Social networking sites such as- facebook/mySpace/twitter and the dozens of others that allows people to stay for in touch like never before.  However, some of the people spend so much of the time on these types of sites that it begins to really interfere with their lives.  Some of the psychological experts are referring to this is as a social networking sites compulsion or addiction.

Facebook has become- so much a part of our daily life now that it is so much prevalent across whole of the world. With close to a billion of users out of there, one can easily throw a stone here and hit a facebook user. The amount of time users are engage in facebook activities, like that- updating his/her statuses, posting of photos, commenting and liking posts here has also been increasing with using the smartphones and 3G/Wi-fi networks becoming most commonplace in recent of the years.

Given the process of accessibility and easeness of uses of facebook whenever and wherever we are, it is no wonder more and more peoples are addicted to the popular like social networking sites. We may ask, what is a wrong if we use facebook in frequently as a means of just entertainment, or as a means to just relieve our mental stress? Well, there is nothing to wrong. However, when facebook and other social networking sites activities start interfering with our everyday life and become detrimental to our daily life function such as- at the work and duties with hampered normal activities that might have a great problem.

As with alcohol/caffeine, some of the people are able to handle the social media or networking sites revolution that is sweeping the planet earth. However, more and more people are not able to handle it.  Here are some signs to look for that indicating a problem with social media/networking sites:

  • Spending huge time in the daily basis at the social media/networking sites.
  • Checking facebook or other social media sites whenever and wherever possible.
  • Tendency to over sharing at the social media sites.
  • Hearing from friends/family that he/she is spending too much time on the social media/networking sites.
  • Interference with the work and duties, school/college/university/office performance or offline social life.
  • Suffer from withdrawal symptoms if he/she try cut down on the time that he/she is spend on the social media/networking sites.
  • Obsessive type of thoughts about his/her friends or other aspects of the social media/networking sites.
  • Do reporting. There are friends- who often appear on his/her newsfeed with some of the status update, check in, posting of their photos/images and such type of the activities.
  • Looking always for new type of facebook friends in an almost the process of competitive way.
  • Escapism. If he/she are using our time on the social media/networking sites to always avoid conflicts or any problems that are really occurring in his/her real life. He/she can know this because, when he/she are down, he/she actually turns to on facebook or another types of social media sites to feel for better.
  • Losing sleep or insomnia to go on facebook or other social networking sites.  It is for bad enough if social networking sites interferes with his/her daily work, duties and studies. However, it is really out of hand if he/she stay up late at night to check for facebook, for example- he/she must wake up in very early to check it in the morning. Otherwise- staying up late is one of the characteristic of those who are overuse facebook/other social networking sites, according to some of the studies.

Addiction To Tanning, Cosmetics And Beauty Parlor

Although, many of the people enjoy the types of golden glow of a suntan and some of the person go to tanning salons and/or lay out at outdoors to achieve that look for his/her self, among them a small number will take tanning to the extreme label by visiting the tanning salons weekly or even daily basis. The risks of this types of compulsive behavior/addiction can be dire: Any amount of the indoor tanning increases/raises the risk of skin cancer such as basal cell carcinoma/squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma, it’s obviously deadliest type and we found, the greater the exposure, the greater the risk.
For some of the people, a poor self-image can translate into an unhealthy type of relationship with the beauty products. Are there multiple shampoos or shampoos like chemical substances in his/her shower caddy? Old facial creams gathering dust in his/her cabinet? Makeup, commercial makeup room/parlor and cosmetics are the types of products that are used for make artificial beauty, from head to toe. In other words, these cosmetics depending people can be called as- cosmoholic. Some of the expert may thought that- this addiction is not a serious problem, but it can quite be a handful. Once he/she start, there is no going back easily from here.

Addiction To Over Reading And Writing

Apparently, some of the people are addicted to reading and writing. Really, they are seriously addicted. It is not a chemical addiction, obviously, but excessive reading and writing can be a psychological addiction when it is used as a way to avoid reality. We know that- Reading and writing is an addiction when it is used continuously as a mechanism to avoid circumstances of the reality. A person can avoid facing real life by reading and writing all day. A person can also avoid really facing themselves by reading and writing all day. This is the only time that reading and writing really becomes a problem. The idea of being addicted to books and writing topics is tricky, because reading and writing is generally considered to be a good thing. But we all know that too much of a good thing can be bad for our as well, if it is hampered our normal and regular daily life activities for that.

Addiction To Viewing Television/ TV Serial/ Film And Movies

In recent times, television addiction has become a normal condition for daily life, especially amount the younger/become to youth, teenage school children and most of the adults who have retired or peoples with too much in leisure time. Watching excessive Television/TVserial/Film and Movies can create a major health hazard for any individual. As a result, one accumulates calories, indulges in food binging, has a general lack of physical and mental stimulation, and there are countless other negatives attached to watching too much that. Watching Television/TV serial/Film and Movies in moderation is healthy, but too much viewing is not good for us. But, excessive viewing of that is one of the major bad habits which impact negatively on the physical and mental state of the health. It is also known as-One type of compulsive addiction. In most cases people do not realize that, they can get addicted to that. They can’t skip a day without watching that or else they will feel very bored and sickly. So, most of the time – they are not able to maintain or, abscond his/her important duties and obligations due to illness for watching that.

Some of the people having a hobbies to collect and record his/her past history of self life in the process of documentary ways such as collect and record conversation voices, letters, pictures, dairy, poem, song, cloths, any type of gifts, audio or video documentation of any past events, documents for any of the happy moments that he/she passed before or special memorial events that he/she passed before etc. It is not a problematic though considered as behavioral addiction. But, It is a serious psychological problem and types of compulsive addiction when he/she suffer from state of anxiety, depression, insomnia, headache, body ache, irritability, restlessness, palpitation and hampered daily routine work for that due to memorized self history of past life. But, if he/she have massive desire for try to collect, accumulate or store of the hidden treasure in safe place or searching that in everywhere in spending every time and always stressfully think that, which negatively impact his/her real life then, it is called psychologically compulsion due to showing addictive behavior.

Addiction To Stinginess And Theft
