Gulliver’s Travels

The story of Gulliver’s Travels is a tale of a man that travels the world through the ocean

and he has taken the  role of a captain aboard his own ship and has his own crew that he takes

on many different adventures. He has to deal with sickness pirates and other various creatures

that try and board his ship or take his crew members In the process. Gulliver himself is told to

be a very believable story teller and in his tales of sailing the seas he tends to get ahead of

himself at times and this causes some of his work to be not as satisfactory as some others.

Something to note is that he was not just a captain of a ship he was once a surgeon at one

point and was able to be quite useful in dire times and still is able to. The story continues when

Gulliver is going to travel once again, however he is postponed due to multiple of his crew

members were very ill due to various sickness’s that had been developed during the very

dangerous journeys or sailing.

Gulliver finds himself in a position on one of his journeys to a former land where he is

encountered by two different types of animals. On one side he there are a group of vegan

animals that are against eating meat and do not believe in eating mean and are somewhat

civilized as far as animals go. However there are a complete opposite breed of different animals

that have adapted to eating only meat and are in turn bloodthirsty animals. Gulliver is forced to

draw his sword after being attacked and gets into many altercations. They are referred to as

the “the fall of man” and the other vegan eaters are referring to as being much more intellectual

in a comedy sense. Originally Gulliver is treated like an animal in the presence of the few peo

ple that he interacts with when he first arrives on the island. However upon further develop

ment he is shown to the council and is able to become somewhat of a higher power on the is

land because he is ‘funny’ and has been entertaining the people of that land since he arrived.

Something that Gulliver realizes very quickly is the very obvious lack of morales that the

people living on the island posses, he is more or less disgusted by their behavior and despises

the fact that they have absolutely no politics or code of judgment when it comes to right or

wrong. After all of this Gulliver is later transported into the sea and washes up on a different

island due to a bird carrying him towards this completely random location. This new island is

known in the story as Balnibarbi in this island the ideals and morals are very different from the

last few islands, this time Gulliver is confronted with “genius” people that are doing and making

things that are almost unimaginable to be normal there are a lot of people that are constantly

hard at work making new things for their village.

The difference between the different places

that Gulliver travels to is the difference in the nature of people is civilized and uncivilized people

the different ways of life are what is determined when you compare and contrast different

places it shows what kind of people you can meet when you travel to many different places.

Gulliver travels to a total of four different lands and ends up learning tons of different ways of

life as we saw in the story of the uncivilized way of farmers and no politics, without proper or

der in the world their is a very weird way of how people live Gulliver shows this in his tale of

how the men and women were very ‘shameless’ and lacked morale.  But when it comes to the

other places that Gulliver traveled to he visits a place where people are so advanced that it

doesn’t quite make sense as to what or how anything in that area was constructed. The reason

why Gulliver was so distraught over the fact that they were such bi polar opposites is because

it did not make sense as to why such similar places could have such different ways of life.

Gulliver’s life revolves around different stories from past experiences that he was apart

of the very many experiences that were encountered during the four different journeys that he

encountered. The original role of the journey was for Gulliver to make a name in his work as

being a crewman and sailing abroad. He encountered many different pirates that tried to seize

his ship during his four different journeys. The difference on people that were compared to Gul

liver were very drastic and had a big impact on the results of his story because he was unable

to be a free spirit because of him getting captured and forced to do things against his will when

he is taken away and forced to do something because he is considered a foreign person to

their land. Not to mention the fact that he is also a surgeon that can help those people if it was

necessary to the overall mission of him being there.

So in turn Gulliver and his travels were divided into four parts that proceeded to be

divided into him visiting various different lands/ villages Gulliver is of course a well

known surgeon and was deployed to discover and even he himself wanted to discover

things thanks to his newfound knowledge on these random islands that he would even

tually venture to when the time came. It is important to note that the original story and

the movie varieties of the original story was made different in stories mainly because

Gulliver did not travel to four different places In the movie (mainly to compress the

overall story) the real difference was when Gulliver arrived on the island in the film he

was a ‘giant’ when compared to the various tiny men on this island.

As well as even though Gulliver was taken as a prisoner in the book and forced

to be humorous and entertain he is instead treated as that of an outcast until others in

the village show that he is not bad however this takes quite a considerable amount of

time considering gaining trust from someone isn’t very easy. Gulliver was more or less a

random traveler that happened to stumble onto various different places that allowed

him to not only learn new things but also he gained the trust of these new people. Wich

proved to be beneficial towards his travels considering his goal was to more or less

create stories and the entire book is about his travels and different encounters with pi

rates and various other villains during his journey.

Gulliver was a traveler that tried to discover the difference between various people

in different places around the world, as a traveler that was more or less his job and is

why he was able to do the things he did because while he did not see everyone eye to

eye he seemed to take everything with a grain of salt and did not try to displease, during

His travels as a surgeon this led to him eventually getting held hostage and meeting

people that he did not like however he was still able to proceed with his story and made

a name for himself in his book as a man of many tales. This is the story and tales of

Gulliver and his travels.
