Abstract:
This research will focus on homeschooling (traditional education). It will look into its meaning and its benefits for the child as well as the related effects to both the mother and the child. Specifically, my aim in this research is to investigate how a mother could teach English to her child by using simple tools which could be found in every house. Also, what are some of the psychological and emotional impacts on the child, before engaging in the public school. This research will be looking at previous studies which have looked at this issue and check their findings. In this investigation, the researcher will use questionnaires for mothers asking them about the use of homeschooling for their children under the age of 7. The researcher will suggest for the parents some educational games to be used with their children to teach them some English words. These games can be found in every child’s room. In the end, The researcher is going to a diagram to illustrate more about the study and give some useful references.
Introduction:
Because I am a mother of a three-year-old child, I spend most of my time with them at home. If I want to teach her simple language parts of building a culture of language and to create a dialogue and communication between her and me. Mothers normally never forget the beautiful memories of their kids’ first steps and words, because these memories came one time and cannot forget easily.
Few questions about how teaching English language using (homeschooling) brought me back to think about the advantages of the first years of a child to spend at home. The benefits kids under 7 can get at home are far greater than I would say the following years, so I believe in the importance of what is known as (emotional security) between the mother and her child in his/her early years. During those important years of child’s life at home, “the love” between a mother and child is very deeper and a near relationship and for this reason, the kindergarten has to offer as an alternative to the child’s relationship with his parent.
Every mother has the priorities and concerns about children under the age of 7of his (needs, interests, and the most important of them is education (English language). Some of the children get used in the kindergarten as a place for teaching and home only to sleep and rest, but to learn inside his house and with the person closest to him, this is surprising.
Teaching English in early childhood from the age of the child using (traditional education) of the most beautiful moments between the child and his mother, where the only education between the child and his mother. In a warm and quiet place, other the time and schedule of complying time and history which makes the chances of a child’s education to acquire a new language and skill before entering into kindergarten or school and enjoy both the child and his mother, the most enjoyable and the most beautiful moments for both.
Traditional education (games, books, simple methods) makes it fun and likable education of the child the love of discovery and acquisition quickly and continuously available not only on the inside of his house but instill in the surroundings in which they live. English homeschooling his style and skills of the mother to know and what? How do we deal with it? In large questions about this subject, we will answer them in this search.
Literature review:
Homeschooling or sometimes called (traditional education) means learning children or adults at home with parents or teachers by using simple tools in every house; The modern homeschooling movement began in the 1970s when John Holt, an educational theorist, and supporter of school reform. Holt called for parents to liberate their children from formal education and instead follow a method today known as “unschooling.” Teaching English to children at home under the age of 7, a great experience and distinctive for both moms and teachers who want to teach their children English language using numbers and letter cubes, paintings and how to draw, bedtime stories, coloring cards, and using pens and colors. According to King Abdul-Aziz kindergarten in Medina "Kids who have studied in their homes before their entry to kindergarten better education of those who have learned for the first time" which appoints that homeschooling English language has fruitful results in the acquisition of new skills not only education, also to socialize with kids the same age.
Kids learn best through with hand-on experiences, these early years with our children should be about fostering a love to play, explore, and learn. “There are basically two ways to go about studying child language experimental and naturalistic” William Grady (2005), through experience and exploration child can learn many of the skills and techniques to learn English at home by simplest of existing tools in each child’s room which number and letter cubes help the child to learn the English language and build a spirit of competition has, if shared by playing another child his age to facilitate the mother to the future child’s teacher is not only on the part of education, but also to build character.
“Some of the children described are in school; most are not yet old enough. It is before they get to school that children are likely to do their best learning” John Holt (1967), kids usually do not would they compare learning by playing not only for English ability even in their daily lives for example, reading routine (illustrated books, bedtime stories) a lot of moms and teachers English to kindergarten contend that the best skill a child can be mastered is reading aloud to a child is very useful as listening to the vocabulary and focuses on the images shown in front of him/her in the book and therefore compares them to find that the very focus of the child while reading from which to locate the child mastered the language and expansion of his/her mind through reading.
Significance of Research:
As a mother and at the same time student English language, and through my personal experience in the education of the child I wish to share moms to read the research and look at the most important skills to teach the child English at home and the important of a child’s education every mother wanted to be English language for one of the most important skills that can be mother of which give her child education, entertainment, and build him/her independent personal ready to go out to the kindergarten or school. It also puts into consideration the advice of a colleague to me at King Faisal University she taught English, worked for five years in the teaching kindergarten confirmed that children who have studied with their mothers in the home become absorption capacity have greater and faster to acquire skills, so I started writing in my search for the child and teach English at home before it went to kindergarten or school.
Research Question:
What is the role of homeschooling on developing the acquisition of English as a foreign language for pre-school children?
In this investigation, the researcher will use questionnaires for mothers asking them about the use of homeschooling for their children under the age of 7.
