The rate of abortions in the United States is too high. In order to bring numbers down, standards need to be set in place. Incorporating a set of standard laws that detail when an abortion is, and is not, appropriate, need to be the first step for a livelier America. Every year thousands of women all over the US have abortions some have better reasons than others. What if we changed our system around abortions and only allowed abortions for bad situations? Would having a set of established laws help the abortion numbers in the US?

The rate of abortions in the US is just too high, in order to bring those number downs we need to have standards about abortions. We need to incorporate a set of standards that detail when an abortion is appropriate and when it is not. Every year thousands of women all over the US have abortions some have better reasons than others.  Therefore, we should set a law about when an abortion is appropriate. Another example is, there are two ways of ending a pregnancy: in-clinic abortion and the abortion pill.  One way we could take down the annual abortion rate is by having a set of standards or laws stating when an abortion is appropriate. “Abortion may be sinful or immoral, but it is not the function of the law to enforce the whole of morality. It is difficult to understand what religious or moral principle, what divine or human purpose, is served by compelling underprivileged women to undergo pregnancy for the full term and to bear unsought and frequently unwanted children or to risk sickness or death at the hands of incompetent and frequently lecherous and importunate abortionists.” (Morris)This quote can go along with either side of the argument about abortions. Therefore, According to Christians, all aborted babies go to Heaven. However, only about ten percent of human adults enter Heaven. Therefore it cannot be wrong to abort fetuses if the parents are completely unable to look after the child(Morris). This is important because it explains abortions from different religious points of view and tells how they deal with abortions.

An induced abortion is more commonly just referred to as a clinical abortion. Its when you go to a doctor to stop and or terminate your pregnancy. There are many different types of procedures done (suction aspiration, dilation and curettage) these can be classified as surgical abortions because they involve having  an actual surgery get done on you as opposed to other procedures that are done with some kind of medication or contraceptive. It's not technically a baby yet. Especially if it's a first-trimester abortion. In that case, it's still just a group of cells. Women get abortions for many different reasons such as unwanted (teen) pregnancy, they can't afford another child, illness, the risk of the mother's health/life, or simply a rape victim.

Abortions should be legal in all states, because what if someone has baby and they just do not want it or have time for it. For example, if someone decides to go out and mess around, then ends up pregnant why shouldn’t they be allowed to go have an abortion? In addition to, What if a teenager goes to a party, messes around, and ends up pregnant at the age of 15. Abortions should be legal in every state,no matter the reason. Finally, if more people got abortions there would not be so many orphans or homeless people in today’s society. Abortions should be legal to prevent people from messing up their whole life, because if they have a kid it will be hard to go to school and work.

The statements of the other side’s argument is that a woman should have the right to choose what to do with her body, but in reality the choice is actually all about the babies body, not just the new mom to be in this situation, and the babies life usually lands over the moms life in the birthing process rather than the moms every time. What if a mom had said something along the lines of “well I mean if it is going to hurt me or I am not going to want to deal with it, then can I just abort it? Now in what world is this even humane or legal, because it was her body and that meaning her choice she didn’t want to “deal with a baby or get hurt’ she gets to kill the innocent child. The media is always putting stuff out about these terrible abortions against moms who kill their kids, but as a society and a nation we the US citizens have legalized that killing our babies was the best route to go if someone made a dumb decision, screwed around, and got pregnant. It really is no wonder there are so many more abortions in the US then other countries. Today’s society has it etched in our  brains to not even think twice about getting an abortion it is so freely out there anyone could walk into a clinic and get an abortion. As for all of us citizens, to believe that it is even remotely appropriate for a child to die so that you can live your life that is truly unfair and just such a sad thing.

How can we expect civilized countries and sane people to stop killing each other & destroying life on this planet if we are out here basically just handing abortions out on the street I mean really we give up our most precious resources to point we choose to kill them! What is truly ironic about this topic and country is that the same movements that have advocated these cliches such as 'Live & let live,' also support abortion for just any woman. Think of all the people out there who are homeless and are pregnant, we even hand abortions out to them like it is candy. Why are we as US citizens allowing our children to be killed. When you get and abortion not only do you lose your child, but you put your body in harm. It is very possible for an abortion to go wrong and end up killing both the mom and baby.

The real problem with abortions is that the man does not have a say in the whole situation no matter if he is married to the woman or not. I found this story online from an anonymous person  that posted about it. “A young man was seen pacing outside in a parking lot of an abortion clinic with his hands on his head. When approached and asked what was wrong he was frantic and said his ex girlfriend was inside. When pressed as to what the problem was he said she was getting an abortion and he was quite upset about it. He said his ex girlfriend was about to have his baby killed and there wasn't anything he could do about it.” Seriously think about this for a minute this is in no way, shape, or form fair to the man. If one parent wants to take care of it then what is the harm in giving birth to it and letting them be the child’s parent.

Although we do need to watch for other abortion situations that can be bad. I read a post about a guy who got his girlfriend pregnant and after talking about it they decided that she would give birth and he would keep it. Now after the mother gave birth she split and left him to take care of her unwanted child and his wanted child. They went to court and he went and got full custody of the baby and the mom had to help and pay. Now a few months later the dad couldn’t do it saying for the girl to take the baby back or he is to busy to care for it. He took his ex back to court and was told his only option would be to give the child up for adoption since he won full custody, because he wanted the baby. It is situations like this that people really need to think about before having a baby and for that matter even conceiving a baby.

In the UK abortion in allowed when two doctors decide it is allowed by law, you are allowed to have an abortion if the baby will be disabled . They would consider an abortion if the mother life is/would be in danger. Another example, is if the baby being born would have a negative impact on its family eg- not enough money for everyone as there is a new baby to be catered for. They will do an abortion if the baby will not be looked after or the mother has mental problems . Another law in the UK about abortions are you have to book an appointment you have to be 18 and over.

Abortion is actually a real crime, really if someone can go to jail for murder or manslaughter because a woman's fetus died in a catastrophic car accident then it should be counted as a premeditated murder to go in to just any clinic or doctors office and have an abortion in anyway, shape, or form. One of the many reasons people choose to be pro-choice is this very scenario. Another example, is that there is the fact that women will get abortions anyways, how ever they can. If a woman really has to suffer the nine ungodly months of pregnancy just to have an unwanted child, that child will grow up unloved and resented, and because unwanted children tend to have grow up living their lives in poverty level or lower class families, they are more than likely to turn to crime and rob all you selfish rich pro-lifers who think abortion is okay in any situation possible.

Not Only Are You Murdering A Child, Which Is Wrong In Itself. In some cases having an abortion can actually make you become infertile. Another example of this would be, if the abortion is done incorrectly or only some parts of the child are aborted by the contracept or surgery, it can cause a very gruesome illness and even could cause a disease, both of these things could turn out to be very fatal in the end not only to the unborn child, but the mother as well. At this point you really have to stop and think is it worth killing an innocent child and potentially endangering both you and the baby or should you just have the baby and put it up for adoption
