Climate Change Around Us
Global warming affects us and influences climate change thus changing weather patterns. However many people believe this alone will not hinder our future. Global warming is the gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere by higher levels of carbon dioxide resulting in climate change. Climate change then plays a part in the distribution of weather. as regards heat, dryness, sunshine, wind, rain. Which will impact us as a whole when a natural disaster hits areas.
Global warming already has substantial and costly effects–and these consequences will only increase as the temperature of the planet continues to increase. Global warming accelerates the rate of increase in sea level and dramatically increases the risk of coastal flooding. Costly and increasing health effects Climate change has important health implications, including increased air pollution and a longer and more intense season of allergies. Heavier rainfall and flooding As temperatures rise, increased rainfall occurs leading to flooding Longer and more damaging wildfire seasons Wildfires are on the rise and the wildfire season in the Western United States is getting longer. Increases as temperatures. More frequent and intense heat waves Hot weather occurs already more often than 60 years ago. In the mid-19th century, the heat-trapping nature of carbon dioxide and other gasses was demonstrated. Their ability to influence the transfer of infrared energy through the atmosphere is the scientific basis of many NASA instruments. There is no question that greenhouse gas levels have increased. Gasses then must cause the Earth to warm in response.Humans have contributed to overpopulation, overconsumption and over pollution in our world and have no idea that they are doing so. Humans are at fault by polluting the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels. The current trend of warming is of particular importance because most of it is highly likely (more than 95 percent probability) to be the result of human activity since the mid-20th century and at an unprecedented rate over the decade. The average surface temperature of the planet has risen about 1.62 degrees Fahrenheit (0.9 degrees Celsius) since the end of the 19th century, a change largely driven by increased carbon dioxide and other human emissions into the atmosphere. The five warmest years on record since 2010. 2016 was not only the warmest year on record but eight of the twelve months of the year— from January to September, with the exception of June — were the warmest on record for the months.
Luckily there's people who are alarmed by this issue and see there needs to be changed.The IPCC was created to provide policymakers with regular scientific assessments on climate change, its implications, and future potential risks, and to propose adaptation and mitigation options. The IPCC determines the state of knowledge on climate change through its assessments. It identifies where agreement exists within the scientific community on climate change issues and where further research is necessary they then submit Evaluation reports. Evaluation reports are a key input into international climate change negotiations. The IPCC has 195 members, which was established in 1988 by the United Nations Environment Program (UN Environment) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
Global Warming is apparent in us Regionally Across the Midwest, records show that spring arrives earlier, dangerously hot weather occurs more frequently and winters become warmer and snowier. In the Northeast it is alarming that sea levels rise much more rapidly from here to the Mid – Atlantic coasts than globally, increasing the risk of destructive coastal flooding. Increasing temperatures, accelerating sea levels, and more frequent and intense heat waves are only some of the climatic effects that Southeast states can expect.
California suffers from the effects of global warming too however it is much more progressive than other regions when it comes to combat it.California has the nation's most comprehensive global warming pollution reduction program as a global leader in climate action. California Wildfires occur frequently but are started and spread by human and natural influences. With regard to the conditions in California in recent years, it is clear from several lines of evidence that California is now in a new climate in which the conditions are much hotter, leading to earlier snowpack melting and exacerbating low precipitation periods when they occur. The net effect extends the fire season and increases the potential for large, intense fires. In November, the Camp Fire in Butte County and the Woolsey Fire near Los Angeles killed at least 90 people, burned more than 250,000 acres, destroyed more than 20,000 structures and created unhealthy air conditions hundreds of miles away in communities.Nasa appeared worried about the aftermath of California fires as they would spew aerosols into the air. Aerosols are very harmful to humans as they compromise health and affect weather patterns by cooling or warming the earth, helping or preventing clouds from forming. Health Risks of Smoke inhalation. A mixture of particles and chemicals produced by incomplete burning of carbon-containing materials is the smoke released by any type of fire (forest, brush, crop, structure, tires, waste or wood burning). All smoke contains carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and soot. Smoke irritates the eyes, nose, and throat and can cause nausea in its odor. Studies have shown that some people exposed to heavy smoke have temporary lung function changes that make it harder to breathe. Recent research at the California National Primate Research Center has demonstrated the effects of persistent breathing outdoors and smoky air on primates younger than three months of age–and lasts for years. The devastating wildfires of 2018 make it even more urgent to respond to the wildfire problem in California. California Fires are both deadly and detrimental to our generation and future generations. Both these wildfire seasons affected rural and urban areas and also hit northern and southern California, increasing the interest of lawmakers beyond those from traditionally forested districts. Gavin Newsom, the Governor-elect, has already stated that wildfire planning is a priority of his administration. Wildfires will probably be a major topic of proposed legislation and executive action in the run-up to the 2019–20 session.
The Friday following Thanksgiving the Trump administration published a report outlining and warning the grave economic toll climate change is projected to hurt the nation as the concerns of coastal flooding and forest fires rise. In result, we must take action to combat climate change by doing our part. Scientists warn unless carbon emissions fall extremely in the next ten years the results of climate change will be unavoidable.We need to reduce emissions The heat-catching emissions we put into the atmosphere must be significantly reduced. Simply stop deforestation Tropical deforestation accounts for about 10% of heat-trapping emissions worldwide. Reducing tropical deforestation can reduce global warming emissions significantly and play a key role in a comprehensive long-term global warming solution. Fighting misinformation "The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make US manufacturing non-competitive."-Donald Trump. This barrage of misinformation misleads the public and confuses them especially if it is from a president. As persons, we can help reduce our personal carbon emissions. However, in order to address the threat of global warming fully, we must ask our elected leaders to act. We must also prepare for this dangerous new reality, even if we are working to reduce global warming emissions.I believe in fact it will, the nation as a whole chooses to play in a reactive tone rather than proactive when facing concerning problems globally and change is needed now.
