Logic
The rapper Logic, known so far for his 3 times platinum record 1-800-273-8255, was born in Rockville, Maryland on January 22nd 1990. He was born under the name Sir Robert Bryson Hall the second. He was born into a family living in section 8 housing and welfare, not to mention his family was constantly receiving eviction notices. His father, Robert Bryson “Smokey” Hall was addicted to crack cocaine, he was an alcoholic, and constantly with other women, he was also african american. His mother was also an alcoholic and a drug addict, she however had men in and out of the house and often got beaten by these men, sometimes right in front of a young logic, she would also beat him sometimes too, she was caucasian. According to logic, she had read in a book that disciplining your child for no reason was a good thing to do, she also had times where she would deprive him of sleep and whenever he would dose off, she would wake him up, and he would be exhausted at school the next day. Logic is the only child in between his mother and father, he does however share a couple of brothers and sisters, who unfortunately fell victim to drugs and the streets. When he was 5 logic went on a car ride with his father in inner DC, his father then picked up a girl and went to a motel and did drugs with the girl and had sex with her, all while logic was in the car, alone for 6 hours.
Logic was pulled out of school in 5th grade and stayed out until 8th grade. His mother would “homeschool” him in that period of time, as you can tell she didn’t really homeschool him, she would make him listen to Frank Sinatra, this is how logic would develop the love he has for frank sinatra, who to this day, he still listens to regularly. That would last a couple of hours and in the rest of the time he had in the day logic would go outside and skateboard, this is how he obtained the skill he has currently, by skateboarding for hours everyday for 3 years. Logic somehow made it into 8th grade with his 5th grade education. Logic would stay in school until sophomore year, where he would get kicked out of highschool. In this time logic would see many horrifying and traumatic things. He would see guns in his house hold, crack being cooked in the kitchen, his father sleeping with many women and smoking crack and drinking, his sister and his mother being beaten by men, many nights logic would be crying in his bedroom with no one to help, luckily he has never taken a life. Logic would then be taken in by his god mother mary joe, who had treated him very well for the next few years. Logics dad took him to a studio one day when logic was 15, and logic went in the booth and rapped for 45 minutes straight.
When logic was 17 he moved out and was working multiple jobs at once, he had nights where he didn’t know where he was even going to sleep. He worked at places in Gaithersburg, Maryland such as Joe's crab shack, wingstop, super markets, and gas stations. He would come home to 8 hours of sleep and spend 5 or 6 hours of that time working on music, standing in front a mirror pretending to see thousands and thousands chanting and cheering his name. He would set up his own shows at joe’s crab shack and whatever else he could. One night he was opening for Ghostface Killah, when he met one of his future best friends big lenbo. After being friends for a while logic came to lenbo with a request he requested if lenbo could give him one year to sign to a label and let him live in his basement. Lenbo said yes and put food on his plate and clothes on his back. Logic was extremely grateful and spent literally all day long working on music, often working for 2 or 3 days straight trying to make it. Logic had developed an alter ego named Young Sinatra, named after one of his favorite artists Frank Sinatra, this alter ego was an on the come up type of logic, where he just rapped and said anything he wanted since he had nothing to lose. Almost a year to the day, logic signed with legendary music group named Def Jam, home to Kanye West, Big Sean, Nas, etc.. He told his beat maker 6ix, who he had met at a beat making contest in maryland, to drop out of his last semester of medical school to move with logic to LA to work on his first album. 6ix said yes and logic went onto ask lenbo to quit his land surveying job of 16 years to also move to LA with him. Since logic left home at 17 he released 4 mixtapes, Young Sinatra (2010), Young Broke and Infamous (2011), Young Sinatra: Undeniable (2012), and Young Sinatra: Welcome to forever (2013).
When him and his team moved to LA they started to work on logics much anticipated debut album named Under Pressure. Under Pressure was released on october 21st, 2014. The album debuted at number 4 on the US Billboard top 200, which isn’t bad for a young kid out of Rockville, Maryland. Under pressure went on to sell 72,000 copies in its first week. Many fans consider this album his best album, with hits such as gang related, soul food, etc. The album included features such as Big Sean and Childish Gambino, both of who are good friends of logic. He went on to do the under pressure world tour.
