The political system of Ghana has presidential representative democratic republic style and it invokes the constitution yet another constitution was developed in view of the United States model which was endorsed by national referendum in was held in Ghana on April 28th 1992. The past Ghanaian constitutional referendum of 1960 and 1964 were invalid and the one of 1992 was sustained. The constitution of Ghana's political system shows Ghana to be united as one single power and that power is within the Ghanaian people. The Executives who are a small group of the Council of state that reports back to the president and vice-president. Becoming an executive member of council it must be decided by election or being appointed. A vast majority of Cabinet Members must be appointed by the Parliament. The Legislative has 230 members and a Speaker on its branch. The Judicial systems of the Ghanaian government have the authority to overrule any action requested by any citizen of Ghana. In the Ghanaian political system two main political parties dominate. The New Patriotic Party and National Democratic Congress form the main brunches of the government.

John Dramani Mahama who is looked upon as a great role model to many Ghanaians was born in Damongo in the Northern Region of Ghana on 29 November 1958. John Dramani Mahama is the 4th President of the Republic of Ghana, and a former Vice President during 2009 until 2012.John Dramani Mahama was elected into office on December 07, 2012. This is his first term as President from January 7th 2013 until January 6th 2017 even though he had served the remaining five months of the late President John Atta Mills term who died in office due to suffering from throat cancer. The Ghanaian Constitution of 1992 states that, "Whenever the President dies, resigns or is removed from office, the Vice-President shall assume office as President for the remainder of their term of office of the President with effect from the date of the death, resignation or removal of the President'. President Mahama then took over Head of State, Head of Government and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Ghana. The current Vice-President of the Republic of Ghana is Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur. Together the President and his Vice -President have a mission is to help maintain the economy as a strong for its countries development. Furthermore they are working for way for Ghanaians to ensure stability and development.
Military:
Ghana's military force was founded in 1957 and was run by Major General Stephen Otu which is now lead by Supreme Commander Chief John Dramani Mahama who is also the President of the Republic of Ghana. Ghana's military force consists of teens and middle aged adults aged from 16 to 30 years old. Other countries who support and supply Ghana's military are Iran, Russia, Korea, and China. The Ghana armed forces are viewed as one of the best equipped and most Highly trained military in Africa. The Ghana Armed forces has set up schools for military education and training across the country where young cadets are being bred to soldiers. The school used for training cadets are called Ghana Military Academy, National Cadet Corps, and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center. The Ghananian law prevents citizens and foreigners from wearing military related clothing or colours that similarly represents the military uniform. Civilians who are seen wearing such clothing that resemble the military are given fines and/or short prison terms. Another thing that involves the Ghana Armed Forces which is prohibited is taking photos of the military while they are on duty.

Ghana and Canada's relationship first started in 1906 when Canadian missionaries from Quebec went over to Ghana and set up a church in Ghana's most northern region of Navrongo. A group representing Canada in Ghana was then established in 1957 called the High Commission of Canada in Accra. Now Canadian exports to Ghana include cereals, vehicles and vehicle parts, machinery and textiles. While Ghana's top exports to Canada include cocoa, wood, rubber, and vegetables. Trade between Ghana and Canada increased in approximately 220% from the year 2000 to 2010. In 2012 Canada exported goods worth $236.6 million to Ghana while Ghana exported a total of $20.3 million. By 2014 Ghana was Canada's 4th largest export market in Africa. In 2014 Canada's exports to Ghana was totalled at more than $157.3 million. Due to this good relationship between both countries Canada has put Ghana as one of their 5 priority countries in Africa.
