Essay: Hamas, Hezbollah & the Taliban: political groups or terrorist organizations?

Most governments in the Muslim countries all over the world are faced with significant challenges of dealing with armed groups who are trying to destabilise their governments. For instance, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Taliban some of the organized groups that rose up in a process that lacked a proper system. This organization rose up with the aim of fulfilling own interests. When viewed by the outside world like the western countries and other developed countries which advocate for world peace, they are interpreted as terrorist organizations because they have ended up pushing for political regimes in their respective nations making them be viewed in such a manner.
Looking at these organizations, where they originated and their aims, one can suggest that Hamas emerged in the country of Palestine, in fact in Gaza to be more specific. Gaza is some small and thin land bordering the nation of Egypt and Palestine. This organization can be viewed differently depending on its objective or aim it wants to fulfil. It can be defined as a terrorist group (Chahab  and Zaki 15). On the other hand, it can be said to be a social welfare organisation also it can be supposed to be a political movement. This organization has its primary objective which is to take control of the Israel country.  According to them, they view Israel as foreign cancer found on the Muslim land. This purpose of getting rid of Israel is what has kept Hamas not to join hands with the Muslim Brotherhood located in Egypt.
Hamas is organized in three ways basing on its leadership of the organization one is local, the others political Bureau and international leadership based on the world Muslim Brotherhood movement. Therefore, Hamas can be viewed as a political organization because of its aim to bring down the country of Israel using Jihad. The reason for them doing this is because of their wrangles with the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The reason why Hamas does not agree with PLO is that PLO recognizes Israel as a legitimate state. This makes Hamas conflict with PLO. Additionally, Hamas is viewed as the elite class in Palestine because it won the majority votes in 2006 election they also say they want to free Palestine. This does not make the citizens of Palestine happy in spite Hamas being a political organisation, and this brings riots.
On the other hand, Hezbollah emerged as a coherent organization. This organisation began in partnership with Iran, as a charitable group and violently militant group of revolutionaries who were not interested in politics. Back in the 1980s and beginning of 1990s, they were famous in the acts of terrorism. They later cooperated with Syria to spear up the Islamic revolution to prevent the invasion of Israeli into Lebanon. Both Syria and Hezbollah won this legitimacy to block Israel. Hezbollah showed a model of modernity and empowerment which has made them be liked by Lebanon’s large community called Shia (Haiduc and Noah 269). This has made other communities to view it as a threat, and they hope for its downfall.  As a coherent organisation, it later turned into a political entity which later was interested in Lebanese politics. Not only being involved in the Lebanese politics it also played a national resistance role which was openly challenged after the 2006 war.
Later, Hezbollah was victorious in producing a new head of state and also gaining some power in the cabinet. They were also able to put up the parliament in a span of one month. During the political violence of 2007, most citizens thought that Hezbollah would have access to the control of the government, but Nasrallah turned down such claims. In spite of this Hezbollah remains powerful and still seeks to focus much on the Lebanese politics. In summary, Hezbollah has made it possible to emerge from terrorist organisation to a legal government entity due to continuous public support.
Taliban came up in 1994 the factor of its emergency being the Afghan civil wars. It mainly consisted of students trained in the Madrassas in Pakistan. They have later accused by the most foreign countries because of their brutality in the enforcement of the Sharia laws. During their rule, they mistreated many Afghans most of the victims being women (Monitor Afghanistan Conflict). Their supremacy grew although they controlled some parts of the country. They also made decisions without the consent of the rest of the country. It is viewed as a militia group which is reluctant in sharing power with the government.
In short, Taliban cannot be viewed as a political group because of its harsh mistreatment of the Afghans more so women rather it can be defined as a predominantly Pashtun, a fundamentalist and Islamic group. This group took the rule of Afghanistan, and their rule came to an end in 2001 when they were toppled by the government of the United States of America, and later the group provided a home for other terrorist groups like al-Qaeda.