On November 13th, 2015, logic dropped his sci-fi sophomore album named The Incredible True Story. The album debuted at number 2 on the billboard top 200 and sold over 100,000 copies first week This is personally my favorite album. It tells the story about how in 2023 Japan and the USA had united and formed a super nation. Famine struck the earth and animals and crops had died off incredibly rapidly due to the pollution we had put in the earth's atmosphere. Japan and the US create a technology to create genetically engineered meat that in raised in an unconscious state and then killed to be fed to the people. The fastest way to create and distribute this meat was through china. America contacts russia, who now have a royal family, to hire them to secretly assassinate the president of china. Russia agreed but the price was land, russia wanted alaska. So the US gave them alaska. Russia goes through and the president of china is killed and the war in this timeline is over. A secret treaty is to be signed by Russia and America, but as soon as the King of russia steps in america, he falls dead of cardiac arrest. The king’s 20 year old son knew it was all a scam, so he gets really mad and declares nuclear war on the US. When the nuclear bomb was exploded, he poisoned the earth and the water, and because of this all of the first world countries had to move into one location in central america. In effect a super city named babel was created. Eventually this poison got into the earth’s ecosystem. So they created a chemical that would purify the water, but billions of people started to die, and nobody knew why. It was because the genetically enhanced meat mixed with the chemicals, creating an insane virus that plagued humanity, they calculated how quickly they were dying and decide they couldn’t live on earth anymore. And within a 10 year span, we created a babel space station that held 5 million people, we flew everybody up there and left earth in 2065. In the album, thomas and kai are pilots on board a spaceship called the aquarius 3, trying to desperately find the planet paradise. Unfortunately, this is not a novel, although i wish it was. Logic ended up going on the incredible world tour.
On July 1st 2016 logic dropped a mixtape named bobby tarantino. This was the birth of his other alter ego named bobby tarantino which is a more hype and trap version of logic. This mixatpe dropped unexpectedly and was a very nice surprise to the rattpack (the rattpack is the name for logics fan base, named after frank sinatra's rattpac). This mixtape features songs such as flexicution, super mario world, and 44 bars.
On may 5th 2017, logic released the album everybody. This album included features such as khalid, alessia cara, No I.D. etc. This album was made for helping people who suffer from depression, anxiety, etc. In this album a man named Atom is on his way home from work when he is hit by a car and dies. He wakes up in a white void, and the void was talking to him, this void was god, voiced by neil degrasse tyson. Atom learns that he has been reincarnated and that he is every single man woman or child who has ever lived. He his Jesus and all of his disciples, Hitler and the millions he killed. So everytime he did an act of harm he did it on himself, and everytime he did an act of kindness, he did it to himself. This album also connects to the end of the incredible true story, because this album and his future album ultra 85 is all one universe. Everybody debuted at number one on the US billboard top 200 and sold about 139,00 copies first week.
On march 9th 2018, logic released to sequel to bobby tarantino. This sequel was called bobby tarantino 2. This features a skit from logics favorite tv show rick and morty, talking about the difference between album logi and mixtape logic, and deciding on which one to play in their space adventure. They decide on mixtape logic and as you can guess bobby tarantino 2 begins. Logic teased this mixtape on his everybody’s world tour in the summer of 2017, where he invited me backstage and when i met him.
On september 28th 2018, my birthday, logic released his highly anticipated album titled Young Sinatra 4. This is the conclusion to the young sinatra series, and i think its a very good conclusion. He raps over classic hip hop style beats which is a crucial part of his young sinatra alter ego. This album includes a tribute to the late mac miller.
Logic has released at least one project every year for the past 10 years. He is the literal definition of a workaholic. He is currently writing his second novel, and releasing his first sometime in early 2019. He is writing his script for his movie, has 5 albums done and ready to o, with over 80+ songs done, he is constantly working on music, and is doing something for tv.
