Flexible working hours: There are more public holidays each year in fact eight public holidays such as 25th of December which is the Christmas holiday. The government reduced working hours for the worker such as in 2011 the average working hours was 36.3 hours and 1950s; it was 38 hours which means more people have free time. Many people during these free times might visit different places in the UK. This is called Domestic tourism. Increase domestic tourism made increase growth of some travel and tourism organization for example Thomson therefore these travel and tourism organization offered more attraction and holiday destination within the UK for example Carlisle in Cumbria.

More disposable income: is leftover money after paying bill and necessities such as food etc. More disposable income increased because of the wage increase therefore people saved more money and spends it toward them and spends on more holiday and activities that is related to travel and tourism. This helped increase the growth and development of some travel and tourism organisation such as Thomson therefore these organisation offered more holiday and activities that is related to travel and tourism for the people. How much people save money earn and how big the family for example if people earns higher wage and has smaller family therefore disposable income is more effective.  There were huge growth in economics in one recession for example between 2008 and 2009.

Increased leisure time: There is lots of factor that help to increase more increase leisure time such as reduce working hours. This made disposable income to increase within British workers. This help worker to spend more on shopping and doing other activities. This made people lifestyle to change because of the increase of average salary. This is depending on how many children people got and how big the family is. The increase of technology helped the worker to have more leisure time such as vacuum cleaner and other saving devices. This made workers to change their feelings and opinion about leisure time. This helps more visitor shorter breaks such as seaside destination for example Blackpool. Increase leisure made more people visiting and staying in the seaside resort therefore seaside developed even more including more facilities to serve more people. Also this helped to increase the growth some travel and tourism organization such as Thomas Cook. This made these travel and tourism organization such as Thomas Cook add more seaside resort for people.

Increase of second home: More people are buying homes in the increased second-home ownership. When lots of people bought second homes that area. The housing price increase therefore other people can afford to buy second home in that area such as Cornwall. About 23,000 people have second home there. Lots of people own second in abroad such as Spain about 820,000 people of resident in England and Wales. This made these people to take break whether it is shorter or larger breaks therefore this helped to increased growth of some travel and tourism organization such as Thomson. This made these organizations to offer more holidays for people.

Tourism trends:

Niche market holidays:  Niche market holiday offer lots of activities and lifestyle for tourism such as tradition sun. Also offers specialist activities such as sports tourism, adventure tourism and much more such as The Amazon Rain forest. This type of holiday tourism attract smaller amount of visitor but offer lots of experience. After 2000 this type tourism had gone down but good thing about is internet booking people can book online quicker and easier rather going to the travel agent booking holiday over there. More people using internet increased because of the development of the technology.

Themed destinations: This type of destination got much bigger theme park such as Alton towers but smaller theme park often called purpose built attraction. These huge theme park got lots rides and facilities that serve to visitor such as roll coaster, restaurant, shop and much more. In 1980s some of theme park famous because lots of visitor went there. Now more theme park build around the world. This made more people visit theme park destination in aboard such as Disneyland in Florida. Furthermore, this theme park most visited. This made Disneyland in Florida to develop furthermore such as including more rides. This provided more option for family to choose. Also increase disposable income and increase public holiday made more family visit long haul theme park destination such as Disneyland in Florida.

Purpose built resorts: This designed for people to attract for visitor such as smaller theme park. This provide range of activities whether it is indoors or out related activity. These ideas are from Northern Europe but in the summer the weather could be changeable such as UK. In the UK most of purpose building attraction are indoor because to keep visitor happy and enjoyable while the weather is bad. After Second World War, more visitors visiting purpose built in the UK such as Butlins but soon decrease because other options introduce for visitor from the UK to book abroad as a holiday such as Center Parcs Holidays villages.  Now this purpose-built becomes more accessible for visitor from the UK.

Growth of budget airlines and availability of flights to more destinations:  From 1995, air travel sector reduce price for the people and the visitor. This development made air travel broaden to get into travel and tourism sector. This made to increase the size of low-cost airlines with other factor.  15 years old, some airline company experiences of decreasing short-haul within Europe such as Ryanair. This airline offered very cheap price for the people and the visitor which offered 1p. Each year, some cheaper airline increased visitor number such as EasyJet. This made to increase competition between airlines for example British Airlines. Market for low cost airlines increase the size more among with some operator joining in the UK and within Europe.

This will reduce saving left over money. The increase people or family visiting made niche markets further more. This made niche market developed more which means they offered more holiday.

Increase flexible work patterns and other factor such as shorter working week and much more. Increased people visiting and staying in Purpose built such as Butlins. Increase flexible working work pattern made people have more freedom to do anything in the free time and they will feel more relax out of work during these public holiday for example 25th of December which is the Christmas day. This enable people to visit more purpose-built destination such as the Butlins, Sandcastle Waterpark and much more. This happen t Other factor that made more people visiting purpose-built destination because of the disposable income. The increase wage made more people save money after paying bill or other necessities such as food. Increase disposable income made more people to afford to book expensive purpose built destination Ski Serre Chevalier in France. The increase of people visiting the purpose built destination and other holiday type destination during public holiday made some travel and tourism organization to develop even more such as the Thomas Cook. This made Thomas Cook to add more holiday choice in of purpose built destination and other holiday type destination therefore people can book more purpose built destination and other holiday type destination online or with travel agents.

Increase use of home computing. Increasing people buying cheap plane ticket (budget airlines) such as Easyjet. Increase use of computer, increased use of internet because the people can anything that is cheap easier and quicker on the internet. Many people book cheaper airline such as Easyjet because people can save money more and it is cheaper deal. This reduces people going to the travel agent to book holiday. The increase people using cheaper airlines made plane company such as Easyjet to develop even more. This made Easyjet to operate more regional and more European destination and more planes. All these factor made Easyjet to serve more people. As a result, increase passenger using Easyjet.
