In the many countries of the world, one would easily realize that not all people are similar. That is, many people making or forming the society are of diverse origin. People are different, ranging just from the same home state where the distinction can only be made on the basis of gender. Moving on the country several distinctions arises on the basis of the communities by which the people making up those countries originate from. The issues of the tribe and ethnic backgrounds now find their ways in. This is to say that no countries exist with exact people with equivalence in similarities and in all aspects.
The worldwide situation, this condition of diversity does not stop but rather manifest and even in some situation goes more intense than it is perceived in the case of the ground countries from which these things have their roots. The issues of the places and hence the association of various individuals to the places from which they originate from becomes a major distinction in this aspects. Color and another aspect of the so-called “differentiation” come into a display.
All through the domains perceived, there are some aspects that move beyond the lines of the geographical boundaries, the issues of the race is a big aspect that is seen in most cases. Be it in Africa, Europe, Asia, America, and the world in its totality, this aspect is dominant. The people of originating majorly from the African countries are generally black in coloration, a feature that gives them distinct from those from the rest of the world. This gives that the general name “blacks”. Another strong aspect of distinction is the religious faith. In the whole world, people are inclined to various form of religion in the world. The dominant and antagonizing religion, the Christianity and the Islam give so many distinctions in terms of the stipulations according to such beliefs.
So many things have resulted in people living and staying together in various neighborhoods. In most cases, the issues for such stays are fine likes of trade and other economic activities. In the past history, the merchants used to move from one place to another in search of these trade commodities from the various places that they were available. Most of the case, settlements usually arise in these areas of the trade when these guys realize that some places were good for such stays. The major trades of the world have an account over this.
Another aspect that in most case works in bringing people especially from the diverse origin is the case of intermarriages. Many people from the ancient time have found themselves in some other places inhabited by different people or simply people from different cultures due to the pull of the marriage forces. For instance, if a white man marries a black woman and they live in a white country, there are chances genetically of giving rise to blacks in the white land. Similarly, when the same occurs for the white woman, chances are there of whit offspring in a black land.
Apart from these, the aspects of the spread of some influences of culture have also resulted in this stay. For instance, as per the ” Letter from a Birmingham Jail [King, Jr.]”, the Christian apostles such as Paul used to move from one place to another and even leave their homeland in order to spread the influence of the Christianity culture to other places(King Jr, 1963). In the Ancient times also, the Christian missionaries used to move from one place to another to spread the Christian faith to others who were, in a way or the other, non-believers. In most case, these guys could end up settling in such places resulting in people of diverse origins staying or living together in the neighborhood. Adventures also result in this stays.
Despite all this diversity brought about by the rule of nature and other instances of migration, the different people in the neighborhood forming a society must thus live together. The community in which they live is formed by their presence and existence in that society. One would need another for the purposes of surviving. As the rule of nature says one live for the purpose of one another. This is to mean that every kind of person existing the surrounding is very important(King Jr, 1963).
However, in most scenarios, many peoples living in cosmopolitan areas do not see any good from other. Rather they see them as inferior based on a number of factors that are generally based on the circumstances of their respective origin. The case of discrimination on observed in some parts of the United States of America in between the Negroes and the people of the white race where the Negros is perceived as those that are good for nothing is as a result of the beliefs that they should be oppressed(King Jr, 1963). Expressing concerning in the reply letter from the Birmingham jail, Luther Jr expressed a lot of concern on how ill the people of the black origins have been treated and discriminated, tortured and even denied some aspects of the basic right. This has created in the mind of this people as inferior people who can do nothing despite all the frustration and sufferings from here and there created by the surrounding whites.
The term “ni**er” is the racial word used majorly to refer to the people of the black origin. In its deep meaning, it stands for people of the stupid origin. In this context, Africans are referred to this word that they seem inferior in the sight of others. This makes it worse in the essence of discrimination and racial prejudice in this country. In the text, the author gives an analogy on how this hate has been passed from generation to generation(King Jr, 1963). Explaining to the young child of a mere 6 year why she cannot attend some function in public domain is a scenario that if not logical but is forced into operation by the adult discriminators on racial ground. The child develops hate while young and even see the other races as devils that must be for at all means possible(King Jr, 1963).
It is noted that this kind of discrimination is caused by several aspects and even stimulated by the dirty minds of people. Humiliation expressed in most of the social places on the wall through drawings and statues on the nature of Negros is an aspect that creates just a mental picture of hate and cannot reform the society to unity. And this leads to nothing other than oppression of the other race in all mean in an indication that that is what they are meant for and that they are people who don’t worth living.
The segregation in all aspect of the societal benefits is a factor that sparks much more on this. The government through its laws and judgments discriminates. As presented in the letter, any course of action that the blacks are always opposed by the government and its machinery. The laws that are enacted are all against the will and good of the black people. The author of this text as he indicates it he is in the Birmingham city jail for having assembled. The strikes or demonstration is allowed by the government by the United States but here comes a scenario where this person representing the right of the people is deprived this simply because of the ill motives of racial discrimination. The case against his puts him in jail due to this.
The law of the society is purposely meant to see well, equivalence, and neutral to all people that live under it. Every person is not above the law and everyone is expected to observe it. However, the moves of the blacks are all opposed by these laws. Luther Jr in his reply later indicated the brutality that the black goes through in the hand of the policemen, and no action is taken in the redemption of this(King Jr, 1963). He indicates that just laws worth respect because they move hand in hand with the moral human being which is the sole teaching of the Christian faith but the unjust laws lead to the unjust society which should never be obeyed.
To this action, based on the circumstances that black races have gone through, it is right for these guys to look themselves as strong, wake from their situation of hiding and call for the just society(King Jr, 1963). This mechanism can only commence from the creation of the just laws that view all as equal and hence end to discrimination. He points out his disappointments with organizations which are generally mandated to ensure equality in the society. The church organization in every part of the world is portrayed to stand for the truth of what brings about a just society(Gutiérrez, 2009). The society that is full of tension worth nothing. In the common says, that together we stand and divided we fall, it is clear that with the division and segregations in the society, it worth nothing.
From the conception according to the conference in Aparecida, Brazil, the position f following the divine teaching of the gospel and the following of Jesus Christ is a task left for the poor people. In the text, the option for the poor is to proclaim the gospel and carry on with the theological work but this not the case. The task of Jesus is to ensure that all people in the society are just. The discrimination of the teaching of the word of God as relating to people of a low-class economy is something that is directly destroying the society(Gutiérrez, 2009).
It is now time for one not to sleep anymore but rather stand up and advocate for the right of the oppressed and to see good to all people. This is also to help them see the sense in them and mentality of quality rather than segregation. This should be done by all since harmonious stay is for the universal good.
