and is also really bad in making them. He is scared to meet new people but I the book he gets more friend when he meets Chip. Chip is the opposite of Miles. He has friends and is a bit of a bad guy that drinks and smokes.

10. Describe the setting: (The setting is the time and place in which the book is set). Is it a realistic setting?

Yes, it’s realistic. They are living on a campus at a school in Alabama where they live in a small and really hot room together. The book plays 272 days because it starts with ‘136 days before’ and ends with ‘136 days after.

11. What subjects/themes were explored in this book? Can you compare those ideas to other books you have read? Can you apply them to your own life?

• One of the subjects is the dead of a close friend, in this book Alaska. Other books I read also read about this (think about The Fault in our Stars and Thirteen Reasons Why). I can’t apply this to my own life, and I’m happy I can’t relate.

• Another subject is love, because for the first time in his life Miles loves a girl.

12. If you were in a problem situation like one in the book, how would you have acted? Be sure to tell what the situation is. Can you relate to the actions of the characters in the book?

Miles a Chip wanted answers about how Alaska died and they try to get those answers but I would just cry all day and not looking for those answers. Miles and Chips think that it is their fault because they did nothing when she left. I would also blame myself for that.

13. Did you like the way the story ended? Why or why not?

At the end they find a letter from Takumi where he says that he saw Alaska crying bout that she did not go to her mom’s grave and putted flowers on it. She forgot about the fact that her mom died 8 years about. I liked this end because you don’t think you get any more answers about why Alaska left or died. But at this last moment you know why she left.

14. Find two reviews of the book and include them in your book report. Do you agree with the reviews? Explain what you liked or disliked about the book. Would you recommend it to your peers?

‘‘I didn’t like this book. This is not what I expected to be. I hoped to find a book in the style of Stargirl (or something novel) and what did I find? A bunch of teens who try to ease their anxieties in their not-so-original vices and a sudden drama which leads to nonsense talking. All hiding, of course, in a couple of beautiful quotes that wrap all the ‘inspiring-sites’ on the internet, the reason I got to the book and I bet that you too.

Boring, it was so so boring.’  goodreads.com

I do not agree with this review because I really liked the book and it was not boring in my opinion.

‘I did not cry.

But, John Green still managed to hit me where it really hurt.

And it was awesome.’ Goodreads.com

I agree with this one because it was hard to read when Chip a Miles were so heartbroken from her dead.

I would recommend this book to girls because I think it’s more a book for girls in general. The book is easy to read, ones you get into the story.

Writing assignment’s

(assignment 1)

I think now a day gossiping is very normal and especially by girls. I think everybody does it every day and that how it became normal. It can be harmful for others but you don’t realize that when you are doing that. I think when a group of people gossip about one person its more painful for the person if he/she gets to know that. I also gossip about people to my friends even I know it not well to do. For example, when a person in the school wears something weird you can expect it. Most of the people hate it when people are talking about them but at the same time they are doing the same with their friends. You can’t stop the problem because you never know who started gossiping about a person and it is something everybody will always do. Some people are doing it to feel better about themselves and others are doing it because they just don’t like the person where they are talking about.

(assignment2)

Recension

I do not fully agree with JayCee because he sees Google Street View just as a gadget and doesn’t see the useful function of it. Besides that, Glen85 does see the useful function of it. He uses it for when he goes on a vacation or to explore the new neighbourhood where he is going to live. Glen85 likes it a lot and sees a future in it.

My opinion;

I think it is a very smart program because when you go somewhere you can easily see if there is an opportunity to park your car nearby. You can also see how a building looks like when you have to visit it. It’s much handier than a regular navigation because if you get lost you can easily recognize the street where you have to be because on the Street View you already seen it.

I also think that the makers of Google Street View did a good job. Now people can explore a city without going there. People can imagine what other cities looks like and maybe decide to go there

(assignment 3)

Dear John,

I live with my parents and brother. My brother is 13 years old and likes playing games on his PlayStation. He is going to the same school as me and is in his third year. He is doing a level where he is doing his lessons in English except Dutch, France and German. I have a normal house and my room is at the attic. I live in a city named Spijkenisse, next to Rotterdam. Rotterdam is one of the biggest cities in the Netherlands. In Spijkenisse we have a shopping centre with a lot of shops. In the centre younger people meet each other and hang out. Here we also have a cinema named Arcaplex, a place where you can go bowling and a swimming pool. In the centre we also have a Theatre named ‘The Stoep’. You can also go to Rotterdam. It’s about 20 minutes with the subway to get there. In Rotterdam you can do a lot more than in Spijkenisse. I go to a school that is named ‘De Ring van Putten’. On this school we have around 1400 students. The students are doing one of the levels we have. On our school you can do mavo, have or vwo. If you are going to do vwo you can choose to do it in English and that’s named tto. For all the students that are in there first year they made a special ‘wing’. In the breaks there are only students in their first your allowed. A habit in the Netherlands is to always complain about the weather. No matter if its sunny or rainy, here people always find a way to complain about it. Another habit is that most of the people go to school or work by bike. (assignment 4)

The aim of this research was to see which EBook is the best if you compare them in screen resolution, amount of emagazine in store, number of eBooks in store, battery life, recharge time, additional features and last but not least the price. They compered 4 EBooks; the Sony Reader, the Kindle, the Cybook Odyssey and the Movistar.

They used the following method. On all those things you could give a,-,+/-,+ or a ++. If you gave a ++ it was really good an a – was bad. They put the results in a table so you can easily see the results. The analysis us based on a study carried out by a computer magazine.

If you look at the result you can see that the worst one, Movistar, is the most expensive and that it is a waste of money. It scores really bad at amount of emagazine in store, amount of EBooks in store and in additional features. Beside that it was the most expensive one and that is something you would not expect form the results. Of all of them Kindle has the best screen resolution and also has a good battery life. The Cybook Odyssey scores the best on additional features (audio and image formats).

The best one is the Sony Reader. Overall that one scores the best and the best on the amount of EBooks in store. Next to that is the cheapest on, and that makes it even more attractive.

If I had to choose I would go for the Sony Reader because this one scores the best and is not as expensive as the others.
