What would happen if we stopped marketing to children? how would our world be affected? And how would we have to adapt? What if you woke up in a world where advertising to children is illegal. You might get a call from your boss that you were fired from your job because of business expenses. Also, most of the economy would drop and it could even cause the second great depression. All big fast food brands would go bankrupt and find new ways to get their brands out. These are some of the consequences that the world would have to face if marketing to children was illegal.
how will you personally be affected if advertising to children was banned? You would be affected in a couple of ways. One way is that there would be ads that would be more serious and less colorful you could say. This would be because not all ads would be banned. you could see a Mcdonald’s ad yet but it would look like an insurance ad dull and straight to the point. Another way is that you could be fired because of business expenses. It would not just be you, it could be thousands of people. This is how you would be affected if advertising to children was banned.

Finally, how would the US economy be affected? To know this we need some information about the advertising economy. The advertising economy in the US in 2021 is worth around 15-17 billion dollars. In 2022 the USA’s net worth is 141.7 trillion which does not seem that 17 billion dollars is as much in comparison but would still make an impact. Mcdonald’s net worth is around 19.2 billion US and the amount of advertising that Mcdonalds spent is around 1.6 billion which is around 8.3333%. That would be detrimental to McDonald’s and would make them have to reroute their marketing plan which could make the company fall apart. This could happen to any other company as well. This would most likely cause a domino effect and most of the economy would drop.
In conclusion the information supports the claim that banning advertising to children would have a good impact on the youth which is supported by the second paragraph, A median impact to you personally supported by the first paragraph, and a horrible impact on the economy which is supported by the third. This evidence and information is why we should not ban marketing to children because an economic downfall would be more detrimental than higher obesity rates in children.
