The industry of Toyota Company
Toyota Company belong to automotive industry. Automotive industry is an international industry that interacts with the government and economic sectors in around the world. Accordingly, many countries in the world consider automotive industry as one of the most important economic sectors in term of income. The global automotive industry has developed at more than 100 years. And its production is about 250 billion U.S dollars around the world.
Automotive industry involved a large number of companies and organizations in manufacturing, design, development, marketing and selling of motor vehicles. It is also known as automakers, the term of automotive industry was proposed by Elmer Sperry. Volkswagen Company is one of the most key players of the industry which takes Garman as it’s based. Japan has two main automobile companies which are Toyota Motor Corporation and Nissan Motor Corporation, which consider as a competitors of General Motors and Ford Motor Company which based in US, and Italian company Fiat. Currently, the fastest growing market region in automobile products is south East Asia.
The revolution of auto industry started when invention of a feasible internal combustion engine. The first internal combustion machine was recorded in 1823 by engineer Samuel Brown from London. Then, the efforts of American manufacturers is continue on the way of mass production of cars. In 1890, the automotive industry began with hundreds of manufacturers that pioneered without horse carriage. 32,028,500 automobiles in use in the world in 1929, and more than 90% of them is produced by the U.S automotive industry. After the Second World War the economy of the world become in major growth, which were the reason of auto industry growth. In 1994, U.S was the leading manufacturer of automotive industry. In the early 20th century, cars become the main customer’s element in the world. Also, the U.S has maintained its level in this industry until it become a major market of cars. But from 2006 to 2009, Japan surpassed United States in production, while china ranked first with 13.8 million units.
Global sales of passenger cars are increasing in these years. While in 2016, U.S has sold to its client about 6.9 million passenger cars. In 2017, the world’s sales are expected to reach 78.6 million vehicles.

Toyota Company
The history of Toyota started in 1933 with the company being a trademark. Toyoda Auto Loom Works devoted to the production of automobiles under the direction of the founder's son, Kiichiro Toyoda Kiichiro Toyoda got traveled to Europe and the USA in 1929 to investigate automobile production and had begun researching gasoline-powered engines in 1930. Toyoda Automatic Loom Works was encouraged to develop car production by the Japanese people government, which needed national vehicle production, due to the war with Chinese suppliers. In 1934, the department produced its first Type A Engine, that was used in the first Style A1 passenger car in-May 1935 and the G1 truck in August 1935. Development of the Model SOCIAL MEDIA PACKAGE passenger car started in 1936. Early vehicles keep a striking resemblance to the Dodge Power Truck and Chevrolet, with some parts interchanging with their American originals.
Actually, though the Toyota Group is best known today for its cars, it remains in the sheet business and still makes programmed looms, which are now computerized, and electric sewing machines that can be found, worldwide.
Ever since the founding, Toyota has wanted to contribute to a more prosperous society through the manufacture of cars, operating its business with a give attention to vehicle production and sales.
To signify its 75th wedding anniversary, the corporation has compiled seventy-five many years of Toyota. Have a look at the industry’s progress over the previous three- quarter century.
Toyota is one of the most trusted brands in Oman. Its popularity has recently been growing over time is not only due to the product's excellence but also to the 'customer firsts' in advertising after sales support pioneered by the Saud Bahwan Group.
TQM Practices in Toyota Company.
Toyota motors is the most popular company that use total quality management, and it also known as a king of TQM. According to Fortune Global 500, Toyota is the tenth most important company in the world, and it deals directly with total quality management. In 1965, Toyota has received Deming Application prize and the Japan Quality Control Award in 1970. In Toyota, total quality management depend on the “customer first” thought, which means endless development and “total participation” which means involving all the employees. Toyota start the creative idea of suggestion system in 1951, to stimulate and promote employees in making efficient input in the company’s improvement. Statistical quality control introduced by Toyota in 1949. Additionally, the organization makes great exertions to provide Community based projects and environmental initiatives. These ideas are at the gist of Toyota’s production system, and have an effects on making higher product quality and work, and organization’s parts developments, from individuals to services.
The History of TQM in Toyota
The industrial revaluation is considered as a turning-point in the manufacturing industry with the introduction of assembly-lines and mass production. It was marked as a period of innovation and Japan desired to compete – so it “put the call out for inventors”. Another turning-point was in the Second World War. Producing weapon, especially in the United State, optimization of manufacturing machinery, merchandise and statistical techniques were required to keep path of production. Although the United State participated in the development of quality control methods, two groups of people were overlooked, whom are industrial engineers and statisticians who wanted to implement new techniques, the reason is that, the quality was related to greater efforts and restrictive regulations.
Japan invited Statisticians and Quality Managers such as Edward Deming and Malcolm Badridge because they were in need of total quality rebuilding for their economy. The first company that apply quality control is Toyota in 1940 and 1950. Toyota’s production system is the current method of Toyota, and it also known as lean production, owes itself to the work of Edward Deming and is now a reference point for Quality Management all over the world. Additionally, the main principles for example, Customer First and Kaizen. 8 Steps Practical Problem, solving method, PDSA, A3 Reporting and 5s are an examples of the management tools that Toyota boasts.
Based on Kaizen continuous improvement the company has set up the Toyota way in 2001. It militate to avoid waste and overproduction, in addition, any employee can recommend a change where they see fit by making a bureaucratic system. There is high value on human involvement. It also includes, continuous encouragement for further innovation, consensus and ideas for improvement. Toyota focusing not only on short-term improvement, but also the long-term. “Customer First” and “Respect of people” are the two major pillars of Toyota way.
Today total quality management is widely adopted in dynamic business environment, but Toyota car Company has its own version of quality management called the Toyota production system or TPS. Just in time production is belong to TPS, which means averting the surplus of inventories and manufacturing products in required amount. Just in time helps Toyota company to increase its capital, for example the right quantities of cars must reach in the main assembly line which will be reached by sub assembly. The effects of this is that, eliminate the need for inventories thus removing the requirement of warehouses and storage facilities. Thus the inventory cost will be significantly decreased, giving the company a higher capital.
Conclusion
To conclude, Automotive industry is the industry of Toyota Company, which is consider as one of the most important sector in term of income. Automotive industry involved many companies and organization in design, manufacturing, development, marketing etc. The basic automotive in Japan are Toyota Motor Corporation and Nissan Motor Corporation. The invention of a feasible internal combustion is the bingeing of the auto industry’s revolution. Toyota Company is consider as an important automotive manufacturer, which is located in Japan. Total quality management is used by Toyota Company. Toyota is well known in the use of TQM worldwide. It implements TQM in all of its works. TQM in Toyota depends on two concepts which are, Customer first and total production, and that is mean continues development with participating all the employees. TQM affects the work of Toyota Company, which helps them in making high product quality. Toyota’s economy was in need for total quality rebuilding and that is pushed them to invite Edward Deming and Malcolm Badridge. Toyota used several tools to apply total quality management such as, 8 Steps Practical Problem, solving method, PDSA, A3 Reporting. Positive results is shown because of the efforts which has been implemented in TQM. We as a students, we advise Toyota to, improved their processes and they have to prevent defection. As will as they must help all teams which are working with them to take better decisions. And the most important task that Toyota should dose is to make the customer be satisfy, so that they can be the most profitable car manufacturer in around the world now. Toyota have to keep improving the quality of their products and services. This also would generate a systematic and manage working environment to create a preferable working environment and ensure smooth operations.
