One of the great works of Solano and Getino undoubtedly is the film ‘ La Hora de los Hornos, (The Hour of the Furnaces) ‘, one of the interesting thing is the name of the film, because this words have the roots back on the time when the Europeans colonized the south America especially when they reached the coast, they saw fires all around, where indigenous people living there and they were cocking, throughout the years this expression has been used among poets and historians in Latin America until become an anti-imperialist expression used by Che-Guevara.this film was made in order to call the people of Argentina for social revolution, knowing that Latin American countries for decade has been under Spanish and Portuguese colonialism and especially after declaring independence from these countries they still had some struggle to find the right place in the world because after that came to power a new phenomenon called neo-colonialism where on the center of this neo-colonial power stands United states of America.in this film we can see that there are so many groups from the left side and right side that even they didn’t known each other that existed, but Solano and Getino they as Peronist in this case they have tried to give space to everyone to express himself in this film. Despite the fact that in this film they are trying to show the way to revolution against neocolonialist powers, neocolonialism different from colonialism which is controlled by one direct hand in this case Spain, in neocolonialism the real enemy in fact it’s not the foreign aggressor but Argentinian brogues ruling class and capitalist system which is established in the way that to exploit and repress the labor class of Argentina. The call for liberation is everywhere in the film but the issue is that even the method used against the imperial powers is the way that was developed in colonialist countries, hippy style rock music even the words are they use are English.

Solano and Getino together they created the group called Cine-Liberacio, a film movement calling for liberation and revolution from all sorts of imperial and colonial powers, in order to adopt a new way of film making. They have tried to be distinguished from first and second world cinema so they came up with the notion third cinema. For them third cinema was the ugly cinema, what previously first and second cinema has depicted as beauty for the third cinema was ugly or anti-aesthetic. Solano and Getino they have tried to create the national cinema of Argentina but the problem in this was that, in the colonized courtiers a strong national culture doesn’t exist, not only that even bourgeoisie class is not national and been brought by colonialist powers but even the cinema, so in this case the only way was to leave everything what was colonial behind and start to form a new way of expression like in Argentina where they created the cinema of poetry and polemical essay, in this case it’s not the time to create the perfect work of art but unfinished work that needs to be done more.
