ABSTRACT
Purpose of making
The main purpose of this product is it will show weather updates, calendar, to-do tasks and help in easing off daily chores. The project has been considered keeping in mind the fast-paced Millennials who wants things to be done on the go. The product based on embedded system will be able to connect many electrical appliances.
INTRODUCTION
AIM:
Our aim is to change the way we look at the mirror and use it. We believe that by adding various features to a mirror and connecting it to other smart appliances/devices – we can take home automation to its next level. Our goal is to make a smart mirror that facilitates multitasking, simplifies daily chores and turn it into an interactive and user friendly personal assistant.

Engineering is the application of science to solve a problem, whereas Design is the creative expression of knowledge…
Each word is important. A design cannot just be a thought; it must be expressed in some material form (sketch, article, music, text etc.). To be 'design' or a 'design' the expression must be creative. For example it cannot just be somebody musing over says whether the sky is blue or gray. If the creative expression is one of 'emotion' then we can say it is 'art'. If it is an expression of knowledge then it is 'design'. Most creative expressions are a combination of both 'art' and 'design'. A sculptor will use his knowledge of clay and casting to 'design' his sculpture so that his or she intended emotion can be conveyed to the viewer as 'art'. Similarly, a manufactured article (a product) will be mainly a manifestation of knowledge (design) but still with an emotional input to the form, appearance, packaging and marketing (art).
The subject of 'Engineering' can be divided into two activities of analysis and synthesis. Analysis (& research) is really Science or the study of materials, actions, life etc. to better understand our world. We can call it 'Engineering Science' if the study focuses on materials, processes and material actions. However, when we start taking this knowledge and applying it to improve the quality of life we are synthesizing knowledge. We are now being creative with our knowledge. This is DESIGN and is FUNDAMENTAL to ENGINEERING.

Mirror is the first thing we see in morning. The smart mirror updates you about your day and weather. And it connects you to other smart appliances while doing your daily chores or getting ready.

In absence of internet connectivity or electricity, we are devoid of its smart functionalities.

Description:
The hardware in the above image is what will fit behind the actual two-way glass. Currently the hardware is capable of taking input from user to switch-on and switch-off the in-built LED and it senses humidity & temperature.
For energy management, LED switch-on and LED switch-off events are scheduled. It automatically switches on at 7:00 p.m. and switches off at 6:00 a.m.

For convenience purpose the event has been scheduled for the whole month. It can be set according to user needs and changed depending on weather.
