Banana is a delicious fruit that should be included more often in the diet, not only for its exquisite taste, but because it is proven to contain very important nutrients that improve the health of the body. Some time ago we told you that eating banana decreases depression, optimizes brain function, combat hypertension and, in general, can prevent various diseases. However, thanks to recent research we have found a new benefit of bananas, specifically those that are fully ripe.

Bananas contain Tumor Necrosis Factor

As bananas mature, they develop a series of dark spots that invade almost all black skin and brown. Some prefer to avoid the bananas in this state because they are sweeter and the texture can make a little unpleasant. What few know is that the more dark spots have the banana, it will bring greater benefit to the organism and, especially, the immune system.

In a recent research it has revealed that Japanese ripe bananas contain a cytokine called TNF (Tumor Necrosis Factor), which is released by some cells of the immune system that have an effect on other cells in the body. This is what gives them properties that help fight cancer. Its effect is so powerful that it can fight tumor abnormal cells that are present in our body.

The function of this cytokine is compared with that of lentinan, which is a chemical immunostimulant applied intravenously and also acts as an anticancer agent.

The effect increases as maturity, that is, the more ripe the fruit is, the greater its anticancer effect.

More mature, better quality of nutrients

As the fruits ripen, they are considering changes in their nutritional value, increasing or decreasing their properties. In the case of bananas, it has been found that the more the higher level of antioxidants concentrated matures. Also, when you already have these dark spots, the starch content changes into simple sugars that are easily digested.

Banana, grape, apple, pineapple, pear, watermelon and persimmon: In the study by Japanese scientists, evidence associated with the consumption of different fruits were ripe. At the end of the investigation it concluded that the ripe banana is more beneficial than other fruit, as it has the ability to increase the number of white cells in the blood and strengthening the immune system.

To take advantage of this important benefit of banana is recommended to eat one or two pieces a day.

Being rich in potassium, ripe bananas decrease the concentrations of sodium, which can cause fluid retention and affect heart health. In an analysis of 11 studies published in the “Journal of the American College of Cardiology,” it determined that people who introduced potassium-rich foods in your diet reduced the risk of stroke and coronary heart disease.
