Governments Abortion Assistance
In todays the world the government seems to be assisting in everything with little to no consideration. Then they go around complaining about how much debt the United States ends up in. The problem is this government funding towards the needy must be cut down more than it already has. Some welfare and food stamp receptions are in a very bad way and need the assistants just to survive. But the institutions that the government have created that are involved with preventable crises should be taken care of. One institution that is a prime example in this argument is the Planned Parenthood institution that we have created over the years of teens expecting or avoiding a pregnancy. Planned Parenthood is something that has been using government's money for over 100 years now and every cent of that money that isn't paid back by we the people, adds up which eventually contributes to the debt of our country.
Though the positive side of the argument is something everyone must always take into perspective when looking at a crisis like this one. Looking at the less fortunate some health care assistance will always be necessary when it comes to the poor. There are a lot of people in the world today that just don't have the money. Along with those people come the people that have deadly illnesses and certain health issues preventing them from being able to have a baby who will ever grow up to be a fully healthy human. These type of people come to the clinic a lot. As a matter of fact 20% of people that enter the clinic are there due to these type of birth defects according to research data. Illnesses like this give some legit reasoning of why these clinics need to stay running when it comes to the health care aspects.
There is also a convenience factor that comes into play when talking about the advantages of these clinics being around. Some days at the Planned Parenthood facilities you don't even need an appointment you can just drop in and if you qualify you may receive free services well you are there. Yes, even if you are planning on receiving an abortion at an early stage of your pregnancy you can get a free abortion. The convenience of the abortion offered has even increased inside of the state financed clinics. They now offer a pill that will give you an abortion within 48 hours as long as you are not any longer than 3 months into your pregnancy. It doesn't get any easier than that, especially if you are getting this with no money being taken out of your pocket. Not only are the procedures that they will do for you after you are pregnant free but so are the things that offer you to prevent ever getting pregnant in the first place. They offer free birth control and even free condoms to the guys just by walking into the front door of these facilities. Where is all of this money coming from that they have at the clinics you ask? It's coming from your pocket.
Confidentiality is easy for the teens who attend these clinics which is a positive in the mind of a young and confused teenager. Planned Parenthood promises to keep everything a secret even from the parents of the underage teen. They won't send any mail or bills or make any phone calls to the teen if not asked for in order to keep all visits a confidential secret. Let's face it, teens don't want kids but are we really telling them it's not okay to practice unsafe sex or are we just saying don't worry about it because we have an easy free solution anyways.
Planned Parenthood needs to be using there government funds for better use. They need to eliminate their big slogan for abortion and morning after pills and start focusing on the prevention. Prevention is key in teens and if it is preached across America it can become the statement piece of Planned Parenthood. We can slowly start to filter out the programs involving the aftermath and make sure to promise hundreds of thousands of kids that when it comes to pregnancy, mistakes only happen if protection was in the picture. If free services are going to be offered they should be offered for good reasoning.
But once again the key word is free, sure it is free to the 15 year old patient but to our government and all you tax payers across the United States this is most certainly not the case. Planned Parenthood's net revenue increased 5% to total $1.21 billion by June 30th 2013 and the new report of 2014 is showing about 45% of that revenue ($540.6 million) was provided by tax payers. Those are some insane numbers to look at and think about when it comes to the substantial debt our country is currently in. Huge amounts of money by the millions and billions are lost due to these type of health fund facilities each and every year. But the worst part about the whole thing is that all of this money is going to a preventable cause. The cause of this government loss is because of teens not being safe and not being well educated. Just the little things can prevent big problems for these teens. The better help of parental guidance and the knowledge of the teens knowing what is safe and unsafe surely could help prevent the reason for 85% of the visits to the clinic, which is pregnancy scares.
Are we telling the kids it's okay to do these things because we have a quick and easy fix or are we telling them don't do it, it is unhealthy, and you are ruining your life. The government continues to pour more and more money into these health care clinics for teens and doesn't even begin to realize the message we send out to the teens about unsafe sex and how it seems okay. Sure the clinic provides certain prevention tools such as different forms of birth control, the pill, the BC shot injection, and condoms. But once again all of these services are free and are usually given to a patient after the pregnant teen couple has already gone through with an abortion.
As of June 2014, the United States was $17,687,136,723,410.59 in debt with an average of $153,671.57 of federal taxes being collected per household. That is over 7 trillion dollars of debt across the US. But the question is, if there is a way we can help make even just the smallest dent in that number with these health clinics how can we do that? When it comes down to it the Planned Parenthood Facility has been around for over a century so our government will never completely eliminate it. But because of its reputation the Planned Parenthood facility also has a loud voice. A voice that is heard more often to teens then sometimes their own parents. This voice needs to be turned towards a better direction. Instead of offering so many solutions for the teens who have already made mistakes, why not offer more assistance for those who don't want to make a mistake. If you asked 100 teens at the age of 15 if they wanted to get pregnant, over 90 of those teens would answer with no. So why sit here and enforce how we have solutions for when you make that big mistake, when at the end of the day we are the ones who have that same voice to preach proactivity.
People would fund Planned Parenthood if they knew it was a company funding children to practice safe sex and avoid teen pregnancy across the United States. The problem is this company is sending out the wrong message to our teens and they need to learn the right one. Instead of these teens thinking Planned Parenthood is a live safer, we need them to be thinking Planned Parenthood will prevent you from needing to be saved. Planned Parenthood can do this by using there government funds for better use.
