As individuals, we grow up constantly surrounded by various groups of people, as a result it is fairly rare to find a person without experience with a variety of organizations. The organizations can include schools, clubs, teams, charities, as well as government bureaucracies and business organizations. As individuals come into contact with organizations, they come into contact with dress norms, stories told by members, organization’s formal rules and procedures, informal codes of behavior, rituals, tasks, jargon, inside jokes, and so on. These various elements are some of the manifestations of organizational culture. When members of these organizations interpret the meanings of these manifestations, their perceptions, memories, beliefs, experiences, and values will vary, so interpretations will differ. The patterns or repetition of these interpretations, and the ways they are enacted, constitute culture.
