Self-development is a deep rooted procedure. Furthermore, it can be defined as the cognizant quest for self-improvement by extending mindfulness and learning and enhancing individual abilities. It is a path for individuals to survey their abilities and qualities, consider their points in life and set objectives keeping in mind the end goal to acknowledge and expand their potential. The aptitudes incorporate individuality, body, soul and also the level of achievement in every aspect of life. A definitive objective of personal development is to be a self-acknowledged individual, that implies, living intentionally at the maximum capacity and achieving genuine bliss in life (Beausaert at al.,2013). An individual will have various benefits due to personal development mentality and these include the following. First, there is self-awareness. Individuals realize their beliefs, values and their purpose in the area of pursuit. Once there is awareness, a person is able to chase the required goals and objectives thereby reaching the required destination. Second, a sense of direction is realized. A person is able to understand clearly thing in life which best suit them and as result of this decision making in life issues become easier to make. Third, improved focus and effectiveness is accomplished. In this case prioritization become easier since an individual is clearer on the objectives and also able to know the appropriate task which output the best result with the resources available at a given duration of time. Moreover, strengths are well known and this reduces struggles with personal development. Fourth, there is more motivation in the life of a person and this is because an individual knows what to achieve. Despite the task ahead been favorable, motivation exist since a clear benefit is seen. Fifth, greater resiliencies enhance. Even though there is tough moments, personal development skills and attributes enable a person to deal with any complicated situation in life. Lastly, more fulfilling relationships are developed. Skills needed to handle any problem are deployed once a complicated situation happen.

Self-assessment

Self-assessment is a tool or a process where individuals discover more about themselves, their preferences and how responsive you are to various reactions from different situations in life. As a student or any other person, assessment is an important tool to evaluate the progress and the level reached. The following elements need to be considered; clear performance targets, checking progress toward the targets and revision (Beausaert at al.,2013). In the first self-assessment, effectiveness is the key factor that is considered. Any student must outline targets which are supportive in promoting the achieving a certain goal within the given time possible. To ensure all this is achieved, a student need to be aggressive and determined to look for any necessary material that will contribute in reaching the target.

At this point the student co-ordinate effectively with the teacher so that anything that come across well handled by the student. In checking progress toward the targets, a student takes the actually self-assessment since the performance target is known. All these assessments contribute to personal development for either a student or a person who is working. Using this assessment, proper evaluation can be done to increase the level of skills and personal qualities thereby contributing to whole personal development in the long run.

My strength includes being aggressive in searching for the required information that is useful foe my studies. Using the available resources such as library books and internet in researching course work. Furthermore, I like acquiring hire knowledge beyond my class work understanding and this made me to go further in accessing the required materials.  Under skills self-assessment, practical activities are necessary to boost my understanding on the fields that are related to my course. Through practicals am able to gain experience on how to handle and use the available resources without wasting them. Personal qualities may include hardworking and self-discipline as a student. This scales me higher to the level of acquiring the best as compared to other individuals. Quality end result motivates me to work smart so that the required goal is achieved within the stipulated period.

On the other hand, areas of development comprise the following. First is been in a position to handle the resources in good manner without misusing the available ones. I have developed on how to manage the resources and out of these resources I have gotten the best result which have opened other avenues for personal development. New values are learnt and afterwards developed and used in day to day activities. Self-assessment enables and individual to learn new qualities which are necessary in handling personal issues that arise in school environment or in organizational field. Personally I was able to develop good relationship between the stakeholders in charge of the institution and this created a good self-image to the whole institution. Monitoring the progress towards the target was a key issue since sometimes I could deviate from the real path and this resulting to either not following the laid platforms towards the target.

