-The main reason why I decided to pursue BA Early Childhood Education is that in my school I saw some special children who are engaging with children who can do things independently. It was very inspiring to see what kids can do. I plan to do be a preschool teacher in the near future.  I love working with young children especially now that I have my own kid and she is two years old. The amount of happiness that children can give you or other people is very rewarding even though you’re having a rough day. They can help you ease a very stressful day. Another goal for me is to provide the help that each child needs to be successful in life.

– One of the issues I found remarkable is the obesity in younger children. The definition of obesity is when a person's body fat is high enough to cause an ill effect on their health or lifespan. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), designates being overweight as above the 95th percentile for age and sex, and at risk for being overweight between the 85 and 95th percentile (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2009).

Factors to Childhood Obesity:

• Reduction in physical education and recess periods

• Drinking more sodas, juices and junk food availability in the home and school

• Parents choose an easy option in making dinner

• Fast Food Chain

• Large portions in restaurants

• Lack of physical activities

In the last sixteen years, the number of kids that are overweight grew staggeringly. Throughout this point, the affected numbers of childhood fleshiness have grown. A dynamical issue that impacts children's’ consumption habits would begin within the childcare center. The provider's job is to form positive that the children to eat with healthier meal choices and a lot of access to outside activities wherever the children are developing their gross motor skills.

– In the last sixteen years, the number of overweight children 2-19 years old has full-grown staggeringly. one in every of the chance factors for fatness is poorness. Some problems that cause the matter is folks are lack of education on what they ought to feed their children and a busy schedule at work. Most of the kids nowadays are in child care centers. One issue that may impact children's’ uptake habits would begin within the child care centers. it's our responsibilities as childhood educators to induce the kids a lot of concerned in condition and healthy uptake habits. it's additionally our job to supply children healthier meal choices and a lot of access to outside activities wherever the kids are developing their gross motor skills. it's necessary for the childcare suppliers to participate in uptake the healthier choices with the kids and inspiring the kids to eat the healthier choices. The caregivers would have interaction in physical activities with the kids and encourage the kids to participate.  With associate degree earlier begin to uptake healthier in life and is excited to participate in physical activities, children can still create healthier uptake decisions and become a lot of physically active throughout their lives.

– The learning approach I'm most associated with is that the inventive program. inventive program lecture rooms are structured into interest areas designed to support social, emotional, intellectual language, and physical development. Play and physical activities function the foundations for learning. Dodge's model includes eleven interest areas that ought to usually be out there in educational institution lecture rooms. These embrace art, blocks, computers, cooking, discovery, dramatic composition, music, and movement, outdoors, sand and water, toys and games (Creative Curriculum,1992).The interest areas are out there at the same time, permitting kids to self-select a locality and have the openness to the discover areas in periods of your time throughout the day. every space provides opportunities to assist kids with their development, together with social and emotional, or effective, development. it's supported as they move with alternative kids and adults. The inventive program helps kids effectively come through their goals and demonstrate ability with their self-selected activities. The inventive program learning approach would be a helpful model for infancy education as a result of at this stage in their life’s students have an interest in and are driven by their interests. this sort of learning approach influences social and emotional development. It conjointly encourages vital thinking and promotes discussion, expression, and communication. The inventive program stresses active learning through discovery, as kids usually have varied ways in which to precise their thoughts and demonstrate their learnings.

– The theory I related with in regards to children's learning would be Piaget's Theory of Cognitive Development. Piaget identified four sequential stages of cognitive development. Piaget had suggested that the rate of development within a stage is dependent on two factors – biological and environmental. The biological factor was maturation and the environmental factor was called experience. The stages of development are the sensorimotor stage from birth to age two, the preoperational stage from 18 months to two years until age seven, the concrete operational stage from age seven until 11 and the formal operational stage from ages 11-15 through adulthood (Estes, L.S., & Krogh, S. L. (2012). Piaget's theory is important to recognize because it will help us know what stage of development a child is in. I will be able to use this theory in my future teaching style based on the stage of development of the child. This can also help me to provide the appropriate help on each child that I have in class.

– Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) is set convictions or the prescribed procedures of showing kids from birth to age 8. DAP empowers parental figures/educators to settle on decisions on their educational modules dependent on their insight into youth instruction, the kids' needs, and their social and social contrasts. My first connection that associate with DAP would realize what is socially critical. All children are novel and originate from a wide range of social foundations. It is essential to become acquainted with the children's family and discover what their family values are. This would assist me to give important, applicable and a conscious learning knowledge for the kids. My second connection would be recognizing what is separately fitting. I would watch the children during play time and find out about what they are powerful on, what their capacities are and how they are creating.

-Three things I learned while scanning thru the NAEYC site would be that the years for a kid are tied in with creating relationships.  And in a childcare program, associations with families are basic (http://www.naeyc.org/dap/newborn children and little children). The second was that a successful instructor or childcare supplier picks their procedure to fit certain circumstances. In the event that we are adaptable and attentive, we can figure out which procedure would be best. The third thing I learned was that when kids begin school, the ones in the least financial gathering have normal psychological scores 60% lower than those of the most prosperous gathering (http://www.naeyc.org/documents/naeyc/record/positions/PSDAP.pdf).

– The developmental domain in which I have the strongest foundation is the cognitive domain. The cognitive domain includes intelligence, cognitive development, and language development. Children develop their thinking skills, problem solving and memorization by interacting with other children. Cognitive development has section three subtopics: physical knowledge, socio-cultural knowledge, and logical-mathematical knowledge.  By understanding the development domain we will know where a child needs a little more assistance because it is important to make sure as a provider to determine what they needed in order for them to develop well same as other children. One thing that we need to make sure is that no one in your class should be falling behind from others.

-An effective way to have an essential relationship between the parents and the provider is a good communication. Getting parents to include in their children’s daily activity will be a good start to get them to involve. Letting the parents know the progress of their kids is another way to put their minds at ease. As a caregiver, we have developed a sense to recognize that it is good to wait a while before responding to the child to help them learn to be independent (Estes, L.S., & Krogh, S. L. (2012). This means that every child has a stage that they go thru to make sure they meet every criterion in moving to the next step. One of the things that I have personally encounter with child care providers. They offer after work care for free for a few hours to let the parents have their own time. It is very beneficial for parents to have that time off to rejuvenate themselves from a long day at work. It is very important to let the parent take care of themselves too not just the children.
