Most researchers need guide material to write a good dissertation proposal. There is a defined Research Proposal Format that you should follow when writing your research papers.
Biology is a very wide subject so you should decide first whether you want to write Botany or Zoology. These two categories are still very large for your paper. You need to select one particular aspect from either category as dissertation writing requires good academic writing.
Your research project should have the following sections:
Cover Page:
It creates an impressive impression so you cannot afford to commit any mistake here. The format of the project may vary depending on the style required by your Instructor.
The cover page must contain:
- The name of the student or if it is team work then the names of the team members, the name of your instructor, your affiliated university, the date of submission, title of your research.
- Make sure all names are spelled correctly as any mistake will create a negative impression.
Acknowledgement
This is the page after the cover page. Here you express your gratitude and thank all the people who have supported you while writing the research paper. Be precise and express your gratitude in a conventional tone.
Abstract
This is a short synopsis of your project. A research paper abstract is normally around 120-150 words summary of the complete written paper. The abstract must be short and complete.
The abstract for a Biology Research paper must contain in brief the following points:
- Background
- Aim of the Study
- Methods used to carry out the research question.
- Results of the Study.
- Conclusion of the experiments or processes.
Table of Contents
This will guide your readers where to find the specific pages of your writings and diagrams. Number the pages of your research papers and make sure to number all diagrams accurately.
The table of contents can be divided under the following sections:
- Acknowledgement
- Abstract
- Introduction
- Country Report
- Aim
- Methodology
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- Recommendations
- References
- Appendix
Introduction
This is the beginning of your project which will capture the attention of your readers.
You need to establish all the principal concerns of the research project here. In a Biology topic you would need to write about the prevalence of the research topic depending whether the subject relates to Botany or Zoology. A Zoology topic would include Epidemiology.
Body
The body of your research paper should include all the matters of concern mentioned in the introduction. Each concern must be discussed and written about. Give complete explanation with references wherever necessary. For both Botany and Zoology projects you must give its country report which includes a few sections such as
- Geography
- Population
- Health Hazards/Benefits
- Economy
Literature Review/Discussion
The research topic is reviewed with a summary of another referenced work for increased emphasis and topic significance.
Aim
It defines the purpose of your research question you chose for the dissertation or thesis.
Methodology
All the data obtained is presented. Graphs and tables are used to project the results.
Results
The experiments or dissection carried out for the research project or data gathered are analysed.
Conclusion
It is the summary of the whole research results where the answer is provided to the research question/problem.
Citation
To achieve higher credibility values, the research proposal format is also important to have a citation which act as reference patterns for writing. These need the authors name, date of publication title. APA is usually used for science topics.
References
This is an important aspect of a research project. All the references used must be accurately cited.
Any high school or college research project is possible when you have these guide material and outlines provided.
Conclusion
All the important arguments are brought together and stress is given to the most important concern. The conclusion should be impressive.
Recommendations
Give attention to any improvement required. You could cite some proposals which you believe may be useful.