A person with skills is able to produce quality work that is at hand. Furthermore, the available resources are not wasted since the skills ensure appropriate measurements and all necessities are well done. For example, in an organization where there are skilled people, quality output is met and this contribute to effective running of that institution. Moreover, a person with interest in a certain field for example in academic excellence, good results are produced since there is determination and self-drive which bring fourth quality results. On a situation where there is good personal qualities such as hardworking and discipline, the relationship among the stakeholders is of high level which in turn promote good working environment among all the members. On the other hand, in a situation where there is no personal interest among the organization stakeholders, unqualified results would be delivered which later on influence the morale of the management in the whole institution. Poor skills also will ensure the work delivered is of low quality which in turn would develop complications for the end users for example product sold to a customer which is of low quality. Lack of moral values in any occupation or in a school institution would result to indulgence to unlawful activities which are not favorable to the community involved.

Trait Focus and Personal Case

I would consider one personal quality which is a trait in the line of ambitious. Ambitious trait is one of the strongest personal quality which have a spirit of victory despite roughness along the rood of success. This personal quality act as a driving force in all direction of life and ensure commitment in adhered despite what the world offer. For example, in academics, commitment or ambitious is needed in order to excel. As a student self-drive is needed specially to continue in doing research and other extra class work activities which later yield good grates. In my life being ambitious has enabled me to move in greater heights of educations since I have been committed to my studies making sure I deliver quality work which would in turn produce good results. This character has changed how I handle responsibilities and this has created a difference in my life from other individuals.

Desired Outcome

With ambition an individual will develop attributes that are essential for success such as persistence, discipline, experience, creativity and determination. Irrespective of the challenges along the way depending on the field of specialization, an individual will emerge victorious and very successful (Stone & Wolff, Proper Ambition of Science, 2013). In accomplishing a worthwhile objective in any level and ensuring there is character development ambition play a big role in ensuring all these aspects are fulfilled accordingly (rowan magazine). Quality originates from confronting troubles and effectively persevering. This is the means by which we fabricate muscles, how we create boldness, and how life itself develops. These attributes are not accessible to the individuals who stay unmoving.

My identity has greatly been influenced by this trait of ambition. I have managed to excel in academic level and I have also ventured in other sectors of job creation for example in starting firms which have created employment to other people. Self- drive has motivated me to make many risks which have later emerged as avenues for finances. I would like to be the greatest entrepreneur and provide many job opportunities for millions of people in the whole world. Ambition trait is a powerful driving force for any person who is determined to make great progress in any area of life. Provided there is aggressiveness and confidence in whatever an individual is doing, then there is an assurance of abundance in terms of success.

Specific Strategy to help develop Trait

SMART goals strategy in full comprises; specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound.

Specific

Due to poor quality products produced in the firm, the goal is to add ten new employees in the business who will assist in production process. Extra cost of 100,000 dollars will add to my expenses every month.

Measurable

To establish this goal, I will employ two employees in every month for a period of five months. When all ten employees are employed my goal for extra employee in the business will be accomplished.

Attainable

The goal is attainable within a duration of one five months although some challenges may exist. These challenges may include mode of payment to the employee per every month. To overcome this challenge, I will allocate 60,000 dollars from the business to pay the salary of the first employees in the first three months. The rest I will get from the profit generated from the sales of the products.

Relevant

From my ambition I will be committed to look for sources of funds for the new employees. Moreover, I will ensure the products produced serve a large market in order to increase the sales of the products hence higher profits.

Time-bound

The goal should be completed and successful before the end of the five month. Every month evaluation will be done to ensure two employees are employed in the business.

Implement the strategy

Write up explanation: Bluebill enterprise firm undertook a project to employ new employees in their firm within a duration of five months. The goal for this project was achieved successfully on 25/02/2016 and all rules and regulation were observed accordingly. The firm has fully employed ten employees.

The strategy was successful according to the goals indicated. Every month two employees were employed in the firm to assist in production process. The challenges experienced included accessing qualified personnel since they demanded high salaries that I had approximated for them. Despite this I was able to get qualified employees after negotiating the salary payment.

Next time I would ensure I do not put fixed salary payment to any new employees in order to ensure I get the qualified experienced employees. Success was to acquire the required employees within the stipulated duration of five months.

Self-assessment contributes largely in self-improvement in all aspects of life. This is true according to my life since personal quality has been developed and new values acquired.
