The scene begins from a first fixed-frame camera of the television. There is a high-key lighting condition and reveals the overall design and interior setting comprising of décors which are beautiful flower pillow, a cute bowl painted with pattern and a lot of picture frames on the television. These simple yet necessary settings and props told us that the narrative of the context which is going to happen at that place. (Image 1) As the camera continued stayed on the part, the practice of rack focus is applied to shift the viewer’s attention from the encompassing setting to the essential subject of the scene that is the character of Jean. (Image 2) There was a diegetic sound of off-screen sound from the television and on-screen sound when she was facing the television and laugh. There was a long take shot from Jean when shift to television and there contain the element of Cinematography which is over shoulder shot from behind of Jean when she is sewing her cloths.

The camera then frames Jean into a medium close up shot before proceed to her perspective looking outside the window. The emotion that she expressed is highly remarkable as she could makes us feel that she is really in the situation of the crime despite of acting. Especially when she saw someone is walking up from the stairs to her balcony, her face fully express the emotion of curious and fear. The kidnapper (Carl) peeps at the house to see whether Jean is in the house. Her face looks curious and trance for a while she saw a kidnapper standing outside her window. There were no dialogues or words spoken by the characters other than the sound that played from the television (diegetic sound). After that, the prop that has been used by the kidnapper is a crowbar. He used it to break into the house where there was a simple cut and it was mainly framed in over shoulder shot when the kidnapper looks inside the house and she stares at the kidnapper. (Image 3)

In this case, Jean’s facial expression in this particular scene has played an extremely important role in replacing what the camera has captured. Her face looks frightened and shocked. When Carl is breaking the window, she screamed (on-screen sound) and jumped off from the sofa. She quickly runs to the front door and trying to escape from Carl. On the other hand, Carl is still trying to break the window into pieces to get into the house (off-screen sound). Unfortunately, there is another kidnapper (Gaear) walking in from the front door. And there is a mid shot when Jean ran to the door and a simple cut editing between Jean and Gaear when he opens the door. Jean’s expression was mainly framed in a medium close up shot .This purpose told us that she is frightening. She tries to shout for help, but sadly she unable to do so. She is grabbed up by Gaear just to ensure that she has no chance to shout for helped. (Image 4)

When she is struggling to free herself, the movement of camera moves to the Carl while he was manage to break into the house. Later on, the movement of the camera shift back to Gaear and Jean when Jean manages to bite Gaear’s hand as he grabs her (Shmoop Editorial Team,2008). After Jean bites him, the movement of camera moves downward to her and shows that she is dropped off by Gaear and fall grievously on the floor. There is a simple cut shift back to Gaear while he is looking at his hand that has been bitten from Jean. There is an over shoulder and low angle shot from Gaear and Carl while Jean is running upstairs. A two-shot where Carl and Gaear, are framed similarly in a mid shot. Later on, the camera tilts up when Carl and Gaear running up to the staircase. The camera movement frame in full shot when she is screaming (diegetic sound) and run to a room to pick up the telephone. There was a simple cut on this part. She then picks up the telephone and run into the bathroom and locked the door. She is frightened, anxious and nervous. The shot was taken from the back of Jean’s when she manages to make a phone call for asking help. Unfortunately, the phone got pulled away from the chink of the doorway. This technique is effectively used to provide a perspective for the audience to imagine themselves in a situation like Jean. The way the technique is presented is the one that the kidnappers pull away the plug of the phone while Jean is managing to make a phone call. (Image 5)

Next, there was a music that came from the outside of the story world (non-diegetic sound). The music of the sound made audience level of their tension increased. Her expressions are also mainly framed in low angle while she is trying to ask for helped. There is an over shoulder shot that been taken from the part which Jean is trying to escape from the window when she could not make a phone call. The shot is been cut back into the bathroom door where Carl and Gaear are trying to get into the bathroom which has been locked by Jean. One of them frantically hits and knocks the door by using his crowbar. This situation makes audience feel more nervous. After a few seconds, the door has broken and they successfully strike into the bathroom. Immediately, Carl looks outside the window and the scene is taken from over shoulder shot. By this, it clearly shows that Jean is disappeared from the bathroom and her only escape route is through the window. Hence, Carl and Gaear could not find her. The full shot been taken from the scene when Carl running down to the staircase to go after Jean and Gaear is searching some medicine for his wound. The movement of camera is tilting upwards. The movement of camera of Gaear when he is applying medicine on his wound is zooming out. At that moment he is applying the medicine, he notices the shower curtain behind him through the mirror he is facing. At the beginning he may not know that Jean is hiding in the shower. But when he turns around, Jean quickly jumped out from there with the curtain covered her whole body. At there, there are different shots taken and ingenious used of sound effect. When Gaear is staring at the mirror, the background sound is almost silence, and at the moment he turns back, Jean screams (diegetic on-screen sound) and tackles Gaear. Because she tears off the shower curtain, the chains that tied the shower curtain are vibrating and create sound (diegetic off-screen sound). In addition, the scenes shift quite quickly to bring out some intension feel to the audience. The camera pans across Jean when she trying to run away from the bathroom. Because she is covered by shower curtain, she could not see and ends up hitting walls and other objects. However, she still insists to run blindly because of fears that get caught by Gaear. As a result, she fells down from the stairs, which cause her get smashed badly, and left to be unconscious. The camera pans when Jean fell down from the stair and the framing which has been taken from it is high angle. Later on, when Gaear is walking down the stair , the camera movement tilt downward and the framing that has been us in this part is low angle. The camera tilts downward when he squats down and uses his finger to poke Jean whether she is still alive or not. ( Image 7 )

In a conclusion, the characters in this film fully present their outstanding acting skills. Especially the female character, called Jean, who is the most excellent actor among three of them. In this short video clip, she could express her emotions and feelings as like she is in the situation of the story character. Last but not least, the way the film is captured is nicely suit with the storyline as well as the sound effect in this video clip provided. Everything is accorded nicely and this makes the video impressive and remarkable.
