The Representation of Models of the Church

There are three different types of models and theologies within the church that hold the representations that human beings believe within the religion they follow; The Fulfillment Model, The Replacement Model, and The Pluralist Model. All three of these models and theologies have different meanings, being the reason why human beings choose which ones they will believe in to determine their beliefs, faith, and religions. However, the three different models and theologies all have similar backgrounds, coming from the same time period, AD, all around different times. These different models are all seen as different beliefs because they all represent the religions in a different hierarchy for people to believe in whichever religion is the right one.

The first model and theology within the Church representing the beliefs and faith in the Church is known as the Fulfillment Model. The fulfillment theology and model is also known as Supersessionism. This theology was founded and discovered between 198 and 209 AD. Christians and Catholics view this theology in 2 distinct ways. The first way believers of Christianity and Catholicism view this theology is, The New Covenant in Christ is a brand new fulfillment for the Mosaic Covenant. This view from the believers mean that they follow the belief that The New Covenant is superior to anything written before it in the Bible as well. The second way believers of Christianity and Catholicism view this theology is that it views the current status of Christianity and Catholicism in the relation to Judaism and receives all of its authority from Christ as well. The Fulfillment Model represents the beliefs for those who think certain religions fulfills and takes over other smaller religions.

The second model and theology within the Church representing the beliefs and faith in the Church is known as The Replacement Model. The replacement model and theology can also be known as Supersessionism, as well. This theology was founded and discovered around the same time, being in 198 AD to 204 AD. Christians and Catholics view this type of theology all in one particular way teaching that the Church has replaced Israel overall in God’s plan, “and the fact that God chose to no longer have a plan for the Jewish People anymore”1, as well. This type of theology however, happens to involve the Christian and Catholic doctrine, which has parallels in Islam. This view clearly means that Christians and Catholics believe that other religions and other beliefs replace each other depending on their true meanings and what they will determine for the all the different believers futures. The reason why the believers chose The New Testament and New religions to replace the originals was “because the new testament speaks on how jewish people were the first people, but as time goes on, it is and will be time for a replacement”2. This was written in the Bible which is why there are so many people across the world the do truly believe it. The way jewish people view this type of theology and model is by rejecting this theology. Jewish people happen to be very offended by this type of theology; Jewish people believe that God himself had never removed his everlasting covenant with the Jewish people in Israel that followed and believed in his tradition and faith as well. Israeli people often believe their covenant with God was never broken and can never be broken, because of what it says in the Bible, about the unbreakable everlasting covenant in God’s relationships with all Jewish people. Now that we know about the replacement theory and model, let’s learn about the Pluralist model.

The third and final model or theology within the Church representing the beliefs and faith in Church, is known as The Pluralist Model. The pluralist model or theory was founded and discovered in the 18th century and originated itself from the religion known as, Daoism. One view of the pluralist model is seen as a system or a model in which a wide variety of individuals and groups have equal access to resources and the mechanisms of power, meaning that everyone and every group has an equal amount of power, preventing one group or one person from gaining more power than other people and other groups. Another way believers of the Christian and Catholic religion view the Pluralist model or theology is as “an attitude or policy regarding the diversity of of religious belief systems co-existing in any born society”3. This means that believers of this theory or model view this as all religions are equal with power and opportunities, and no religion is better than another. Some believers of this model or theology believe that the pluralist model involves the co-existence between different religions and their divine separate Churches. The believers view the model or theology in this way because of the fact that they believe that God loves all religions and groups equally and that they are all of the same level of power and popularity because of the involvement of the co-existence in the World. The Pluralist model or theory is the only type of model or theory that allows people to believe that there is a co-existence for religions and people all over this World and that all the religions are equal with the same exact amount of power between each other. Overall, The Pluralist model or theology is the one people tend to believe in more often because people like to see equality2-3 and groups and religions with the same amount of power, because it will most likely reduce any hatred or fights between each other.

The three models, the fulfillment model, the replacement model, and the pluralist model are all part of the Church because they are different ways to believe how the Church represents Church and the power of religions. All of these models and theologies are important to the Christian and Catholic Church because of the fact that people choose to believe in whichever one makes the most logical sense to them based on the different models perspectives on religion's, power, replacements, and co-existences. These three models and theologies are all important to the Churches and the believers, but for all different reasons. The first model and theology again is, The Fulfillment Model, this model is important to the Church because, it is the only model or theology in which it focuses on the relationship between Christianity and Catholicism along with Judaism. This is important to its believers because, they enjoy seeing a stable relationship between these two religions, instead of them having a bad relationship and begin to fight. The second model or theology again is, The Replacement Model. This model is important to the Church because, it is the only model and theology that focuses on how the relationship between Christianity and Judaism is broken and God broke his everlasting covenant with the Jewish people. This is important to its believers because, they all agree that God’s everlasting covenant with the Jewish people is forever gone and that he did replace the Jewish people everywhere will Christian and Catholic people being his number one people and accepted into a new everlasting covenant. The third model or theology again is, The Pluralist Model. This model is important to the Church because, it is the one and only model that focuses on coexistence and equality between all the different people and religions they have chosen to believe in. This is very important to it believers because, they agree with this model and theology because it does not promote feuds between religions, but instead everyone is equal and no religion or people have more power than each other.

In my opinion all three of these models and theologies are extremely important to all regions and the Church. Human beings rely on these models and theologies, for their beliefs to have meaning to them and others. I think it is beneficial for these models and theologies to be a part of the Church because without them there would be no balance in the Church for people to believe, and all people would have to believe the same because there is no other option, meaning the world we not be the same as it is today because of there being no options or freedom of choice and belief. In my opinion, I agree the most with the pluralist model because of how its believers view it as a co-existence in the world and no religion or human being is better than another. I think that it is the perfect statement when it comes to human beings and religion especially, meaning that no human being is better than another, and no religion will ever be better than another because they all share a co-existence. In conclusion, these models are important and have a huge connection with the Church because the set the basis of where human beings view a representation from the Church which forms their beliefs.
