Statement of Purpose

The present world is the world of technology. Computer science is playing a crucial role in today’s world. More and more countries are increasingly moving towards a digital economy. The sovereign governments can take important and useful inputs through mining patterns from vast ocean of data and efficient use of technology, in the formulation of economic and social policies and programs.
The contribution I can make to this fast changing societies by dedicating myself to the effective use of technology by increasing my knowledge and upgrading my skills. I can commit to contributing toward the increase of power of self-expression and informed decision-making ability by all concerned for the overall benefit of the society.
I introduce myself as a graduate student. I have done my graduation in Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science with the CGPA of 6.84 from Chitkara University, which is one of the most reputed institutes of the region. After learning the fundamentals of Computer Science engineering, I aspire to reach the zenith in the field of computer science, with specialization in information management and data science.
I had an opportunity to do internship at Tech Mahindra Private Limited – A well-known IT company in India. This internship helped me in enhancing my capabilities to deal with obscure realities and to use academic knowledge in the handling real life situations and will be a defining experience. During my internship, I understood that in order to progress and evolve further in my career in the present fast changing technological era , I have to gain more knowledge and transform my skills. For this a Master's degree in Applied Computer Science will not only keep me updated about the new technological advances, but will also give an overall understanding of the nitty-gritty of the industry.
To supplement my academic knowledge, I have also undergone two months Corporate Training with Wadhawan Holdings Pvt. Limited – a holding company of a large well-diversified group of India Inc. During the corporate training, I got an exposure to commercial aspects of business and also got an insight into the linkage of technology to commercial aspects of the business and how technology can contribute to the growth of any business. In order to augment my commercial understanding, I have also passed the foundation level of CMA course of ICAI.
My Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science has provided a strong technical platform to I feel the need to further upgrade my knowledge level, as it would bring me closer to the kind of technical expertise I require to fulfil my professional desires.
I have a learning attitude and a firm believer that learning is a continuous process. I learn not only from theoretical knowledge but also from practical experience, challenges, and unrehearsed tasks. I not only have a vision, but I compliment it with proper planning and hard work. I continue to strive hard till I get the desired results. I am not a student ,who concentrates on academics alone but also from other areas also. While maintaining a right balance between academics and extra-curricular activities, I have participated in many extra-curricular activities, cultural events, sports and have won the cricket tournaments. After being recognized as a person with good leadership qualities and motivational skills I was assigned a key role in the core team to organize events held at the university.
I come from a highly educated family which has excelled in academic filed and are doing well in their respective professional life. This has motivated me and has developed a keen desire to continue my journey of gaining more knowledge in my life. The Masters in computer Science in Dalhousie University of Excellence, which will provide me an opportunity to realize my dreams of exploring and contributing new vistas in the chosen field.
I am convinced that Canada is the best place to pursue my post graduation, as it has an education system with higher standards ,global recognition and more emphasis on research methodologies. Canadian culture is one of the most diverse and vibrant culture. It is very peaceful, safe and diverse country. I will have an opportunity to interact with people around me who from different parts of the world and from different cultures which will help in development of my overall personality. Dalhousie University is one of the oldest ,diversified and highly reputed universities in Canada. Dalhousie University is a public university located in the beautiful city of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The facilities offered by Dalhousie University will help me to gain knowledge in my academics as well as in my social, recreational and personal development. I look forward to strengthen my knowledge in Computer Science during my MS, and also to learn about other advance research opportunities.
