Dear professor Maria,
Subject: – Impact of Robots on Productivity and Employment.
Last time as I submitted to you my proposal I want to come up with my final report concerning Impact of Robots on Productivity and Employment for this subject. Also I want to give thanks to the library of Centennial College which supplied me with all necessary materials and resources regarding to this topic.
In this report I would like to give information related to this topic and clearly explain every aspect. Nowadays Automation and Robotics is taking wide place not only in industry but also in education, science, and even in social aspects. In this report I wold be able to show Automation and Robotics affects employment market and on productivity of facilities.
Also I will supply with some graphical information related to productivity and employment so you would be able to see how they are attached to each other.
Please feel free to mail me by email dkhamit@my.centennialcollege.ca if u want to ask any question or you need any additional information regarding this topic.
Sincerely,
Dinmukhamed Khamit

Abstract
Robotics and Automation significantly developed in the past 40 years. It is exceedingly useful in any measure as engineering sciences, high-tech industries, education, car industry and many places. Robots are not as human, they never ask for salary or break, they don’t need any food or rest, because they are just machines with no soul. That’s why automations are taking away jobs and many people becoming jobless. But they are also creating many new jobs as maintaining that same automation systems, building them. Automation still cannot operate fully autonomously. I will research pros and cons of robotics and automation and the way it affects job market. Also I will make arrangements about advantages and disadvantages of machines.

Introduction
Problems:-
Nowadays robots are taking wide popularity in big companies as Toyota. Because they don’t have any feelings, never get tired, don’t need any sleep. They are programmable so they can do any task. There are industrial robots which are like human hand that also have 5 to 7 axis of freedom so they can do whatever human hand can do. They can do risky tasks without any fear. All you need is to properly program it. Because they are so useful companies are replacing human forces with robots so many people are losing their jobs. That’s why unemployment rate is rapidly increasing. Are they that productive?
Background:-
Robot is a machine which can be programmed by a computer. The idea of automatizing is originally has been found in mythologies of many cultures around the world, in China, Ancient Greece and etc. The word “robot” comes from Czech language which is “robota” which means “dependant labor”.
Industrial robots are tremendously helpful in production, there are lots of variations as welding robots, painting, palletizing. Actually all of those jobs can be done by universal robots which anyone with enough knowledge in robotic sciences can program as needed. They also can be controllable or automatically. Automatically robots are fast, accurate and precise. But this progress can lead to disaster for human as labour market would be filled with automation and people would start losing their jobs.
Purpose:-
This report has been done in purpose of researching about effects of automation on employment and productivity. This report will include advantages and disadvantages and possible solutions for problems.
Impact on Productivity:-
Robots are machines which use electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic forces. But for all of them substantially they need lots of amount of electrical power. In recent years efficiency of robots increased by 40%. Small robots like ABB IRM 1400 are consuming approximately 500 watts of energy per hour. That’s an equivalent of 5 standard 100 watt glowing bulbs which people were using not long ago.
All researches of efficiency and productivity which has been done by researchers has made robots really popular for big industries. They do job really quick and can do it non-stop before it needs some maintenance.
Robots have been used mainly on automotive industry on conveyers when they first became practical in use. These automation type designed to work non-stop without any break. It is really common that some manufacturers run their robots 24 hours a day. They stop only when they are broken and need some parts to be replaced or consumables to be filled. The main advantage of the robots is that they give constant output.
The main reason why manufacturers have started integrating industrial robots are that they give constant results. It is really increasing productivity because manufacturers can always predict the result. This fact increases productivity of everyone in the facility. One of the main areas where robots are widely using is painting. Since they never get tired their frequency, speed never decreases. If we compare to the most skilled human painter, machine can overcome him in many aspects. And the most important part for productivity is the amount of energy and paint consumable used for painting that robot spends. Every new cycle of painting robot uses almost 100% same amount of consumables which it was using in previous cycle. Therefore it is more accurate and easier to predict how much consumable paint one cycle requires. So it is also efficient for company because they save money.
