  • Must stop at Spanish village because of weather
  • Pilots decide through the players will to continue after stopping for the night
  • Went to Catholic Irish school where the brothers made them stop playing soccer and taught them rugby for moral reasons
  • Guido and Panchito are his 2 best friends.
  • Panchito was accepted as a brother and son in Nandos family
  • Nando believes he is a good son, hard worker, trustworthy friend, and an honest and decent person. He loves to live in the moment and not worry about the future.
  • After plane crash, Nando was in a coma and wakes up to find out his skull is in pieces and his mother and two best friends are dead
  • A voice tells him not to cry and that they are in the past
  • Shows Nando strength and courage to move on so quickly

  • Suzy dies and only 27 remain. Shows Nando’s strength to not give up after a loved one has died
  • Nando begins to question his faith. Is God even there?
  • The survivors begin to eat their dead friends so they survive. Shows determination to live.

  • The survivors begin to realize that help might not come after all. Lose help anddetermination.

  • Nando, Fito, Numa, and Roberto leave the plane to find help for the others that remain.

  • Group returns and avalanche hit the plane and buried it.
  • They digged a hole through the snow. Very tiring and many lost hope and gave up.
  • Nando has nightmare of getting cut up. Turns out to be wind against his cuts. Shows how he is now getting affected mentally.

  • They find the tail of the plane after traveling and it has more cushions and baggage.
  • They also find a battery. This can be used to turn on the radio and contact help.

  • Nando is very scared to climb mountain. Doesn’t have faith and hope and won’t know if he’ll live.
  • Nando gave Carlitos a red shoe. Helps hope
  • Begin to climb the mountain in warmest time of day.
  • Water bottle breaks
  • A member of the group almost falls off the mountain but Roberto saves him. They are in this together
  • So far it is a very long trip. Didn’t have a lot of energy to move
  • Roberto sees a road. Hope?
  • They plan on walking through the even land of The Valley. Only problem is the walk down from the mountain
  • None of them are very balanced and they’re weak.
  • Nando makes a sled for them to go down Incase they fall down
  • They get down the mountain and they see a man riding on a horse. Begin to communicate
  • Gain hope now that there is civilization
  • They throw rocks with messages on them to communicate
  • Farmer receives these messages and got the group food
  • They also then get help from the farmer and Nando takes a helicopter to find the rest of group.
  • Shows how Nando doesn’t give up or forget.
  • The rest of the survivors were rescued and placed in the hospital
  • Turns out they were on the mountain for 70 days.
  • Released on December 23 and Nando fulfills promise to be home by Christmas
  • Nando meets up with his sister she comforts him and welcomes him home
  • He then goes to a race and meets one of his favorite race car driver
  • All of his perseverance allowed him to live to this day. Had faith, hope, and trust in God.
  • Nando finally returns to Uruguay and meets back with his father
  • Decide to throw away any reminisce of his mom and sister to avoid pain and sadness of them not being there
  • Nando got married and began to live a normal life.
  • All survivors meet up every December to remember the ones who were lost and to celebrate survival. Shows the connection between them
  • Only 16 survived overall
  • Overall, the people on that plane were too close to be separated. They were a family in their own way and anyone who experiences a traumatic event like that automatically is. There friendship will live on till the day they die and they will always be there for one another.
