After getting out of court house, none other than Sally Kentucky. “ You did good,Kate” Sally said. I didn’t say anything, I only stared menacingly. “ So this that Sally Kentucky you were talking about” Muhammad said. “ And you must be Muhammad” Sally replied. I don’t know what Sally was doing here. “ It’s a shame your boyfriend is a pedophile though” Sally said.  She laughed and slipped on a puddle of water on the ground.

"Screw you." I spat in Sally’s face. Me and Muhammad left and decided to sit in the park once before heading to Washington DC. We sat their, romantically snuggling.  “ You know, I spoil you” Muhammad said. I only giggled, Muhammad really knows how to make me laugh. I looked up at the sky, thinking about everything that has happened to me. Ending at thinking about Nick.

“ Nick would’ve been proud of what you are doing “ says Muhammad. I stayed silent, I was trying to hold back tears as I smiled. “ Yeah, he would’ve “ I said. “ Hey, I read Nick’s diary. He dosen’t seem to be the kind of person you told me about at first “ Muhammad said.  “ yeah, he was a real kind soul when he wasn’t baked off his ass “ I said. “ Well, there are several more incidents he witnessed to the ones from other-kids “ says Muhammad.

“ Really?” I asked. Muhammad nodded, he got Nick’s journal out. “ Thomas waved goodbye to the teacher, only for the para to slap down his hand. Then slap him in the face" said Muhammad. He also added that all of the students in the class witnessed it.” Muhammad said as he flipped through the book and stopped at a page. “We must do this…for Nick “ I said. Muhammad raised his hand in a fistbumping clench. “ For Nick “ Muhammad says. I nodded and we fist bumped.

 Chapter 25

————————————–

In the supreme court the next day, the BVB called this challenging of a unconstitutional bill an attack on freedom of speech. In their statement at the beginning, they said there usual lies. As evidence of the BVB’s wrongdoing. My lawyer read a letter to me from Nick. In the letter, he tell of how another incident unfolded in Agriculture class. The para with him and several other special-ed students witnessed The teacher threaten Thomas. She said, and I quote  " If hands go in your mouth again, I will take your computer away and beat you with it ".

Surely enough, he did.  The teacher grabbed and folded the computer and hit Thomas over the head three times with it. He was then brought back to his main teacher’s room. Surprisingly, no beating took place after the para left the room. “ All this happened because of your first amendment bill “ said our lawyer. “ You made that story up…” the president of the BVB said before being interrupted. “ Also, you state on your website that you are against violence, which is completely false” said our lawyer. “ Yes, it seems that you have supported many of the people who have committed these crimes in court. Care to explain?” said one of the judges.

“ Well, these incident they alledge have nothing to do with their so-called disabilities “ said the BVB president. He went through several incidents that have been reported to them. Almost all of them exaggerated. I highly doubt that, since their whole “ we are against violence thing “ was found to be a lie. Not only did they present all of Nick’s journals and audio tapes. They also obtained a new one of a para cursing at a student. It played out like this.

“ Thomas, sit down ‘ said the para

Thomas sits back down but gets up again a few minutes later.

“ Thomas, sit back down “ says the para

Thomas did nothing, he only stood their. This is where the para got mad

"Thomas, sit the f–k down. NOW! “ said the para, shaking the chair.

Not only did that audio tape leaked by a student help our case. Various little snippets from the website of the BVB and other groups assured the jury. Assured that their intention was not religious freedom. Rather, to dehumanize and discriminate against anyone who doesn't fit their mold of a happy, living human being. Typically on the website of the BVB, they will equal people with bipolar to pedophiles,Call children and adults with autism “minions of satan, and basically say they don’t deserve the same rights as us.

To counter this, a journal entry from Nick’s diary says something else. I read it aloud to the whole supreme court. This particular entry talked about a bad morning  Nick had. He was already yelled at by his dad in the morning when he called in the morning. He yelled at Nick because he was having trouble getting out of bed, threatening to come to the dorms and drag Nick out himself. Next, he got in trouble with a teacher named Mrs. Hank. She was a extensive member of the BVB.

