Under numerous considerations, Pharmacy is a dynamic and equally interesting field. While it is changing on a daily basis, the field is exhilarating in many ways. However, one particular aspect of the field that is ideally intriguing is the number of endless opportunities that are at one's disposal upon pursuit of a career in Pharmacy. With a versatile degree such as a Bachelor is Pharmacy, the prospects that the future holds for one are more or less exciting. While the field is currently thriving, a choice to dive into the medical field under the wing of Pharmacy is often influenced by a number of life aspects and personal motivations.

Our parents often influence our lives in many ways. At times, the influence comes from the direct action of them making choices for us, standing as our role models or silently as the beacons with which we want to measure our success with. There are a lot of things I admire about my parents. One of the most important of these is their ability to often remind us, their children, that we have the capacity to become whatever we chose to; and that they would stand by us in our choices (Provided, of course, they were deemed as legal and okay). With this motivation, I have gradually developed a liking for the field of Pharmacy and Pharmaceuticals. This is an inclination that has been shaped by a number of experiences and life moments.

The desire and personal interest to pursue a career in the field of Pharmacy is placed in my overall yearning to improve the human experience with life health-wise. To be able to accomplish this, many a philosophers I have read propose that the pursuit of the relevant knowledge is the right step towards one's success.  Further, the prospects of working in pharmaceuticals has always thrilled me; and this is again due to a number of factors and events in my life that have shaped my understanding and preference for the field.

In the path towards the development of interest in the field of Pharmacy and pharmaceuticals, the concern and empathy for the suffering of others played the largest role towards this inclination. As an integral part of my character and personality, I have the liking and affinity to help those around me and to look out for their well-being. This side of me was further accentuated and strengthened by my two-year period working at a Pharmaceutical shop; where I would handle a number of services. While at this service, I learnt of the value of Pharmacy to societies and inherently decided to pursue the field when offered the chance. Prior to this experience, I had been to other pharmacies as a patient, and the care and attention that I was offered ideally prompted me to want to deliver the same to others around me who would be in need of it.

In the two years of higher education that I have been through, I have been able to learn more about life aspects and the associated challenges. In the pre-pharmacy courses, I have been able to gather about aspects of life and the health process in different perspectives. This further solidified my overall intent to study pharmacy. While the primary motive is to earn the skills and expertise to be able to practice in the field of Pharmacy, there is also a secondary motive to pursue a career that promises some form of financial independence and stability.

I often consider myself as a curious being, and the study of the human anatomy and biochemistry promises to keep this side of my intellectual persona occupied potentially for life. The field of Pharmacy is expansive and continues to grow on a daily basis. With this, I am motivated by the prospect of completing undergraduate studies upon which I might embark on further studies to contribute to the field of pharmacy and perhaps earn a doctorate one day. There is a lot to learn and study in the field of Pharmacy.

As my interest in the field of Pharmacy grew, I began to read articles and medical journals including "The Pharmaceutical Journal". Essentially, this allowed me to follow the happenings in the field while at the same time gaining insight about new discoveries that were positioned to improve human life. In one particular instant that further boldened my resolve to join the field of Pharmacy; I read of a drug trial for Parkinson's disease that involved 42 randomly selected volunteers. While the results were not as successful, the article predisposed me to the difficulties encountered in the development of treatments to various medical conditions and diseases. This renewed my zeal to get involved and contribute towards the improvement of human health and overall life experience on earth.

Overly, my experience working with first aid teams in my high school as well s with the St. John's Ambulance has essentially helped me to build my skills in the provision of care in emergency and diseased situations. Participation with the group required one to take first aid courses; which I must add that went a long way into shaping my overall inclination towards helping those in need. In the service with St. Johns Ambulance, such important aspects of the medical field such as team work and assessment of existing situations were experienced firsthand.

Another experience that shaped my desire to pursue Pharmacy as a life career is the volunteering sessions at the homes for the elderly and the for young people with disabilities. This essentially allowed me to learn how to interact with people from different backgrounds. Further, the inspiration drawn from such an encounter is to essentially appreciate what one has in life. The fulfilment that comes with helping others is a treat and a pleasure that also drives me to strive to succeed in a field of Pharmacy. By helping out those who are disabled and the elderly, one is able to relate with their needs and all the care that they can receive.

With these life experiences, my personality and world view has been shaped in a number of ways. Currently I like to think of myself as an independent and ideally focused individual that is passionate and driven to learn new things. I am an advocate for creative thinking and essentially love solving problems and perform best in highly demanding situations. Given an opportunity to pursue Pharmacy, I am certain that I would achieve most of my life goals. Pharmacy as a career is highly rewarding on many scopes of life. This ranges from the academic, the emotional and the scholarly aspect of the field. Offered the chance, I am certain I would live up to the expectations.
