Colorado:
The USA in general offers so much opportunity for an amazing holiday. I personally think you will love Colorado. With the largest elevation in the whole of the USA, Colorado will be perfect for you to ski on. Situated In the western coast of the USA, Colorado has a total surface area of 269,837 km², this is filled with stunning mountains and sights for all to behold.
The state of Colorado boasts 54, 14,000 foot mountains, over 1000 1000 12,000 foot mountains and many more smaller mountains. This scenery is utterly breath-taking and perfect for your ski holiday as there will be no shortage of places to ski.
Colorado is one of the main places available for Ski holidays in the United States of America, this by no means suggests that it is anything but spectacular. With around 300 days a year of sunshine, you will be able to see clearly as you are zooming down the slopes.
Climate:
As you are wishing to go on a Ski holiday, we can assure you that there is no shortage in snow in Colorado especially in the mountains. In saying this, you will need to remember to pack warm clothes even for when not on the mountains as in February, temperatures have been known to be around -15 degrees Celsius!
Generally, January-March can be very cold with high temperatures under 5 degrees Celsius. The temperatures rise slightly in April with highs of 9 degrees Celsius. This is all before temperatures rise to around 20 degrees Celsius in May-September.
Temperatures drop again at the end of the year with highs of around -2 degrees Celsius.
Best Time to Visit:
December through to March marks the ski season so for you wishing to go for the ski slopes, I would suggest that February is the perfect time for you to visit. This season will ensure that you get the best snowfall allowing for you to have the best time skiing and creating family memories which will last a lifetime.

Entry Requirements:
Like traveling everywhere abroad from the UK, you will need to ensure you have a full British passport. Because most UK citizens are able to travel to the US for tourism visits under 90 days without a visa. Like hood is you will not need a visa as you can travel through the Visa waiver program also known as ESTA. It is recommended that you apply for this ESTA at least 72 hours before you depart for this holiday of a lifetime. For more information on this, you can contact me at any time.
Language:
Like us the UK, the local language is English in the USA. In Colorado, another popular language is Spanish. Most of the state speak English though.

You should ensure to drink plenty of water on flight and avoid caffeine and alcohol. There is lots of information online about prevention of jet lag and how to help you through it.
Travel Insurance:
We strongly recommend that you take out an extensive travel insurance policy which covers winter sports activities. This protection allows for any injury’s which could occur during the sports to be treated properly and cost effectively. We will never advise that you travel without this.
Safety:
Although you are not first-time skiers and probably know all of the following information already, we would recommend you read and ensure the whole party understand the following ways to maximise safety on the slopes.
• Dress in layers, you should ensure to wear thermal clothing first as this absorbs sweat and helps to keep you warm. A warm jacket is vital also.
• Be prepared for changes in conditions, you should make sure that you are aware of the weather and when is best to go on the slopes or not
• Wear sun protection, although you are not facing tropical heats, the sun on the slopes can reflect from the snow and burn your skin. Wear a high factor of sun protection.
• Vitally, you should always wear eye protection. The sun is more dangerous at higher altitudes and can damage your eyesight. Correct protection covers you from this and also other hazards like tree branches etc.
