Paste your essay in here..Today the world is literally flooded with pornography. It can be found everywhere: in advertising, fashion, movies, songs, magazines, TV shows, video games, smartphones, and other mobile devices. It seems that pornography has become an integral part of modern culture. Never before has it been so omnipresent. All continents, countries, cultures, religions are affected but this “Mental Drug”.

What would Aristotle think about this entertainment? According to our textbook, Aristotle thinks that all kind of art, movies is good for person development (pg. 83). The Aristotle lived in a different century, where sexual pictures and statues were also exposed to all community. He would agree that we could learn something good from everything even from pornography. Should we use it as a statement that pornography is not that bad if watched only ones in a while? My answer will be, “No.” As every philosopher Aristotle had his own ideas that don’t mean they are all correct and can be applied to this topic. In his famous 40 quotes he said, “ The aim of the wise is not to secure pleasure, but to avoid pain” (www. Geckoandfly.com). Let get closer look what is pornography and why it is such poison to our mind and morality. Is it question of pleasure or pain?

According to dictionary the pornography means, “sexually explicit videos, photographs, writings, or the like, whose purpose is to elicit sexual arousal” (www.Dictionary.com). Pornography destroys morality.  Our conscience leads us to the preservation of purity, to respect personal moral dignity. Consumption or participation in pornography, on the contrary, it is impure, depraved and morally vicious.  Pornography also violates the norms of social morality. It could be define as Universal theory since people of literally all nationalities define it as evil.

People who watch porno often hide their addiction. They are closed and insincere. Not surprisingly, many of them suffer from feeling of loneliness, shame, nervousness, depression and anger. Some even have thoughts of suicide. All this because the person who access to pornographic materials is like drug addicted, that look for new portion and can not leave without it. Despite the porno is illegal in most of places and major cause of divorce and sexual violence. The dependent gets more and more addicted and looking for more and more coarse to get a high. All this lead that porno addicted person prefers “false” word of love and sex then his spouse. The images that were previously considered as shocking, violating moral ethics, illegal, disgusting and immoral, are beginning to be perceived by porno victim as acceptable and ordinary. In Philosophy Compass, Watson wrote, “The proliferation of pornography on the Internet and with it easy‐anonymous access are, in addition to the cooptation of sexually explicit images in more mainstream media, understood to reflect a declining public morality, a decline, which conservatives argue, seriously threatens the overall stability of civil society” (2010).

The person begins to repeat what he sees in pornographic films and photos, in real life, including violence and perversions.  The main harm of pornography is that it destroys the thin threads of internal family relationships.

Such materials are harmful when they fall into the hands of children. Pornography teaches children that sex can be deprived of all love, can be practicing outside of marriage.  There is also the most disgusting kind of pornography, child pornography. It causes terrible harm to those children who are involved in such materials, and is the sexual exploitation of children. Sexual abuse of children is inextricably linked to child pornography.

Porno dependence can lead to the fact that a seemingly normal person begins to commit murder if the victim does not want to participate in sexual act. “Many of the witnesses who testified at the public hearings held on the Ordinances were survivors of sexual violence through pornography (both men and women, but primarily women). Victims testified as to the ways in which pornography was used as an “instruction manual” during the commission of rapes” (Watson).

At the same time, women throughout the world are sexually exploited and violence is also a main factor in discrimination of women because of porno industry. The sexual violence against females is determined by the existence of some factors that occur at individual and social, family, political and legal level (Simona 1). According to U.S. Department of Health in the United States, more than 5 million women are abused by an intimate partner each year. Sometimes, strangers commit the sexual violence, but in most cases the victim knows very well the aggressor. It could be boyfriend, intimate partner like a husband, ex-husband, or stepfather. In most of case the abused woman feels that all is her fault and continue to live with aggressor. On the other side they also talk about women who wants to leave the attacker but less financial stability, kids or fear to leave make her to continue to live in the same situation. Sexual violence is always wrong and a victim needs a government and psychological support to bring them back to a “healthy” relationship.

In the same way, around the world millions women are missing because of capture for the purpose of sexual exploitation. According to the Christine Joffers and others it is an estimated 800 000 women and children are trafficked each year across international borders with 80% ending in forced sex work. Again women are the principal victims of human trafficking, because of sex industry. “The majority of trafficked persons are young women or children who have been forced into sex work as a result of poverty, often before they were 18 years old ” (Joffers 2).

The civil rights approach defines pornography as follows: “Pornography is the graphic sexually explicit subordination of women, whether in pictures or words”, that also includes further conditions such as: women are presented as sexual objects who enjoy pain or humiliation; or women are presented as sexual objects who experience sexual pleasure in being raped.15 ( Citation   ).

We used data on 20,000 ever-married adults in the General Social Survey to examine the relationship between watching pornographic films and various measures of marital well-being. We found that adults who had watched an X-rated movie in the past year were more likely to be divorced, more likely to have had an extramarital affair, and less likely to report being happy with their marriage or happy overall. We also found that, for men, pornography use reduced the positive relationship between frequency of sex and happiness. Finally, we found that the negative relationship between pornography use and marital well-being has, if anything, grown stronger over time, during a period in which pornography has become both more explicit and more easily available ( Doran).

In sum, pornography provides both abstract and specific scripts supporting the perspective that extramarital sex is normative and rewarding.

Correspondingly, several cross-sectional surveys have found that individuals who consume more pornography express more positive attitudes toward extramarital sex than individuals who consume less pornography.