She got after Nick when they were bowling in adaptive Phy-Ed. He was waiting for the other kid to finish bowling so he would get rid of any knocked down pins. Sensitive to getting in trouble and getting yell at. Nick was almost crying for the next hour or so. Why you ask? Well, he was leaning on a big, soft wrestling dummy. In fact, I was their. When I told the jury about this, I figured the story needs to be explained in more detail. So, I told it from my point of view.

“ I was in gym, my first class of the day “ I said. I went out to explain how and what I saw. I was on the sides, leaning on the folded up bleachers. I look to my right to see Nick in the other room, which was another extra gym. He was leaning on the school’s wrestling dummy hung on the wall. He was waiting for the other kid ( who was that kid who shot himself back in Mississippi ). The teacher told him not lean on the dummy and this exchange happened.

“ I am just waiting “ Nick said.

“ Yes, but I don’t want you leaning on that thing. That is not ok “ said Mrs.Hank

I leaned on one of the closed doors and peeked over the door to see Nick walk away from the dummy. I went back to what my class was doing and checked on Nick again later. You couldn’t see it in his face, but I could tell he felt like crying. I know Nick well enough to see such things. Later in Ag Pizza class, he was close to crying when I looked at him. “ Oh Nick “ I said. I can thoroughly say I feel sorry for him.

Nick may be  not perfect, he certainly doesn't deserve this.In Nick's own words, he was just having a bad day. " I am well away I shouldn't have been doing that. But it seems that Mrs.Debra Hank expects me to be perfect ".  The 2 members that have the most power on the board are BVB members. It seems they made Mrs.Hank the teacher on purpose to punish Nick. Raw audio files leaked from meeting support this.  Calling Nick and their various special ed students “ subhuman products directly from Hell “.

Again, I stress that these guys do no represent christians, baptist, lutheran, mormons, catholics, jews, mormons, and Jehovah's Witness. Their is NOTHING in the bible that supports discrimination against the mentally disabled.  While they are willing to let the mentally disabled live, they do abuse their power. This power over who is hired to be paras is used by them to make going to school hell for anyone in special-ed. One such example is a incident with NIck.

It was agricultural pizza class. Nick was working with a big group made of kids he knew from special-ed. The para that was with them, Ms.Amy Knots, was helping. He was quickly fixing something on a drawing he did. The teacher caught him and just when he was finishing. “ Nick, what are you doing “ asks Knotts. Nick stumbled to get his words out has he stopped and set his pencil down. “ I was just waiting for Malaysia “ Nick said.

“ You should know better. Don’t make me rip that drawing “ the para said back. Yes, this was the board’s punishment for possibly getting the BVB’s bigotry known. But anyways, our side argued that the laws and norms groups like the BVB, Autism Talks, The American Values Affirmation, Liberty and Freedom Coordination ( Advocates for right to discriminate against people with down syndrome and equals them to child molesters), and the New York Liberty Association ( NYLA for short ).

Our opponents played the victim card. They argued that I and my fellow christians were trying to normalize an unwanted lifestyle. Indoctrinating our children into the hands of child molesters. Any sane person would find this reckless. However they went on to accuse the leader of a well respected special-ed advocation group of false and misleading lies about them;leading to her getting arrested. Obviously, this only happened because of these group’s power in our judicial system.

If these guys were truly christian, they would oppose violence, hatred, and discrimination. But, these guys are a living, breathing, personification of the christian stereotype. You know, overbearing, crazy…anyone who has a different opinion is wrong. Yes, that stereotype. It ain’t true that most religious people are like this. However, I will admit that their are people who have done atrocities and commit discrimination in the name of religion. Christianity is no exception either.

However, these guys believe in a warped interpretation of the bible. One that is twisted to fit their beliefs. Their is nothing in the bible that supports discrimination against the disabled. Like I have said before. We were able to provide strong evidence of this law being used for abuse. For example, the abuse that has happened on several occasions.
